I get more pumped up about a routine dental examine. The Olympics are the biggest waste of money, time and TV time since the Rosie O'Donnell show went off the air.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE WINTER OLYMPICS!!! I am counting down the hours! I'm serious guys - just call me NerdMom for a couple of weeks. Friday night, I will be glued to the opening ceremonies. I was at UT when the Miracle on Ice happened and I was watching it with my boyfriend who just happened to be a hockey player!! I guess that's why Slap Shot is such a fave of mine:p

The Olympics won't be good until Football is added as a sport, and only US HS and College Students can play for the US, while everyone else can use professionals. OH YEAH, we need to teach the rest of the world American Football first. We can tell them...its like hockey and soccer...but better.
Really though, I like watching the olympics sometimes. Just not every event. I like the Bobsled stuff (who doesn't, after watching Cool Runnings)

They legitimately beat us in Salt Lake City. I want us to win, but they could beat us in hockey again.

I enjoy both summer and winter games. Hope our national anthem is played a lot!

Nothing more exciting than a 10K cross-country ski event where the first 3 finishers are named "Franz".
I've been so excited I've been doing triple toe lutz's all week.

We aren't even predicted to medal due to the strike (some talking head said that - it didn't come from me). I watched Miracle last night (again for the 100th time) great movie and it is just fun to watch that reenacted over and over again!

Slap Shot is my favorite sports movie of all time.
By you a soda after the game!
I love that movie - it is so dated but so am I!!! It came out my Junior year in high school and I actually had to do a review on it for the newspaper (I was the school movie critic) and I was laughing so hard but still did a bang up review. I read it again in the newspaper at our reunion - wasn't too bad I must say!! We just kept going back that day to see it over and over.

I love a few events in the Olympics. While obviously some people can't stand to watch athletic competition unless it's being overhyped and has all the bells and whistles, I can appreciate some of the events. Hockey, speed skating, and bobsled (don't ask, I also watch NASCAR, I guess I just like speed) are my faves, although in the last winter games we got hooked on curling, just because it was so strange.
In the summer games, nothing beats track and field. No better test of the best than the mano e mano type competition the sprints present.

I like the fast sports too AZ. I love the downhill, bobsled, skeleton, hockey but I also love the figure skating - well, the guys I can do without - they look like they work for Liberace!! The girls are fun to watch though - there is usually a good knee busting or face slap (just kidding!!). My sister likes the car racing too - she is a professional drag racer - you should see her 18 wheeler and her GARAGE full of cars (which is really like a huge warehouse - I went in there the other day and it is just amazing! I, personally don't like car racing but she's been racing the boys since she was 13 years old (up and down Long Point at 3 in the morning is where it all began).

Only thing is that all the top players were on strike except some of the Europeans played in their leagues during the strike.

I've run into a few people like Morris. I like the part about the guy who got sent to the penalty box on purpose. The fashion show scene was great as was the flag that they pulled up with a rope. I love it when ol' boy talks to his dog and his wife is driving that van about 100 MPH down the hill.
