Congrats on coming home. We kept your thread alive until it went into the Classics. You can read through all the 13 pages of the thread. You're down in 15th place now because we've had a lot of people posting a lot. I'm back in Texas now and had over 10K posts during the time I was in Kyrgyzstan.

Euless Trinity beat Judson for the D1 title and SLC won the D2 title.

Everybody dogged out the Lufkin band and SLC cried about having to play Lufkin in Nacogdoches. We had Poster awards and you won Military Man of the Year. I don't remember if you won any other awards. We have a complete awards list on one of the pages in the main forum, but we had a separate forum for almost 70 awards. I also have a forum up for Superbracket playoffs. After tonight, we'll be playing the title game between SLC and Katy (with much contention!)

Hrm, And to this very day, I hate southlake...funny how not everything changes after 4month (long story I got sick and was in the hopital for 2weeks and in Medical Rehabiltion Platoon for 2 weeks before I could go back to training), but... The I have been able to keep up alittle bit with Profootball, and College football (HOOK'EM), and a very little about SLC...

Apprently SLC is a tougher District this year, hopefully they lose...

I did miss Texas very much, espically In the platoon I finished with (3rd BN Kilo Co.) because everyone was either from Northern Cali, or Chicago, or Oragan, and of course they think Texas football is nothing... well they had another thing coming if they tried to debate that stuff with me....

and I YAY coppell doesnt have to get killed again...woohoo

I think we quit at around 1400 responses. I hit 11K, you hit 8K, Mad Fan hit 2K, dragoncrew hit 1K, and Seguin hit 1K all within 24 hours of each other on that thread.

Welcome home, Marine. Your Cowboys didn't make it to the playoffs last year but Coppell moved to District 6-5A with the new alignment. Our old district changed into 7-5A. Your Cowboys should do well in that district.
Go out and have some fun now - there's nothing like a week of R&R to revitalize the soul.

Yeah, I was pretty upset that My Coppell Cowboys didnt make the play-offs, if they can get to playing like a team this next they should have a pretty easy run in 6-5A (sorry FarmerFan), but the only real Challenge in 6-5A is Lewisville Herborn (excuse my spelling as ushal I didnt have much time to work on that a boot camp surprisingly).

In terms of the Coppell/Southlake rivalry it wasnt really a rivalry anymore, it was just Southlake pounding the Tar out of Coppell, year in an year out. It give Coppell a Chance to build its newist rivarly with Dallas Jesuit now in 7-5A (with the rest of Coppells old district).

I called one of my old football buddys today when I got home to find out more about Moody...USC huh...thats trash, im disappointed...

Anway, Its late, I was out all night chasing tail, because being away from the opposite sex for 4 months isnt fun...Its gunna suck on my first real deployment over seas to Iraq or where ever I maybe going...

To Any buddy whos thinking about joining Military come talk to me, Ill get you a referal...and this in no way has anything to do with me trying to get a promotion.

Sorry to bump an old thread but Week 8 we played Coppell. It was a real shame too, since we had no business losing the game and it was a real heartbreaker because we couldnt catch a break. We went 60 yards in our first 3 plays but were stuffed 3 straight times and settled for a field goal for a 3-0 lead. Then on 4th and Goal on about the 20 Coppell threw it up in the end zone and Emmanual Moody catches it out of bounds. They called it a touchdown though and all of our coaches were mad along with the sidelines. We then threw 2 interceptions and were down 21-3 at half. We came out at halftime and threw another pick and it was 28-3. But then we came storming back and Blake Cantu scored 2 touchdowns in 2 plays in early in the 4th quarter to make it 28-16 after we dropped our 2 point conversion. Then we dropped the onside kick which was heartbreaking because it was right in our hands and it fell out. We stripped Moody and got the ball back with about 5 minutes to go still 28-16. But on the next play after that we threw an interception right back. Coppell then went about 10 plays and chewed the clock before scoring to make it 35-16. With about 2 minutes to go we threw an interception on the first play after getting the ball back.

So in a nutshell we threw 5 interceptions, went 2 for 8 in the red zone and outgained you guys in total yards but lost. I was so frustrated after the game too along with the rest of my team because we had it and moved the ball well but just couldnt punch it in. It was our best night of the year passing the ball and Joe had a really good game except for his few mistakes. But that happened to us in every game this season. We will be better next year being more comfortable in our new offense.

I'm not taking away from the win because both teams played great games. But if there is a such thing as dominating a game and losing that was it. We had only one 3 and out all night, and that was because we picked off a pass in the end zone and got tackled at the 1. We had at least 8 drives of 50+ yards and reached the red zone 8 times. But #17 and #20 would pick it off when we were about to score. I think #17 had 4 interceptions. If I remember correctly, Joe was perfect passing outside the red zone(no incompletions or ints). The only flaw we had was running the ball, I believe we were held under 2 yards a carry but that happened in many games for us it wasn't one of our strong points.

But I was talking to some of your players at the basketball game and they acknowledged that we did better than they did but just came up with the plays when it mattered. They were nice people too and weren't rude or anything. Moody did absolutely nothing, it was the fullback(#32) that did the work.
