What a game... So close the whole way - definately didnt expect us to get involved in a shoot out - EVER... So my thoughts:
Wow Clear Springs WRs are good... The DBs were very good in the 2nd half at getting to the ball... Ur QB was very accurate and smart... Well run spread system...
U guys deserved to win, we made all the mistakes... We had way too many turnovers and yall had one... That was what killed us most... Very frustrating... 4 fumbles (2 lost) lots of interceptions...
I thought our two biggest problems were A. we came out and gave the WRs too much space... Clear Springs ran that WR screen play and for the whole first half we couldnt stop it... We gave them too much room... I felt like we fixed it pretty well in the 2nd half... B. Way too many turnovers - poorly timed as well...
I was shocked that they put 8 on the line of scrimmage and we still ran pretty well against it... 2 massive runs... I was also surprised by how many big plays the game produced... It was a shootout... Something we've never been a part of - ever.......
Clear Springs was very good, very methodical, well coached, and ran an offense that was very difficult for us to stop as we are a team that backs off quite a bit and keeps everything in front of us... But anyways good game...
I didnt like the pass interference call on the 4th and 9 that led to a TD for yall, but thats just how it is... We still could have and maybe to some extent should have found a way to win - and we failed... Good luck against Katy Clear Springs
Thanks, Memorial players for a great season... With a Sophmore starting at RB and a Junior starting at QB and losing so much from last year, in all honesty this should have been a down year for us, but yall had a great season... Fun to watch... Good luck next season - hopefully I will be in Austin checkin up on y'all every now and then
