That man makes me laugh so hard. From walking off the field after losing the Super Bowl to the Giants to dumb decisions like tonight maybe the media will stop praising him like he is a god...

But on a lighter note, having reggie wayne and tom brady on my fantasy football team rocked tonight!

I actually liked the call. It takes some balls to do something like that, he wanted to win it right then and there. Didn't want to give the Colts offense the ball with 2 minutes considering the way their D was playing.

I don't really like Belichek, but I respect him for not giving a damn.

The call may or may not have been a mistake but, not having a timeout to challenge the call was.

I liked the call but the mishandling of the timeouts is what killed them. Indy wins another game they shouldn't have.

The guy made a stupid move in my opinion, but that does not destroy his coaching career. He's certainly not a god like some anchors on Sportscenter conclude, but the guy certainly knows what he is doing most of the time. However, his ego does get in the way.

The call was idiotic at the pro level - beyond stupid. This ain't Pop Warner guys - it's the NFL. You punt the ball and force the other team to go 80 yards to beat you. Yes, there was plenty of time, but it's still what you do.

He never got over the Tyree catch.... which is quite funny.

I'd rather have Belicheck then Cartman.

Great....awesome...wonderful...but now as a coach you've told your defense.."I dont trust you in that situation" Good luck getting them to trust you as head coach for the remainder of the year. Terrible decision.

If someone like Lovie Smith, Mike Singeltary, or Gary Kubiak does this and loses...they are instantly being ripped to pieces.

Cowboys tried this same crap in philadelphia several years back and it backfired on them the same way. Never try that on the road, too many bad things can happen.

Yep! That happened the year that the 'Boys won their last championship. That gun toting Godless Swine/Sooner called the same play, TWICE!

Ummm........ The Patriots don't strike me as a team that will ever have any trust or locker room issues as long as Belichek is coach, I'm sure he knows what he is doing.

I'm not saying it was a "brilliant" play call, just that I understand and respect it. Apparently some cat's don't but that's cool.

People are just trying to kick Belichek while he's down IMO, cause it rarely happens.

I don't even like the patriots.

His press conference was funny - you know you were laughing.

"I thought we got the 1 yard".

"Coach - hmmm - it was 4th and 2".

"I knew that".

LOL, I did hear that, I honestly think he say's some of the stuff he says just to be a smart A-hole.

I'll never forget when the Pats beat the Chargers in the playoffs a few years ago.

LT was upset cause the PATS were celebrating.

Then he said "they(players) have no class, I guess they get it from their headcoach". I LMAO.

I think it was a stupid call but, since 2000 against the Colts alone, the Pats have gone for it on 4th down 12 times and converted 8 of those. They're 4 for 4 in the post season. Pats have won alot of games during this decade and don't see them changing their way of play much. I personally don't like the Patriots, but it was a gutsy call that backfired.

Go Cowboys (even though they s**ked yesterday)

I present two former Pats defensive players that disagree with you.

Tedy Bruschi

Rodney Harrison

Both had very strong opinions of their former coach and both feel that this will be a problem in the locker room. I agree with them.

It was A call not A career. He's doing something right because anyone can step in at QB and win games.

Show me an article with a current player saying they don't agree with his decision cause those are the only opinions that matter in this case..

Bruschi is obviously a prideful guy and I understand that. But they don't have any of the great defensive players they once had.

He was just on ESPN about an hour ago.

He said as a competitor(talking about himself not the current rosters feelings) your upset you didn't get the chance to close out the game. But in a day or 2 you'll get over it and prepare for your next opponent and it will be done with.

He also said Belichek was the greatest coach he ever played for and every decision he takes is what he believes is gonna give his team the best chance to win and you really respect that as a player.

Their defensive roster is filled with mostly 1,2 and 3 yr players that were getting tired and torched in the 4th quarter by Peyton Manning.

Last night he felt giving the ball to his hall of fame quarterback with 2 yards to go gave his team the best chance to win.

You make it sound like this will be a huge distraction for the rest of the year.

Just wondering, can it be viewed as confidence in the offense, as opposed to not having faith in the defense? I didn't see the game, but figured there might be another explanation.

Thats initially what I think is the HUGE factor. Its alot easier to explain what you did and get confidence back from vetran players that you have already established a relationship with than it is to do the same with a bunch of young players whom youve only been with a couple years. It may or may not cause long term damage...but my point is that his ego got in the way of a win on Sunday night. Not punting on 4th and 2 from the your own 27 when you are up with 2:00 left is down right stupid.

Point Made...

Hmmmm...reminds me of a certain wUS C coach that tried the same stunt back in 05 just to have his cojones handed to him...

Well the patriots had a 31-14 lead in the 4th quarter and the Colts cut that lead to 34-28.

That patriots D was getting worked over in the 4th quarter and they looked tired.

Instead of giving Manning a chance to win the game (against a young inexperienced defense that had been getting worked over in the 4th quarter) with 2 minutes to go he chose to give the ball to his best player and try to win it right there.

Ok so you think Belichek is an idiot, who can't coach and has a big ego.

His defense will be offended all year long, will perform poorly and they will probably miss the playoffs.

Because of this he will have to find 11 new starters on defense next year because he hurt their feelings. This 1 play will cause a major meltdown for the patriots.

I just think he did what he felt gave his team the best chance to win.

That this particular play call had nothing to do with his ego even though he does have a big ego.

Every single defensive player will play as hard as they can so they don't get cut or benched.

They will probably contend for a superbowl this year.

I dont think BB is an idiot...We all know he can coach. Im just saying that his ego got in the way of a win this weekend as it did in the SB against the Giants. Remember this.....

4th and 13 at NYG 31(6:49) (Shotgun) T.Brady passincomplete deep left to J.Gaffney.

4th and 13 and you decide to go for it rather than kick a FG???

There has been many. He thought the odds of completing a 4th and 13 was better than a 48-49 yard FG??? If any other coach pulls those stunts..he is comdemned for years.
