Freaking bad*ss live. Absolutely facemelting. Especially now that they don't just show up and get drunk every show.

well imagine that! something the three of us can agree on. I saw them live in the Cotton Bowl in 1987. Monster's of Rock or Texas Jam ... something like that. (I went to that concert for about three years straight. Got those T-shirts someplace) They were one of the first bands to play that day. I like Metallica a lot more now than then.

people give them too much crap about new stuff not being good (like EVERY band EVER) but I liked Death Magnetic. Ozzfest was one of the first shows they played after coming out of the studio for that album, so they were fired UP for that show. I think they played nearly 2 hours with literally no break. No intro to the songs, just one into the next. It was sick.

This is what surround-sound speakers were invented for. Pardon me while I destroy my hearing for awhile.

Destroyed mine a long time ago, they are BA in concert. Saw AC/DC at the Lubbock Coliseum back in the dark ages, they had the ceiling tiles falling down it was so damn loud.

LOL, good times! Went to many concerts there and never went to Tech. Lots of road trips.

They've always been insane live. I seen them for the first time in August of 1985 and have seen them 17 times total. They are just sick live. One of few bands that sound live, as they do in studio.
This is from the 1985 tour I seen them on, for a 14 yr old, it was very intimidating and invigorating at the same time.

From the first time I heard them I got chills on my arms and to this day they do the same to me. Unreal.

That's pretty hard stuff....but I like it!
I was in a cover band a couple of years ago that played this tune. The crowd liked it. Don't know if it's Metallica Heads' cup of tea.
