Picture help

My daughter took a picture of the dogs. She then photoshopped some Santa hats on them and whited out the background.

Now she needs to put a wintery background in so we can use them for our Christmas cards, but cannot figure out how to do that. Anyone with this knowledge please let me know and I will get it to her.

She needs to knock the photos out on the wintery background. Pick the background, drag the photo of the dogs on to that background and then knock out what I am assuming will be white around the dogs (since she already whited out the background on the original picture).
