It looks like Allen Wilson misses playing in East Texas.

I wish they would've had this schedule in 2005!! They are going to have quite a few new starters next year. 3 new O Line, a new QB, 3 new D-Linemen, 2 new LBs, 3 new DBs.

I am looking forward to Carter coming to down to play us, it should be a exciting matchup.

First regular season game between Longview and Dallas Carter since 1987. Kinda scary how much things have change but yet stayed the same since then.

We played them in the playoffs that same year I believe. Won 9-7 at the Cotton Bowl. Jesse Armstead, Joe Bowden, etc. Great game.

We get em first. We scrimmage them in late August. Trinity scrimmages them and Midland on the same night. HAKAAAAA!!!!!!!!:D :D

With the people Carter has coming back..i look for Mr.. Wilson to put dallas carter over the hump this year..he's due he's had all great years since he has left jt and went to dc....i see him advancin to it least semis this yr....just my opinion tho..what do i know just a 20 yr old guy from east texas lol.....

I just don't know what to think of Carter to be honest.

They aren't the same team they were back in the 80s I know that much. They've just been that team that would make it one or two into the playoffs year after year and their schedule would be inflated by well can we say big time..BIG TIME..weak district.

I'm not saying that is the deal every year but thats just what I don't know what to think when we're going to play them. I'll know after JT though, unless JT falls back to the day of 03 or 04.

BTW Longview plays Carter in Week 4 not Week 5. We played at Lufkin Week 5.

Lobo07, it's your 4th game because you have a bye in week 4, but it is in week 5. Week 0 is Sept 1,2, and the game is scheduled for Sept. 29, week 5 for football.

And as far as what Carter will be like next year, the jury is out!! Wilson said this past season that Class 07 is the most talented class he's had since he's been at Carter, but this class of 06 was nice. Losing QB Michael Crabtree(TX Tech bound WR) is a huge loss. Crabtree was the reason Wilson used the spread offense in conjunction with the Wing-T. (He trusted him!!!!) Also Carter is losing three D1 linemen (Ark, OU, SMU). We all know how important an O-line is to a program.

I'm not so much worried about the defense; they will be solid. I just hope that the next QB in line will be solid enuff were Wilson won't use the Wing-T full time like he did before Crabtree came along. Crabtree was to Carter, what Young is to Texas(minus the championship)!! The proof is there that you can't go anywhere with out a solid pass game.

The good thing is that Carter is returning the leading rusher from last year and a few other experience rushers for a run dominant offense. Hopefully the line will keep its tradition alive!

It is week 5 of football..but of course the great UIL makes the season have a Week 0.
