Was listening 610 yesterday morning and they were hearing that some of the players want Carr to GO!

They said they don't believe in him as a leader and he doesn't know how to win!

You make the CALL!!

Way to not tell the whole story.

Lance says that he heard from 4 players, 2 of which won't be with the team, and all 4 of them not being very good, that they didn't like Carr.

However, Granato, who is with the team probably more than anyone during the season, gives conflicting reports. I side with Granato, as I believe the majority doesn't feel the way about Carr as those 4 dudes Lance was talking about.

it's okay, I'm used to the pro-Vince crowd taking only the bits of info that support their case and using it in arguments ;)

That was getting good yesterday though, I like when John and Lance disagree. Lance even said the guys he heard that from, at least 2 of them for sure won't be with the team next year, so it could have been sour grapes. Who knows...

Since your so full of Info, what is your take on the Vince/Bush draft?

I'm so sick of it I want my head to explode. Notice I didn't say my head IS gonna explode, I WANT it to explode :)

I used to be very pro Reggie Bush, because of the ability to multi task with him, as far as motioning out of the RB spot from the I potentially matching him up with LBs and his ability to play WR.

I love Vince's "want to" about playing in Houston, it's unmatched and I love anyone who wants to genuinely play in my hometown. However, I'm not sold on him at all as a pro passer in a pro style offense against pro defenses.

So where does that leave me...? Lately I've joined the trade down crew. I watched D'Brickshaw Ferguson all Senior Bowl week, and I think he's a great LT. I also know that a player like Mario Williams can be like Julius Peppers in the 4-3 if that's what we switch to, and that a guy like A.J. Hawk can immediately step in and be a Pro Bowl caliber linebacker, something this defense DESPEARATELY needs (playmakers).

How bout you? I'm gonna say obviously you're a Vince pusher, but I'll let you tell me instead of me assuming ;)

You have to buy a book......I guess I'll go see that "Horse" show over by the gallreia instead. I'm pretty sure this isn't Vince's doing...he would probably wont to take pics with all the kids and sign anything.

Well,

I was NEVER a Bush fan, even before the Rose Bowl. I don't think our problem is at R. Back at all. I also have NEVER liked Carr. Anyone that runs down the field when we score a TD when we are 2-10 as a team doesn't make my "I am a leader on this team" sheet.

I have always been a Vince fan, and the thought of him coming to play for his hometown IS very nice. I do think he is better then Carr right now.

As far as his passing skills, last year I would have said maybe, this year I think has really made point to work on it and it shows.

Taking a Lineman with the 1st pick? We need it, but I doubt we will go there. Trade the pick? It would have to sweep McNair of his feet to even bother with that.

Now, I think drafting Vince would make this city Explode with attention, even if he doesn't play until next year, who cares? The Texans are so bad right now, they know what we need. Of course I would like to see Vince here more then Bush though. Bush doesn't even want to play for the Texans. It would be nice to have our QB from Texas. If not I will be saying "GO HOUSTON CALIFORNIANS!!!"

Bush will be a bust. The Horns were the best defense that he faced in the last two years and it showed that if he can't run to the outside...he's not that special. I don't think he can be an every down back. He will be more of a Peter Warrick, Desmond Howard type player.......I mean the Fresno St. game gave him the Heisman.... FRESNO STATE.....that should tell you enough. Who CAN'T run circles around Fresno St?

I dont know how many times i have heard people say that Vince young has not sold them as a pro-passer. let me ask you this. Why not? has he proven that he cant throw. i dont think so. The basis of the argument is flawed. he has throwen many deep passes and many short passes and was this years best college qb(over cutler and matt)....yes i know people get all caught up in his motion. WHO CARES, The ball gets to its destination. He is 6'5 so when he throws its at a 6'1 qb level because of where he positions his arm. And its not like you cant fix it(even though i wouldnt because you need vince to be vince other wise he is just a avrg qb)......if the texans trade down they will get a good player or couple...great we fixed our line...yes thats what we need..but even with a good o-line carr is avrg and not a leader. I know with out a doubt more people in that locker room dont think Carr is a good fit. Not to say they dont like carr as a guy, he is a nice guy, its just that there not winning with him. a QB needs to be a leader. When your main leader is gary walker YOUR IN TROUBLE. i to used to be all about reggie, but the more i watch him the more i realized we would be doing the kid injustice by bringing him to a team in rebuilding mode with an unproven even failed QB. it would be a waist of his amazing talent. Plus i love texas and much rather have some one who want to play for his hometown. he loves football in texas, let the kid play for us. IT CANT GET ANY WORSE THEN 2-14, and let david carr go some where else.

