3 team 7 player deal putting Granderson at center field for the Yankees.

Yankees give up prospect Austin Jackson, failed pitching prospect Ian Kennedy, and above average reliever Phil Coke.

I don't know if I like this trade. Granderson isn't exactly young or fresh at 28 years old and the Yankees weren't aging or struggling at center field with 25 year old Melky and Brett Gardner. Sure, Granderson will probably be a big upgrade from melky but at what cost?? Jackson was the #1 or #2 prospect the Yankees had and we deal him off to solve a problem I don't think we really had. I trust Cashman knows what he is doing but I don't think I'm sold on this deal.

At least the Yanks didn't part with their prized pitching prospect but the rotation is still a pretty big concern outside of Sabathia, Burnett, and Pettitte. You can't go with a 3 man rotation the entire season.

looking good for d-ryan stud of austin jackson to make the show next spring. unfortunately it'll be with the woeful tiggers, not the reigning champs, but it will be for a little more money than the minors, no doubt.

Yeah. I'm upset to see him go. He was supposed to anchor the outfield and I think the deal could have been done without including him. Oh well. Let's see what else the Yanks get done during the off-season. Got center field and right field all worked out now with Granderson and Melky but left field is a big question mark. BJ upton trade? Damon? Swisher? Holliday? Bay?

Who knows. Still pitching needs to address and a looming Halladay trade plus all the other free agent pitchers the Yanks probably go after.
