I'm sure no one here makes this mistake - but this Lee team is literally 100% oppo from about 6 weeks ago - just unreal what they've done.

Suffocating defense, and a newfound O. I probably like Garland here, but watch out!

Lee has really found some offense since district started. Defense may not be quite as good as last year but close. We pretty much run the same offense as last year but DAda Brown was injured early and really struggled until the last 2 weeks, he was really back full speed today. The difference this year is we have several running backs and a couple can flat out fly. We are also throwing the ball better than last. Offensively what I'm trying to say is there are alot more weapons than last. If they can avoid costly penalties and not turn the ball over Lee can hang with the big boys. I believe this is gonna be a fun one.

Exactly, more like 6 who can fly. I just wish we had some of our O-linemen back now, but hey the backups are playing great.

Man what a difference in this team from week 0 to now. These kids have impressed me tremendously this year. We are really playing good ball right now and Wagner has really settled down and is making some good reads.

Looking forward to the re-match, good luck Tyler Lee Boys you are making us proud.........

Yea they have really impressed me too, in fact the coaches have too. I told my beloved on the way home that I'm not sure this isn't the best job Owens and his staff have done since he's been at Lee.

Not sure... :)

In all seriousness, this looks to be a really good matchup. Lee has obviously turned it around after a tough start and is on a roll now. The Radiers always had the athletes, and now it seems that they are all pulling in the same direction. Their coaching staff deserves high praise for keeping those kids heads right and making sure they didnt lose hope or bail out when things looked bleak.

It may sound cliche', but mistakes will be huge in this game, and the team who makes the most will probably lose. Garland got its offense rolling against a top notch defensive team last week, and Lee is another very good defense. Can the Owls run against them? Can Lee get a strong pass rush and force Barnett into bad throws? Offensively, it appears that Lee has the speed to strech the field and may cause the Owls's defense some problems. Will they be able to sustain long drives? Can Garland force turnovers and set up short fields?

The Owls appeared to have come up with some answers to their shaky kicking game (at least for one week) against Berkner. Good to see...

Garland will be the visitor again, just like last year - we have to be the worst coin-flippin' team in the state...

This is a very good defense that held JT to 17 points and held Desoto to 28. It will come down to if Garland can stop the run or not. Lee is going to run the ball all night with a stable of backs. They run a very effective trap play and will throw in when the safties start to creep up.

When and where is the game?

Should be a good game then!!!

How did the garland district do in the playoffs?

10-5A is a little down this year. South Garland won their playoff game against Richardson, 31-7. Rowlett got fed to Skyline and lost 38-0 and North Garland lost to Lake Highlands 49-28 (North was down by 7 late when LH got two quick touchdowns). Garland went unbeaten in district but had some close games, due to inconsistency and maybe a touch of boredom...

Both. Garland's game the previous week had been cancelled due to weather - this game started two hours late. Just a sloppy game all around. GHS led 6-0 until LH's final drive... it was frustrating...

LH can run and throw. Zorn is a very good QB. Defense has been okay...

HOWEVER, the fact remains that we have not hit on all cylinders for even 1 game this season. Again, taking nothing from a very good program in Lee, man for man against ANYONE we have an incredible amount of talent.

We are one of the most talented teams in the state and if we can put it all together...LOOK OUT!
Trouble is, largely due to injury, we haven't shown that we can do that yet.

He wasnt the 5th string QB he was our #1 WR. Ricky Smith was our #1 WR and is a D1 prospect at WR. At the start of the year we had 3 SR QB's. So the two best did a series by series rotation. Before district our odd man out QB moved leaving us with 2. Our first district game we lost Dillen Ashton #14 to a torn ACL. With being down to one QB we moved up the two Soph QB's from JV. The next game the CrossTown Showdown with Bryan we lost Parris Colbert #1 to a torn ACL late in the 4th qtr. Jake Bromanski #9 finished the game and started the next game vs Belton where he hurt is trowing hand pretty bad, and our second Soph QB finished that game. Well there was alot of SR's that didnt want to lose because we didnt have an experenced QB so Ricky Smith #5 WR and Kyle Doll #84 TE became our new Qb's. And Ricky played very well we won our last 4 games and won a share of the district championship. Our Soph QB's will be bigger and better next year so take note of Jake Bromonski we will be very good next year.

