A disgrace. Pittsburg - don't accept a Super Bowl ring - give it to the refs - they earned it more than you - pathetic.
1) The Jackson TD was wiped out by a ticky-tack offensive pass interference - +7 pts.
2) Roethlesberger did not score - my 12 year old dog saw that +14 pts.
3) Jackson scored again late in the second qtr. Hows that you ask? His left foot was in on the long pass - his right foot kicked the Pylon! - TD! Duh - these refs were idiots +21 pts
4) The holding call on the 4th qtr. Stevens pass to the one inch line was a phantom call +28 pts.
Final score
Refs for Pittsburgh - 28 points
Seahawks - who cares
What a laugher. And remember - I didn't care who won - just an observer. Everyone loses because the referees were obviously pulling for the Bus.

Well congratulations you stupid zebras for those bad calls. I really have to tip my hat to your ref skills and you did your job. Maybe tommorow Joey Porter will run his mouth again to the media about how bad you guys were tonight.

I'm being dead serious - I think the refs may have wanted Pitt to win. How about the 15 yard penalty against Hasselback for his tackle on the int. Their call? They said "No. 8 blocked below the waist" Say what? He was tackling the db running back the int. you idiots.
This was the worst officiated game I have ever witnessed.

The refs made several poor decisions in their calls which altered this game. The Steelers owe the players in stripes big time. If Hines Ward won't give the Zebras the MVP trophy then the Steelers should at least invite the rips to ride in the victory parade.

I was going for the Seahawks but how do you figure Rothesberger did not score? He certainly did.
The first TD by Jackson was a ticky tak call, I will give you that.
The holding call was a good call.
Bottom line is, Seattle has theirselves to blame; Jeremy Stevens dropped too many key passes; there was poor clock managment and terrible play calling.

If the lame penalty calls made against the Seahawks was obvious to us, it had to be obvious to everyone in the nation, except of course the twin cities of Pittsburgh and Detroit. The NFL should call for an investigation, but wait, that would mean investigating themselves. For all we know, the winner may have already been determined prior to the game (kinda like pro wrestling) and the refs were there only to make sure the pre-determined winner did infact win this game.

I like you but please. They have a instant replay for a reason do you want them to slow them game even more? Did you forget the Colt's game?? No comparison?? The Steelers won by 11 not 1!! I am sorry but you know what kind of Steeler fan i am and i defend them. There was no conspiracy trust me!! I am sorry but the Steelers earned that victory. Cry me a river!! Nobody has given the Steelers ****. They were the 1st team to ever beat the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd seed TO make the Super Bowl. Not to mention on the road!To say there was some kind of conspiracy is delusional to say the least.

On the Seahawks int. did anyone else see the block in the back against Roethlisberger by one of the Seahawks players? I TIVO'd it... at the Steelers 40 yd line... minus 5 yd for the penalty = the Steelers 45 yd line instead of their 20. Where were the refs on that?
Big Ben did score...
The TD Pass Int. call was a ticky-tack call...
The illegal block was a bad call.
Still, you can't say the Seahawks would have won definitively; Pit. might have pushed for a comeback win. You can go through and play the what-if game, but the point is that Seattle missed TONS of opportunities. Plus, complaining won't change the outcome. I'm happy for the Bus. He had a great career.

I didn't have a dog in the fight and thought the officiating was disgraceful. It must have been the Bettis story and the fact Pittsburg is a much more popular franchise (merchandise wise) than the Seattle Seahawks.
Seattle was hosed big time on the holding call when they got down to the two yard line about to take the lead. Pathetic. The even more appalling thing was the call on Matt Hasselbeck for "blocking below the waist" after the interception.
I'd be incredibly pissed if I was a Seattle supporter. You never know when you'll be back in this kind of situation with free agency, etc.
I agree with the title of this thread.

