I been thinking about this a bit and we should have a 20-25 pick. I couldnt find it if we traded it away yet or not which wouldnt suprise me. IMO, Jerry needs to go after a playmaker at WR. There will be Dez Bryant, Golden Tate, Danario Alexander, and now Arrelious Benn. All of these would be good picks for Dallas. I wouldnt be suprised if he went after a safety such as Taylor Mays. Any thoughts?

In that area?
Possibly Anthony Davis (Rutgers)
Bruce Campbell (Maryland)
Bryan Bulaga (Iowa)
This is of course assuming Russell Okung and Trent Williams will be gone.

this year's WR class is just STACKED.
not only bryant, tate, alexander, and benn...but dez briscoe (kansas), damian williams (usc), brandon lafell (lsu), mardy gilyard (cincy) and jordan shipley(texass)....just to name a few. with that many options (and more i haven't named), i would THINK that the cowgirls would go after an OT or a safety with their first pick because they'll be able to pick up a quality receiver with a later pick. i'm no expert on their needs, so correct me if my judgement is off.

That does make some since. A 1st round WR would be good but it is very deep. Taylor Mays would be a nice pickup if they could get him. Maybe Jesus will be good to us and give us Eric Berry :laugh

The Cowboys need game breakers and offensive linemen. Outside of Romo, Austin, Jones and Ware this roster has no players that can make game breaking plays. It's full of good players. We even have a couple of great players that don't fit into this category( Witten, Ratliff).
The offense just has to work too hard. A huge part of that is the scheme and the play calling but we have no explosive options is our lineup, other than Austin and Jones. Imagine a Percy Harvin type sitting in our slot. What does that do for the offense? Add a Bryant or Tate to an offense with a new coordinator, like Shanahan, and see what happens.
The defense needs ball hawks, period. We have a ton of good guys, Guys that are in position. Guys that make the tackle. Guys that almost make the big play. I want Mount Cody from Alabama. I want him because he's a giant, three blocker absorbing nose, a classic for the 3-4. I want him because his
addition allows us to add a game breaker by moving Ratliff to end. Can you imagine rushing Ratliff and Ware of the same edge while the line contends with a behemoth on the nose? Aside from Cody we need another young cb and some ballhawks at safety.
The oline needs to inject another two young players this offseason, one if you think Robert Brewster is going to dvelop for us. I think the oline is going to be retooled via free agency, though.
Setting coaching aside(huge, I know) this is what separates NO and Minnesota from Dallas. They have game breakers, not just play makers.
Having to write this just pisses me off even more at the draft strategy from last spring. Dallas had the pick and could have taken Phil Loadholt, who is starting as a rookie for the Vikings. With Free showing he belongs adding Loadholt would have meant we had our two, young tackles on the roster already. We had all the picks in the world to manuever and get impact players in each round. Rashard Johnson from Alabama was available to us twice without trade. Sure would be nice to have a ballhawking safety, no? The draft for depth philosophy I wasn't against at the moment it was happening. Then I realized it was just a cover for Jerry being ectrememly leveraged at the time. For the first time, he went cheap. Hope our scouts hit in 09 like they did in 08.

The drafting of a receiver early is a pipe dream, though. Jones has selected a wr receiver in the first round since Alvin Harper and on the first day since Antonio Bryant.
Point Made...

Well, considering that lately they're either picking their noses, or their @$$es, it's safe to say that any other pick can't be worse.

Not so fast my friend. With Jerry, anything is possible. ;)
