Some stats I put together...

In the 2000's, Katy has played 47 playoff games. That is including Stratford and Atascocita from this year. The record is 42-5 with losses coming to Houston Madison '01, Smithson Valley '02, Clear Lake '04, SLC '05, and Cy Falls '06.

That puts the playoff winning percentage at 89.4%

They have scored a total of 1,730 points in those 47 games. Their opponent has scored a combined total of only 579, an amount the 2000 team accomplished in 16 games en route to their first undefeated season.

From 2000-2009 they have outscored their opponents in the playoffs...

To me, the craziest thing to think about is that if Katy makes it to state this year, they will only have missed out on a total of nine possible playoff games through ten seasons. And four of those games were from 2001 after losing in the second round. 60 games possible, 51 played. That would be wild.

If only that Vince Young could have been 3 and done. ;):D

Katy was 21-4 on-the-field from 1994-1999 (forfeiting two of those wins in 1998) making them 63-9 over the past 16 seasons in the playoffs, with on-the-field losses to Plano '94, Yates '95, Houston Lamar '96, and Garland '99

Very true. I just wish UIL would have let Midland Lee keep the trophy and let the game still go on. What a waste of a state championship game.

I was at that Lamar game in '96 and that was one of the ugliest losses I've seen in the 15 years I've followed Katy football. Not a fun game to watch.
