Did you see Maurice JD taking a knee rather than going in for the TD? I personally think is dumb logic. You literally take a knee on the 1 to run all the clock off, then you kick a fg with 1 second left to win it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLcfzHr_kjI (fast forward to the end if you already saw the highlights).

It's actually 100x worse than the Westbrook move from two years ago because the Eagles already had the lead in that game when he took a knee. He just wanted to run the clock out, rather than give the ball up.

The reasons for scoring in this case are obvious -
1) You're behind!
2) You're 12 inches from the goal line about to go in untouched?

And, you're going to risk a fg, regardless of how short it is?

Just dumb logic to me that goes against everything sane. Score the dang td, and trust your D.

I thought it was a really smart move and a move I was wanting Texas to do last season against Tech that ended up costing them the game.

The assumption is - making the score is a 100% given - when it isn't. I guess you can say "I trust a 21 yard fg over our lousy defense", but to me that's just illogical thinking.

Billichick had about a 75% chance of being correct last night - he got handed the 25% unfortunately for the Pats.

It was on the 1 yard line and Josh Scobee has a career 98.3% accuracy from that distance. I'm trusting that kind of percentage over my defense to hold them with two minutes to go every day of the week.
