With the possibility of both Katy and Cinco Ranch winning states, has the same ISD ever produced two state champions, even in different classes?

Wylie is its own ISD, but I'm not sure the same city has ever produced to champs in one year.

And would this not then make Katy the only town in all of Texas with a water tower proclaiming two state champeens?

Hell no . . . only one team resides in Katy, Texas . . . the other is somewhere in between Houston West and Fulshear East. In other words, NO-MAN'S LAND :p

The only High School in the town of Katy is Katy High School. The other 5 school in Katy ISD are in an unicorporated area called the "Katy Area."
The population of the Katy Area far exceeds that of Katy.
The Katy Area Chamber of Commerce lists the populations as:
City of Katy population: 14,000
KISD Area population: 205,531

Last I checked, Katy ISD administration offices are in Katy, Texas (which is, btw, located somewhere between a large outlet mall and and an Igloo plant - interspersed by cows). I would think that if the administration offices are in Katy, then all 6 high schools are from Katy. If not, then that would mean that Katy proper, and schools located in Katy proper were merely benefiting from the tax base generated by the areas outside of Katy proper. And we know that's not true.

Son, just trying to teach you the value of hard work! :D
That or I'm too lazy to try to figure out what school district all those schools were in when they won state titles. :)
Closest occurrence in 5A was in 1995 when Judson and Roosevelt won both divisions out of 26-5A. Judson was D1, Roosevelt D2. Roosevelt (16-0) beat Judson (14-1) in district that year. Both teams weren't in the same ISD, though. Other than that, I don't know if there's ever been a time where two schools in the same ISD won titles in different classifications.

If that were too happen then would it finally end the longings for the D1 and D2 state champs to face off? I guess we wouldnt be satisfied since both squads would be losing seniors. Just the same though, I would go to the game just to get the shirt:
This years District champs vs State Champs
Next years D1 Champs vs. D2 Champs
Both an honor and a statement for KISD
It's gonna take some stellar performances this week from both teams to get to the title games, though. And then once they're there it's only gonna get harder.
This is the round I actually believed Katy had a shot at the title last year, though. As soon as I left Rice last year I called my buddy who missed the game and the first words out of my mouth were, "We're gonna win state." There were some excited vulgarities after that, but you get the idea. Let's see if it works out that way again.

1995 if I recall;
San Antonio Roosevelt won the small 5A state Championship, while Converse Judson won the big 5A State Championship.
While not in the same ISD, they both came out of the same UIL district that year.

The two that won that one year Judson and Roosevelt (1995) were from different school districts. Same football district but not school districts.
I believe it would be a first, if it happens.

You know, all of this success that Cinco is having really has me thinking. Maybe there really is something to the fact that Clayton is a former Katy coach.
Hey, I know! Each year, Dowling should rank the 6 different programs. A "forced ranking", if you will, like they do in the red meat-eating corporate big money places. If your team is last, you're fired and replaced by...
A Katy assistant! Actually, a Katy coordinator. This would, I believe, upgrade the entire district. Hey! Now that is a real idea! Upgrading the entire district is, after all, what we really all want, right? Its no fun to have one or two dominant programs squishing a bunch of poor programs . Just imagine the noise we could make in the playoffs, not to mention raising the overall play of every existing team.
And yes, in the years where we open up a new school, one Katy coordinator would go to the new school and one to the last place program.
Parity in the 1-7-5 is just one easy little decision away. Waddya say?

While Roosevelt and Judson were in different ISD's the 2 schools boundries are right up against each other.Roosevelt is actually closer to Judson than any other NEISD school.
This would be quite an accomplishment for the Katy area.Didn't Collin County have several state champs last year in different classes or at least finalist's?

All for bettering the district, even if its not mine. But remember, someone has to come in last, doesnt mean the team is bad, it may just mean the rest of the district is that good. In KISD...I could see it as a possibility

Being a former Katy HS coach has everything to do with knowing how to build a winning football program. Just look at what Katy ex Svendsen did at Morton Ranch. They had been 1 - 19 in their first 2 seasons under their first HC, Shoemake, who left. In Svendsen's first season, the team won their first 5 games. Next season he is gone (against his will) and the MR team immediately went back to 1 - 9.

Funny how the conversation goes... From the start it was "Two teams from the same ISD"... Not county, city, zip code, street or fence sharers... It's a long, long shot, but a shot never-the-less... The semi business is at hand, then, I hope, we can move to the next game... :)

Don't open that can of worms. I will admit though he did know HOW TO BUILD A WINNING FOOTBALL PROGRAM. Coach Meadows will build a clean winning porogram.

Based on this list of former state champions:
http://www.fridaynighthistory.com/uilchamps.html
...it looks like it was only a possibility (2 champs from the same district) from 1990 on.
I'm not familiar with what schools were in what districts. But off the top of my head it looks like Texas City & La Marque both won in 4A the same year (1997). I'd be surprised if they weren't in the same district (since they were both 4A that year).

So this year, we still have the possibility of:
Two state champs from the same school district: Katy and Cinco Ranch
AND
Two state champs from the same city: Abilene and Wylie
Neither of these have ever happened.

A school district and an Incorporated city are two completely different and distinct governmental agencies that have little to do with each other, other than cooperating for police and fire protection. Cinco Ranch is not in the City of Katy, so the City of Katy has no obligation to put them on their water tower. They couldn't, but they don't have to. They really don't have to have Katy on there, either.
There is probably a Municipal Water System (Yet another agency that is seperate from the ISD and City) that serves Cinco Ranch HS that might want to paint their water tower.
