If the Cowboys lose today I think they will fall apart like the last several seasons and we can just wait and see who Jones wants for his next HC. I'll bet it will be Garrett and then in another three years we will be looking forward to the next choice:Censor:
I have been a true blue Cowboys fan since the late 60's but I am so tired of watching the team tease us by looking like they are going to make some noise only to slam the door in my face. I know what the Cubs fans feel like every year. If I were a cubs and cowboys fan I think I would go completely crazy.:(

How much are they paying Garrett? I can't decide who is worse, him or Phillips. You would think the boy genius would be able to come up with an offense that included the red zone.:Censor:
I know Phillips is gone at the end of the year but I don't see how Garrett is worth keeping.

The Cowboy's in the post Jimmy Johnson era just aren't very good...Jerry would be better running a circus under his big top....What a pathetic defense..
The only confidence I had in the New Orleans game was Dallas could keep it close if they got pressure on Brees... without Ware good luck with that.

New Orleans game could be interesting in that Dallas in now in a corner and New Orleans may lose some interest waiting on the playoffs.
We'll get to see if Payton can maintan his teams focus and or if Dallas ends its season.
I give Dallas a small chance based on the above.

could SOMEBODY buy the cowboys a FG kicker?????!!!!! How ridiculous is this?
Also, perhaps play calling at the 1 foot line should be considered, I think the announcers got it when they said why call a play where the Guard has to pull? Too close here for someone to penetrate...
Oh well, another December fades into oblivion. This was a very winnable game.

I believe the Pokes are 5-15 in December under Romo, while the Chargers are 16-4 in December under Rivers - it may actually be even better for Rivers - but I think that's what I recall.

The two losses were due to the O's inability to score points. I don't put either loss totally on him, particularly last week. However, he's a pretty big piece of the O, so he gets the blame - regardless - it goes with the position.

Nope, buck stops at the head coach, OC and DC as well as GM. Blame the QB all you want, but the past two weeks Romo has done it all.
Personally if I were to blame any personnel, it would be the O-Line. That comes back to depth, and the GM.

first off, wow you're old.
I for one hope they get rid of Wade Phillips after this season. Im tired of this grandpa looking emotionless gummy bear just standing on our sideline just watching the game like he's looking at it for the first time. I was pissed when Barber got stuffed on the 1 freakin yd line the first time. All he had to do was take 2-3 steps and take a leap of faith. JUST DIVE. But the doosh decides to try and run it in and make it look pretty and gets stuffed 3 times! And how does Wade react...

He is going to make changes for sure. Problem is it will only be another set of smoke and mirrors.
The only way I see him doing anything that is truly different is if he starts to feel it in the pocketbook. But, he is like P.T. Barnum, he knows there are enough suckers out there to last a long, long, time so I just don't see any real differences on the horizon.

Kickers are weird, to start. Folk should have been cut weeks ago. That's harsh, I realize, but kicker is the one starting position in the league that has almost zero margin for error. They get cut every week all over the league.

60-85, 68.5% completion rate, 641 yards, 5 touchdowns and 0 turnovers the last two weeks while running the most vanilla passing attack in the league with almost no explosion to it. He is not the issue any longer, get past that notion.
Jason Garret has apparently confused total yards with total points and has lost all of his creativity. Two plays in three weeks have made me say out loud,"Great play." That's two times he's shown any imagination. He's too green, too stubborn and vastly over rated. Folks forget that Tony Sparano was every bit as responsible for the 07 production as Garrett. The offense hasn't been the same since he left.
Does anyone else cry when they realize that if Jerry wasn't so bull headed about being the GM we'd more than likely be run by Parcells as the GM, Payton as the HC and Sparano as the assistant HC and OC?

Best point of the year, and I've said it a few dozen times as well. I think the bigger loss was Payton, and I don't know if he and Tuna could have co-existed, but I think so.
Dallas is third in league in yards, but 13th in points - and most of those points were in Sept - Oct.

this. Romo has done everything he can to win these last couple of games including holding for kicks. How about Adams, Davis and Newman? Our 20M no shows... again. Yea Newman had an interception, but he also gave up a couple of the 3rd and longs that kept TD drives alive. I am so done watching him play corner. All that speed and he always seems to get turned around. uhhhgg...

Agreed. I'm not a huge Parcells guy but, to be honest, I like him nore in the front office than on the sidelines. He knows how to institute a structure. Also, if here still here half of our scouting department would still be here, too, and not in Miama.
Getting away from Parcells did Payton alot of good because they are on different levels of thought on offensive football. Bill never let Sean spread his wings to anywhere near their full extent while he was calling plays here. Aside from that philisophical difference, they subscribe to many of the same thought processes. I imagine if Bill had said he was going to run the organization and Sean was going to run the field we wouldn't have had any issue.

And what I have never understood is this. Jerry loves the spotlight. He's a ho to it. It's part of what makes him such a genius in marketing. That said I'll never understand how he has failed to understand that he would receive even more attention if he was the owner that just wrote the checks, if he had the best front office in the business working for him. With his financial resources and business acumen a top flight front office and staff would have netted him more championships which means more exposure. He could still get his fix but have the trophies, too. Make sense?
