I like the Oregon part... I wish we had some unis with diamond plate shapes in the knee pads... They would look sharp!

My favorite Unis are:

Dallas Carter - I love the Red/Sky Blue color scheme.
ET - How can you go wrong with all Black w/ Red and white trim.
SV - Simple and effective. One of the best.
Rowlett - Ive always liked their uniforms. Marroon with Navy blue. Looks cool.

Oh yeah, I kinda like SA Madisons uniform. Also like Reagan and SV. Then again I also like Pflugerville and Copperas Coves uniforms. SLCs unis look nice on tv. Westfields uniforms look good to me because I think black and red are the best 2 uniform colors.

It's an East Texas thing. A&M has more support from ET (East of I-35 and north of I-10) than any other part of the state.

It's also not that far away from Lufkin. I saw a lot more Aggie fans in Mt. Pleasant than I ever did in San Antonio.

I know at Carroll they were sponsored by Nike last year and will be sponsored by Under Armor this year. I think that they paid for all of the uniforms. Also at Carroll the players have to supply their own cleats.

If they get sponsored, more power to 'em, at least it is no waste of taxpayer dough. However, the last place team in district 30-5a is NOT getting paid by Nike to wear their uniforms, and you better believe that valley schools need lots more stuff more than Nike uni's.

On the other hand, I have some real problems with ever encroaching corporate sponsorship in HS athletics. I just don't like the idea of HS kids being used as walking advertisments.

IKE's home Uniforms are awesome. All black with gold lettering and the black helmut with the distinct eagle with IKE written in the flap of the wing. I don't know how many of you have been to Thorne Stadium, but on the Campbell Center's wall that faces the stadium they have the four high school's logos with the Aldine ISD logo in the middle. That looks awesome too, although IKE's was missing this year. You can tell where it was, but it isn't there anymore. Also, I don't know if anyone knows what they are going to do with the field house this up coming year because they are going to expand the Campbell Center's North wall over the field house. I read in the District newspaper that it was going to be moved for the 2006 football season, but it didn't say where. I know you said not your own, but I still like Aldine's "A" on their helmut. They changed the uniforms this year, but kept the helmuts the same...awesome.

They have every right to put Katy on the list. Our uniforms have been the same since day one. The colors have been red and white since the school was opened way back when. Just because Wisconsin has the same colors does not mean anything. Every school has colors that some other school has. It does not mean they copied or anything like that.

schools have always made deals with distributers for their equipment. nike and reebok, etal have gotten into the game and offer their stuff at wholesale figures to get the sales. nothing has changed except the logos . a good friend of mine travels around the state doing this exact thing for a nike distributer. very cutthroat business btw.

Katy stands out for sure. You don't see allot of red and white around. You see allot for blues, purples and greens. The RED is gorgeous! The uniforms are classic. And the RED really works well when we are playing around Christmas time. :D

By the way, a study done in Europe recently indicated that, all other things being equal, a team that wears red has a competitive advantage over other teams, and that in the Olympics, boxers in red have a long term statistical statistical advantage over the boxers in blue. There is a subtle psychological effect when your opponent wears red. There is a reason why the ancient Spartans always wore red cloaks into battle.

Red and white are great colors together--clean, classic. It's is hard to mess up red and white, although my Harlingen Cardinals did, by adding those damned "Denver Bronco" stripes to the jerseys and pants.

In my mind one of the best logos in HS football is Abilene Cooper's Couger-- It is a stylized Cougar head with jaws that form the letter "C" for Cooper. It is instantly recognizable and unique. I also agree that the Katy logo's look smudged up from the stands, but cool up close.

I would also like to add Judson to my list of favorites-- simply for not changing a dang thing even the cut of the jerseys since the '80's. I watched them in the playoffs and it to me back to when I was just a wee man... The stylized J is pretty cool, and I always like when teams incorporate gray (not silver). It gives the uni's an old-timey feel, which is always cool.

Red Stands out.....Why do you think Red sports cars get more tickets than anyother color? I love red, they are my gang colors........(Just Kidding)....When You go to a Katy or Memorial game it's cool to look at the sideline all the way to the top of the stands and see one color just stand out.

I am not sure if there is still a movement to do it, but not too long ago there were people that wanted a new logo because the current one is a variation on a military logo and anybody can use it and sell stuff with the logo on it without paying the district. I don't think that the logo is in danger of being changed anymore, but a few years ago there was a real possibility that there would have been a different logo on Carroll's helmets.

Those are great lookin' uni's. They are the same style from the 80's too. If you look at the pictures of our 83 State Championship team, the only thing different are the socks, and they were the same up until a few years ago.

I love Smithson Valleys uniforms b/c they are classic and kinda like Penn St. I dunno why I like 'em so much i just love the navy & white and the single stripe in the helmet... Just so clean... Also pictured is Southlake Carroll, in my opinion, only look good with the black pants, I love that look though. Another one is Euless Trinity's home jerseys, all black, and that pic that used to be on the front page w/ Dmitri Nance... with that black visor and the black uni's! MANNN i love it.

you have your choice out of hundreds of HS's in Texas that copy from college and the pros (spring westfield=denver, Dobie=Texas, North Shore=SMU, the countless "St. Louis Rams" style helmets, and tons more)and you chose the poor old falcons to beat up on. The season was rough enough, now i got you in here insultin the threads, where does it end?

Our colors are navy, red, and white not the black red and white scheme in atlanta. Actually 24-5A is the most original district in all of HS sports:rolleyes: We pretty much follow whatever Atlanta does (we just make it look good), Brazoswood is a blue/silver version of Tampa, Ball uses LSU but replacwes the tiger with a little tornado. Pearlands helmets remind me of Purdue. Creeks colors are A&Mish and they also use generic wildcat #8 for their logo. I honestly think that the Alvin yellowjacket is the same yellowjacket that you find in the Madden "create a team" logos. The only team that actually is anything original is Brook (wolverines) but their black and red color scheme doesnt go to well with it (almost makes it look like they are trying to hard to be intimidating). Maybe the new Creekside HS opening up soon will be original.

Yeah I picked them b/c they beat Katy in '04 LOL. But Clear Lake's Texas Longhorn impression is disgustingly ugly and might be one of the worst of the copiers.

I like the E. Trinity uniforms, and Hayes Consolidated as well. Wylie looks sharp as well with the big W on the helmet. Lufkin's are sharp when wearing the all purple, but wish they would put the gold back in it a little.

Red Stands out.....Why do you think Red sports cars get more tickets than anyother color? I love red, they are my gang colors........(Just Kidding)....When You go to a Katy or Memorial game it's cool to look at the sideline all the way to the top of the stands and see one color just stand out.

I think I'll have to vote for Midland Lee, but that might have more to do w/ old rivalries more than anything else. Outside the dist., Austin Westlake; 4-A, Brownwood Lions; but all of those choices are prob. heavily influenced by the schls.' past records.