5th string is not quite correct. Consol lost its starter and backup, then went with 2 kids from JV, then ended up moving a WR to qb. So it was their 5th qb of the season. Rough year for injuries for Consol and they just had to run into a buzzsaw that Lee has turned into. Should be a good game. I won't be shocked at all if Lee wins. Good luck to both sides.

Owl family, be afraid. We suffered a BIG injury this week in Owl Camp. You may or may not see a change in the line-up because this kid is as tough as they come, and has as much heart as anyone I have ever seen. It would take an act of God to keep him off the field on Saturday, but he will certainly be effected. This injury is SIGNIFICANT because it is one of our main cogs. Cross your fingers and your toes.

Tyler Lee's #4 was a boss.
Officiating crew at the game should be permanently banned from Texas high school football.
Garland needs to go back to the Wing T.
Tyler Lee needs an offensive line coach who teaches his boys to block and not just hold and be drug around.

Anyone who blames your QB should feel ashamed, he played a great game. The officiating was horrindous both ways and really had no outcome on the game either way.

Lee had 136 yds and Garland had 152 yds in penalties. Both teams played great defense and sloppy offense yesterday. Is the QB ok?

While I appreciate the football analysis of the non-football playing 16-year old students from GHS... oh wait, no I DON'T appreciate it at all, and could give a crap about their football opinions. If you blame Barnett for anything other than running on the last play rather than throwing the prayer of a hail mary, you should be ashamed. It is sad tht OUR QB gets more support from the Tylerites who were at the game, than our own fans.
He is stable, has feeling and movement in all of his extremities, and is laughing and talking this morning. So far, it looks like a bruise to either his spine and his spinal cord. GOD IS GOOD.
BTW... last night he set the single season passing record with around 2,100 yds.
Has 19 TD's to 6 INT's 62% completions & 5 rushing TD's.
OH, AND he played hurt the last 9 games of this season, most of those with MULTIPLE injuries.

Blame a kid with those #'s if you want, but know that you are wrong.

Our offensive coaching is just terrible, and it has been for a few years. I think Jared did an amazing job for what the coaches gave him. It makes me feel terrible to think that some punka** kids might give him a hard time.

I agree - and i am glad that he is doing okay. i hope he heals up and has a great career at Iowa State... and I hope our offensive staff can figure out a way to utilize the talent we have to the best of their ablilties during this offseason...

+well here we are again, with all the talent in the world and no championship!!! could it be coaching ? Why dont they throw more down the middle? When they go up, they play not to lose instead of staying aggressive and its not fair to the kids . I just understand the logic behind that. When SLC goes up,they keep pouring it on,so does the ALLENS the TRINITYS the SKYLINES so why cant we.And also the kick offs, what the heck, you bring up a kid from the JV that can kick the ball way deep and for what so he could those pooch kicks and give the ball to the other team close to mid field , BRILLIANT!!!! Nothing more to say

My take:

1. Best of luck to Lee.....your kids have a lot of heart and played wonderfully...like us, though, I don't have much hope for getting past next week, but I sure hope you do........#4 is a beast.....

2. The officiating in the first half, especially, was horrible....they semed to be trying to not be the issue by making calls, but became the issue for not making obvious calls....on both sides.

3. The holding by #72, especially, was attrocious...grabbing and twisting to the ground and rolling up, time after time, cut blocking like it was a virtue....that kind of crap will rip some ACL's....and the refs didn't stop him....I think he got one ACL and twisted another....nice work, refs....I've never been madder at a HS game than I was during the 2nd qtr.......the kid played dirty, but it was the refs fault because they let him do so.

4. Our defense was let down by inconsistant offense...again. They didn't deserve to lose.....the offense did though, so we got what we deserved.

5. Lee fans have proved to be some of the greatest.....again, best of luck to you all...maybe we'll see you again next year.