Well I figured that, but as a true football fan, I don't need a draft pick to get me excited about my football team. I want picks that will help my team immediately, especially when I think this team is closer to the 2004 version than the 2005 debauchery.

The biggest problem with this team the past seasons? The coaching staff. It starts at the top, we all know that. Just an influx of new coaches will make this team at least 5 wins better.

Vince was a great leader on a team at Texas that was already one of the top 10 programs in the country. How good will his "leadership" qualities be when he's declared the "savior" of a team full of 7 year veterans who are apathetic to winning sometimes, only care about their paycheck?

Mack admitted the thing that let Vince go was he let "Vince be Vince." Can you do that in the NFL? Better yet, are their coaches in the NFL who are willing to do that? Kubiak doesnt strike me as that type, and Norm Chow the offensive genius at Tennessee doesn't strike me as that type either.

I agree RB isn't a need, but if Davis can only play 10 games a year (which it appears to be), maybe it is. Bush can play WR as well, and right now we've got one ****** #1 guy and a bunch of #3 and #4 WRs. The OL is a mess, and the defensive lacks 10 playmakers outside of Robinson. Trading down and addressing both those in the first round (I mean trade no lower than pick 6) to me right now looks to be the best option.

And with the whole David Carr is a leader thing....take this for what it's worth. Joe Montana was not a vocal "rally the troops" type leader. He led by his play. He was actually pretty quiet. If Carr's play improves under new coaching/scheme, his play will lead others. Just watch.

You can be the greatest leader of all time, but if your coaches suck, your gameplans suck, and the players around you are subpar....you're not gonna win, period.

ah yes, just the type of mindless flutter that makes me want to kill myself. funny how no one remembers the 2004 David Carr that everyone was saying "make so much improvement and is ready to break out." Then his number one RB and WR go down, they bring in Victor F'ing Riley, the Jaba the Hut himself, to protect his backside, fire the OC, bring in another old geezer to run the offense, and it's all Carr's fault? Please. Do me a favor, look a little deeper than just blaming the QB, that's the easy way out. Smarter football fans see the real problems. I'm willing to see what an offensive minded coach (and a good one at that) can do for a QB. Jake Plummer anyone? Arizona fans hated him, think they'd like to have him now?

AZTiger

and HUM I agree on the throwing motion thing, if Vince Young was Vick's height, it'd be an issue. It's not with his height. But scouts and coaches will raise questions about his ability to run a non-sproption offense.

In my opinion, it does not matter who you have for a QB. Rather he is good or bad does not matter if you don't have a front line to protect him. If he can't get the ball off, then he is not going to complete a pass. So unless you are protecting your QB the way you should be, then you should keep your mouth shut.

They need some HAWGS!

I think that Carr can be a good QB only if he had the offensive line to do that. He has been so bad lately and it time for the new coaches to step in and correct this problem. I also think that they were playing way too conservative under Capers and that's what killed them. I think that will change under Gary Kubiak.

Don't knock Carr. It's not all his fault. It is that abissmal line. He snaps the ball and he has 1.5 seconds to get the ball away. Completely not his fault.

I'm so glad that many of you are Texans fans because you shelled out so much money years ago to build your team (?) a state-of-the-art stadium. And, haven't they produced! NOT! The rocket scientists who have managed your team are at year zero after five years and four NFL drafts. VINCE, Reggie Bush, do you believe one player is going to make a difference? If so, I have some prime lots to sell you in the Gulf. You guys consider yourselves experts because you attend a couple of games a year and produce a lot of gas on these boards. The NFL isn't college and one player can't win the championship by himself. Sorry VINCE lovers, he can't do it alone. Vick is a pretty good runner, and yes, a better thrower than VINCE, and the Falcons are world champs. Right? I'm no Carr fan, but he suffers from shell-shock, after playing for such a pathetic team for four years and many beatings. Reminds me of another Houston QB, Dan Pastorini. I hope your Texans can win more than two games in 2006, but how likely is that? Oh, I love to see Houston....in my rear-view mirror.

The Titans are the happies fans they know that they are going to get Vince Young a true winner and he will have time to developed behind Mc Nair.

Im going to love to see the Texans Management when the Titans roll into town in the next 2 or 3 years and Young runs and throws all over them while Brokenback mountain Carr lays on his back like always thinking about the good old days back in Cali.

Kubiak better make Carr better or both him and his Carr are going out the door in 3 years. With that said good luck to the Texans next year they are going to need it.
