When women get in a car, do they start the car first or dial their cell phone? I have been observing traffic lately and easily around 70% of the women drivers have a cell phone in their ear. They are usually driving below the speed limit or changing lanes without looking and it is getting out of hand. I don't care if you talk on your phone but if you can't drive and talk at the same time turn the damn phone off or pull over and finish your conversation.

Midland, Texas is the simple explanation.

what makes you think the phone was hung up while they were walking to the car? i'd assume it was in their ear in the house before they left. i can't imagine what some people have to say that is so important that they can't ever get off the phone.

First we start the car, set the radio on the correct staion, and are in full converstaion with the child in the back seat. Then we dial as we pull out and are chasing our makeup tubes over the car floor. Can't you multitask as well? ;)

I dont think 70% is even close to the real percent. Maybe 70% of the people you notice because the only people you notice are ones making mistakes

Then there is the guy that cut in front of me on the tollway at 6 a.m. one day. One hand on the steering wheel and holding a cup of coffee (or something) and cigarette. With the other hand he was shaving. I guess I should be happy he wasn't on the phone, too.

Or the dads trying to navigate the traffic flow in either dropping off or picking up children from school. The only arrows mean something. Moms stick to the every other car rule and the crossing guards need to be minded. The only times I have seen a stop in the flow is when dads try to play in this fun game.

I was a firm believer in riding the bus, but the times I did have to pick them up it was the dads that mucked up the flow.

Now ladies, I am a true believer that women are the supior of the species BUT this is a true area of opportunity for the female nation. Don't start about men. We have way too many defects to effectively address on a message board.:)

At the risk of being a traitor to my gender... Dawgfan is absolutely right! Women and kids are almost never not on the phone while driving.
I don't usually talk on the cell phone anywhere and less when I'm driving. I don't send texts while moving.
BUT I do read texts if they come from certain folks moving or not. I have a kid in college away from home and I'm a worrier - so I always read his texts when I get em. So far... mostly requests for money and few real emergencies. :o