Sorry my man Pack0808 - you're a huge Steeler fan and you're wrong here. KT hit the nail on the head and so did the writer in the noted article. Every single announcer I listened to including Madden said the refs stunk. Salisbery from ESPN said the refs were the MVP AFTER I wrote this post. Here's one line from the article linked to:
If you read between the lines, though, they pretty much spelled out in bold letters that they had plenty of help in handing Pittsburgh its fifth Lombardi Trophy.
Namely, the boys in black and white.
As I stated - I didn't care who won. I like Cowher. The Bettis story was touching, but got old. The Rooneys are classy owners. But, this was simply a horrid game. The officiating stunk - the absolute worst officiated game ever. Big Ben completed 9 passes and had two picks. The Stillers did not get a first down until 4 minutes into the second qtr. The Seahawks led in virtually every statistical category including turnovers - and it would have been even worse were it not for the refs.
Just a real shame for the NFL is really all you can say.

This thread is so aggy it makes me laugh. Perhaps you should have just gone with the good old "ran out of time" excuse because all the *****ing in the world won't change the fact that Seattle did not deserve to be there and their horrible inability to make plays cost them the game. If there was any justice, the NFL would have dragged that sorry *** excuse for a "championship" team off the field when they couldn't figure out how to run a two minute drill... TWICE! The true joke was the team playing in that god-awful shade of blue/green.

JTK - nowhere will you see me suggest Seattle was deserving, a great team, etc. -- both teams stunk it up to some degree, but certainly not one over the other. Suggesting "Seattle did not deserve to be there" is another thread for another day. The fact they represented the NFC is certainly not a positive for the conference. But, then, look at the last 5 years - who was deserving?
But - my thread stands - and is being suggested across the airwaves as we speak. Mike Greenberg just stated his mvp was...the refs. Colin Cowherd's primary topic this morning in just a few minutes will be -- the sucky refs. Tune in.

Agreed totally on the commercials Wide - lame is the word.
On the Big Ben phantom TD - Did you see the side judge on that call? He comes up - puts his foot down to mark the spot - then raises his hands for a TD:eek: -- the Three Stooges would be proud. Again - my beef/whine/whatever is with the REFS - not a team. To suggest Big Ben was clearly in is just too funny.
Cowherd's comments on ESPNradio:
The refs were "making stuff up"
"Pittsburgh t-shirt should be one for the Zebras, not the thumb".
His words, not mine.
C'mon gang - get real. If these same calls had been made at UT/USC -- UT loses - or if Dallas had been the culprit - not the Seagulls - you guys would be screaming today.

Some of yall act like these calls were so obvious? You have a right to your opinion and yes some of the calls were questionable, but to call it a consipracy is silly. The Seahawks did not deserve that game. They had their chances. They lost and rightfully so. The Steelers did what great teams do. They figured out how to win when they were not on their A game. To the calls. Holding can be called on any play. Holding is holding and sometimes it is on your team and sometime it is not. That is not some obvious call like a pi or interception they ruled incomplete. The Big Ben call was very hard to tell and very hard to over turn. Either way that was not 4th down. Pitt would have had the ball at the 1 inch line and most likely would have scored on the next play. The PI call could have easily been argued that he pushed. It was a slight push off but it was a push off. I guarantee if the defender did that they would have called defensive PI. The Hasselback call was a bad call but how big of a difference would that have made. The Steelers still would have the ball and still would have had good fg position. Not game changing at all. The Steelers actually could have been up by much more if Ben would not have thrown that horrible int on the 3rd and goal when he had the guy open. All he had to do is put air under it. The Steelers won fair and square and there was not some conspiracy. The Steelers simply made the plays when they had to. Cowherd is free to have his opinion but i disagree. He did say that he did not think it cost them the win if you kept listening. Either way the Steelers won and they earned it in a big way. Nobody has ever done what they did. They beat all the top NFL teams and 3 of those were on the road. The other was at a neutral site. Simply a great run. They were 15-1 last year and Ben has the best record of any qb in history in the 31 games he has played. so it is not that surprising to me. I knew they were capable. The game was not pretty but they got the job done. They won by 11 not by a last second fg and it should have been more.
