View Full Version : The Trojans May Go . . .
ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Best all around game they've payed all year. By far one of the BEST defensive efforts. Hats off to the defensive game plan as it had Jokel or is it Joekl or Joekel, doesn't matter, befuddled most of the night. I felt bad for him that he'll take this with him to A&M as a pretty lousy way to finish HS football. But look at the team he faced.
For such a "big time HS QB" he can't be a happy camper after Trinity handed him his hat.
GREAT GAME TROJANS. You are getting better each game I go to. Thus, I will not stop until you win state!
NOW I AM REALLY IMPRESSED MR LINEWEAVER!!! Will it be Baylor or UT next the fields that is?

I hope Stony Point knocks off Woods because an ET/SP game would be epic.

I'm more of the opinion the Trojans met up with a defense that flattered us. On a side note, that was some really spiffy play calling. But the game went offensively like many of us thought it might after watching the Arlington Coppell game last week.
Defensively I must admit I was very very happy. What a pleasant suprise, how well we got pressure from our front (we actually looked better when we didn't bring a 4th or 5th guy, I thought they did an outstanding job of blitz pickup). Also Great job by the secondary locating and competing for the ball. Best secondary performance I can recall, maybe better than the FlowerMound game even. couldn't have come at a better time too. I hope to see that continue.
But I'm not close to being ready to stake a claim to that title. Trinity has merely accomplished what had been expected by some of us Homers. There's gonna be a great team waiting for us nextweek. I'm allready losing sleep over our next opponent.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Sucky thing is, I'm going out of town next weekend so I won't be able to see the epic game between Stony Point/Cypress Woods and if by chance we do loose (that pained my fingers just to type it), tonight could've been my last game as a high school student

Said it before, and I'll say it again. Nobody gets this far on accident.
The Trojans are a handful to deal with this year, as they have been many other years lately. What's scary, is that most of these guys are underclassmen.

I have been trying to think of a way to put my thoughts without being too disparaging to the AHS personnel and you pegged it . My intuition was that The Trojans would put it on em just like last year. They just never impressed me, as their numbers impressed everyone else.

And they will be joined by an truly outstanding JV team next year. I think da hawaiian is putting a lid on it to some degree. The Trojans keep getting a little better every grame in the playoffs. They are playing with much more confidence and discipline. They are executing and are focused.
If Tirnity keeps playing like this, we will be posting about them for at least another week and I say two or three to close out the season.
The offensive and defensive games plans were right on brotha!!!!
What about the refs last night, one of the poorest jobs I've seen in awhile. They missed many calls against Arlington and a few on Trinity. Where those guys from Arlington?

I've been hearing alot about that JV over there in Euless. I rib Da hawaiian and trojanbacker alot about sandbagging. LOL! I just know what this team is capable of now, and in the future.;)
As for the gameplan, I noticed that the Trojans had over 400 yards rushing in 3 quarters alone. That went as no surprise for 3 reasons; 1. We're talking about Trinity here, 2. The Colts run defense has been suspect the entire year, and 3. Did I mention that we're talking about Trinity?.
I watched the replay of the game on TV and, there were things that both teams got away with. At the same time, the Colts did get away with a little more though.

I really don't know who got away with more, but the fact is the refs managed the game poorly. I realize that we're deep in the playoffs and to an extent you want to let the teams play, but there were cheap shots and late hits on both sides of the ball that weren't called. I'm a little embarassed about some of our sides reactions...specifically the chant that was started. I half way expected the refs to clear the stadium to finish the game. I will admit thought that I let my emotions get the best of me at one point.

Which one? the "you suck" or the "na na na na heeeeyyy"
In hind sight the "you suck" was pretty rude to the Official, but I will have to say at the time of the call I found myself yelling it out before i relized i was.. So im guilty of being trailer trash..
The "na na na" has to stop thats just pure rudeness...
There was alot of pushing after the plays were blown dead on both sides. I think the refs would seperate the players instead of throwing flags. Problem is they let the game get out of control.

Thier WR # 18 was a real trouble maker. I think he let his emotions get the best of him. Almost every play he was stirring up something in the 4th quarter. Coaching staff should have put him in check. Great job by the Trojans not to retaliate.
But its over now we can move on..
Great job by the Colts on a deep run in the play offs.
They did do a good job of decorating the visitors side. I thought it was ST. Patty's day over there.

Uh, the "you suck" part...the first bad call, I think in the first quarter, I was furious. Then after that the folks around me started in. The goodbye song I had no part of this week. They started singing it around me in the 3rd quarter and I asked them to stop because I felt like it was going to jinx us. I think the folks around me felt like the Haka was dishonored. I don't know if our players felt the same way, but we sure played with a chip on our shoulder.

You're right, #18 and a couple of other AHS players were pretty class-less by taunting the HOME side as well as getting up in the faces of our players. I understand emotions run high and they were losing, but keep it off the field. Peach should've addressed it I think as soon as they come off the field, but he didn't.
And as for Joeckel, not impressed at all. Just like last week against Coppell, he gets rattled very easily and is DEF not a running QB. Although he didn't cough up the ball....twice!
And lastly, in the 3rd qtr when we were about to score and the band drum line was on the field making all sorts of noise - did you see Lineweaver run down there and tell them to quieten down? Probably wasn't his words, but they weren't paying attention to THE GAME and most likely had no clue what was going on! I did get a chuckle out of that.

15yds for unsportsmanlike conduct for you sir
He showed tremendous arm strength. Some of those throws he made while rolling out and without setting his feet or squaring his shoulders were simply ridiculous. He even completed a few of them and his recievers dropped a few too. If there was a problem with Joeckel, you could probably blame someone else for it. His brother was dominanting too.
Arlington Will have a tuff 2 holes to fill come next summer.

No gripes here. Completely a non-factor
Multiple times they had Arlington in their sights and could have saved me my vocal chords for a day but again they remained silent and thus I was screaming futily "DEFENSE!!!!". When I played in the HS band during basketball season we never wasted a moment to fill the ear of the opposing team whenever they were in direct ear shot of us, especially if they were on our end of the court.
Someone really needs to communicate this to the band leadership. We've played band after band this year during the football season that has had a clue. It's simple - if we're playing defense and the ball is anywhere near your line of sight - blast your horns, if it's 3rd down really blast your horn. If we're on offense, keep quiet. Simple

I totally disagree, but just my opinion. Someone mentioned earlier what he really needs is a good QB coach. Maybe he'll get that at a&m. I just didn't see what all the hype was about with him and this was the 3rd time I've seen him play this year. And he looked better earlier in the year - most likely because he wasn't playing us! :)

Uhh, a great defense can rattle ANY quarterback, when the quarterback has no protection. Watched Joeckel in last night's replay of the game, and I saw him earlier this year. Trinity and Coppell's defensively lines had alot to do with why Joeckel got rattled. That's JMO!
