If you're gonna tell a guy he's crazy/wrong/etc., at least give some sort of explanation as to why.

Personally, I think Collins will miss Yancy and Luke dearly and I'm not so sure Goodson will be as effective as the feature of the offense. He'll get yards, but I'm not sure he'll be able to be as explosive without the supporting cast. I think Luke was the catalyst for that offense. If Collins has guys to fill in for Luke and Yancy they may have a good shot. However, Lufkin will have, potentially, the best defense in the state, so you'd better hope your defense is vastly improved, or else I don't see Collins winning.

Lufkin looks to have one of the top defenses in the state. On top of that, Lufkin has a great young quarterback and an extremely talented core of receivers. Goodson will have trouble since he looks to be the only player on offense. If the Lufkin defense only has to key in on one guy... :cool:

Sorta hard to get your boys up each week when you play 3-7 teams so crap happens. In our district, a 4-6 Odessa High knocked off Midland Lee a few years ago 27-17 and M. Lee won the state title that year. District games can sneak up and bite you sometimes even when you play the bottom feeders. :cool:

goodson might be the best rb in the district but i do not know about player?? lufkin has many on their team that could be seen as the best player in this district. in fact a few could say they are the best in the state at their position. goodson is very very good and is one of the top rb's in the state.


regardless, i like the collin's fan confidence but i think it is more wishful thinking but you never know?? i would be absolutely shocked if lufkin does not run the table once again in this division. the biggest game will be vs the woodlands and lufkin has them at abe this year where they are almost unbeatable. good luck beating this lufkin team is all i have to say. do not get me wrong it could happen but in my opinion it is not very likely in the regular season. lufkin has another excellent shot at going undefeated in the regular season. no lee no longview. 10-0 i think so. i would rather lufkin be 16-0 though. ;)

Neither of his brothers have ANY Varsity experience!! They are younger kids who are gonna have to help carry the load! Bottom line is Goodson will have to carry this team on his back! He definately has the talent to do it if can handle carrying the ball 20 - 30 times, running punts, running kickoffs, and playing defense every know and then. A lot of jobs for one man! Just ask RJ Jackson last year from Westside!

According to Dave's mag Collins has 15 starters coming back...7-O...8-D. May have some potential there.

just because a team hung around a little longer before getting blown out by lufkin does not mean nada. huntsville did the same!! hey nac did it a few years ago. nac kept it close for almost 3 quarters and they lost by about 40. that is why there is 4 quarters in a football game. with all that said i was impressed with collins last year because of their speed and athleticisim. they are capable of upsetting a few quality teams if they are anything like last year i do agree.

Pack - I missed the H'ville game, but the Nac game you're referring to was more like really early 3rd quarter - LP was up I think 14-3 - then it was 28-3 not even midway through the 3rd.

Conversely - let's be honest - KCollins came to play and was ahead a couple of minutes into the 4th qtr in a really tight, tough game. They fumble on their own 3 yard line - then the floodgates open. No comparison at all to Nac or Hville. I was impressed with KC's D and Goodson that night - and the little kid Yancy burned us on the td late in the first half to take the lead.

If KC has a qb and another O threat moving up - they will be a strong contest playing in Klein.

My thread was about Lufkin who we had a lead on going deep into the fourth quarter before we fumbled on the three and gave them momentum. I agree!! I know you have 3 schools!! I played all of them in the 90's!! I was joking!! I know those schools and the old players at Klein better then you think! I am glad KC is having success with there varsity, all though I know most of the talented kids went to that school to have at least one power house Klein school but that is beside the point! Why do you think K. Oak is 4A now? I will say this, I will be at the KC Woods game & the KC Pack game this year because I want to see as much Goodson as I can! Does ya'lls band wear kilts and play bagpipes? Gotta play 'bags' if you're a Highlander. The only time I've seen you guys was on T.V. against North Shore. I felt sorry for anyone who had to play North Shore that season. I'm glad they were Div 1 and Katy was Div 2. I think SLC would have had big problems with those guys. Brilliant gameplan - I think the score at halftime was 35-0. Conroe's "phenomenal" rb had long since starting laying down - it was pretty nasty until Coach O called off the dogs in the 3rd. Conroe left with plenty of purple on their hats.

I am so ready for it I can't wait!! Katy is home so you can be ready for a sea of red and green in Reliant. If we would have played any other team besides Shore we would have had a chance. That Defense they had was just rediculous! That was the best 5A team ever! They didn't have one close game that year. We play the bags every game before the game when we walk on the field! So you will here some bags playing! Make sure you wave across the stadium I will be wearing Green!
