We're 2 months away from the next North American Olympics. Because of all the flight delays over the weekend, UA was kind enough to compensate all of us with travel vouchers to anywhere they fly. Used it to score a ticket to Seattle to hopefully, conditions permitting, make that short drive to Vancouver BC and catch the Winter Olympics.
I missed the one in Sydney because I didn't live there anymore. I'm glad that I'm getting this opportunity. It's always been a childhood dream to go to one. You guys may want to consider making the trip yourselves. It's a short flight from Texas and for some of us, could be the last one in this continent while we're around. Be part of the greatest sporting event in the world.

I went to the games when they were in LA in 1984 and loved the experience! Do you have your tickets already?? That will be your biggest challenge if you don't...
The drive from Seattle up to Vancouver should be alright then. That area gets a lot of rain at that time, but usually not much snow.
I have several customers in Vancouver and they've said to be prepared the security is going to be brutually tight...

The construction at the main border crossing is running behind and as a result will cut the number of access lanes by half because of the mess, when the original plan was to double the number of lanes. They were hoping to get it finished before the Olympics. There is another border crossing east of the main one which takes you into the Eastern suburbs. Might be worth taking that and going back towards the coast once you've crossed.
As far as tickets go, I was just going to play it by ear. Not really a priority as much as just being there soaking it all up. I'll probably end up buying tickets to an event nobody cares too much about. Women's hockey tickets start at 25.00 and nowhere near sold out from what I understand.
Hoping snow does not derail my plans.
