I looked and could not find a thread for this so I'll just start a new one ... participate if you want, but if you don't want to please feel free to ignore this thread.
President Obama:
"And we were forced to take those steps largely without the help of an opposition party which, unfortunately, after having presided over the decision-making that led to the crisis, decided to hand it to others to solve."

this kind of comment will gain no cooperation from the other side of the aisle.
Obama is driving us further into debt and seems to want to blame it on others. IMO, he is being hypocritical to a certain extent.

the power and faith of Catholic Christians has been grosely underestimated in the two previous posts ... but I can see the humor in these same posts.
I too take issue with what is happening in Europe. I applaud Sweden for the stand they are taking. (I think it's Sweden or Switzerland )

agreed, but what stand would you take as someone was pouring hot oil down your throat before they cut your head off? If I saw this happening to you I would do everything in my power to stop it and fight along side you against those that were trying to do that to you. Would you fight back or would you allow them to practice their beliefs and take one for them team?

The point at which a religious practice breaks a United States law is the point at which it loses its legal protection. Until then, they have every right to do whatever the hell they want.

not all of Islam, silly. but not even you can deny 9/11 and Bin Ladin and Al Qaeda and so on and so on ... you may be a bit liberal, but you're not insane, stupid, or delusional. Look, we can agree that there's more than meets the eye when it comes to the unrest between the USA and the radical islamic factions, right? When it comes to what Switzerland enacted I agree with their choice to do so. I would like to think that there will not come a day when i have to awake to Muslim morning prayer being played over a loud speaker in Deer Park, TX. In short, there are limits to what a people should expect to change in the American society, IMO.

Why, then, is it okay to wake up to church bells? Christianity and Islam are basically the same religion, anyways. Christianity has just reluctantly modernized a bit.

outside of the historical relation, their is nothing similar about these religions.
Yes, both claim to Serve the God Jehovah...But the message each proclaim is vastly different. It is as if they serve two completely different Gods.

Dude, im not claiming they share major tenets,
mostly that they share (ostensibly) the same "god",
They are both considered to be monotheistic, but the most basic revealed truth of Christianity is the Trinity, which Islam does not recognize or share, and which is the fundamental truth underlying the Christian religion.
most of their prophets,
They both share Old Testament prohpets, with the Jews. There is a basic departure about who the person of Jesus Christ was, which you can not call "minor." In addition, the most important prophet of Islam is not recognized at all by Christians as a prophet. Additionally, they interpret the message of the prophets entirely differently, to the point where it is difficult to call them the same prophets at all.
basic messages about not killing people and the like,
OK.....they both say not to kill people.....
a basic set of laws included in their holy texts,
There is no law in the uniquely Christian text that Christians recognize as their primary authority.
and claim the same lands and people as holy.
Christianity does describe the Middle East as the "Holy Land" because of the events that took place there, and because those lands were for the early part of Christianity the stronghold of the faith. However, there is no equivalent to the cities of Mecca and Medina in the Christian faith, and the practice of the Christian faith is not contingent on the ability to visit Jerusalem or Jerusalem being in Christian hands, unlike Islam. Additionally, the very holiest sites of Islam have nothing to do with anything Christians claim as holy.
