View Full Version : Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers

Getting an early start on this game... If Dallas can knock off the Packers, they could reel off another 3 wins!

The Packers don't run the ball well and if the defensive line can put pressure on Rodgers, the Cowboys have a great shot at winning this one.

Lambeau Field is the place and if the cold front isn't early, it will be a cool 50 degrees with a chance of showers. Or it could be SNOW!

I'll be honest, I don't like going into Lambeau the week after the Packers lose to Tampa Bay. They will be in panic mode and will be dangerous and we sure don't need the boys to have a letdown after an emotional big divisional win.

Ditto - and why the heck are we going there two years in a row? GB will play like a totally desperate 4-4 team on the verge of losing their season. Dallas will be flat - plain and simple.

I've just remembered, that the 'Boys had to go to Lambeau, the week after playing Philly last year, in September. The difference though, is that they had Philly in Irving last year, and it was a Monday Night game. They went to Lambeau on a short week last year.

I was afraid of the 'Boys having a letdown against the Seahawks, after facing the Falcons. They just need to stay focused, and keep the blue collar/team, mentality.

Another thing! I haven't seen a Cowboys team look this physical, since the early '90s.

This one has trap written all over it. It'll be interesting to see if this new Cowboys team gets tripped up like the old ones would.

I don't think being flat will be an issue. GB is horrible and their oline is one of the worst in the league. Dware is going to have a field day. I also look for a continuing emergence from Williams with Austin getting another two td's. Oh Swami!:D

I agree... Cowboys want to stay on a roll and smell blood. Cowboys by 14! The Cowboy offense is better. The Cowboy defense is much better!

From DMN

Cowboys coach Wade Phillips said he thought everybody, including center Andre Gurode, made it through the Eagles game without significant injury. Gurode left the game after being banged up but returned. Return specialist Allen Rossum (hamstring) should be the only player questionable for Sunday's game.

Its going to be very interesting to see how Dallas handles this game.

Coming off a big win in Philly, GB pissed after losing to TB, not a must win game for the Boyz, played at Lambeau..............

I would expect Dallas wouldn't be as sharp as they looked in Philly but will they stink it up or play a good game? If they play a good game win or lose, I might start to think they can really do something this year, if not, get ready for another December not to remember.

Given their overall team health and the matchup advantages they have I'm going to say a win is required to cement that they are a completely changed team. The teams of recent years would struggle or dump a game like this. Lambeau or not, this is a seriously winnable game. If the focus and drive is markedly different with this squad they'll go in and get a 10-14 point win. If that plays out, look out.

How many points are we away from an undefeated season again? It is scary to think what this team could do considering the talent they have. I would love to see them blow out Green Bay and scare the hell out of the teams left on their schedule.

Between regular season and playoff games, the Packers lost at Dallas 7 or 8 times in a row in the 90's before Dallas had to go up there and lose in 1997.

I was in Green Bay in the middle of October and have a few thoughts:

1. I'm glad Lambeau isn't right on Green Bay/Lake Michigan and a few miles away! It could be worse.
2. Like the rest of my trip to Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, both the Upper Peninsula and lower Michigan, and Ontario, it was cold, windy, and raining in Green Bay. The weather might be far worse a month later.
3. I like all the banners and signs in town talking about past Packers.
4. Wichita Falls is larger than Green Bay. Where's our football team?:D
5. The enclosed add-on facility with the restaurants and clubs is a great add-on to Lambeau. That place might be the frozen tundra, but you do have a place to thaw out!:D

1. We needed 3 more points vs. the Giants or a stop on their last drive. You can pick any turnover we had and it would've turned the game because NY got almost all their points after turnovers, but here were the bad ones:

Giants ball at Dallas 27. Got a FG.
Giants ball at Dallas 28. Got a TD.

Romo had a 29 QB rating vs. the Giants. We just blew that game.

2. Denver was a winnable game. The Broncos played good D, but we only scored 10 and only needed a TD inside the 5 at the end of the game to head to OT.

Temperature tomorrow for game is 47 degrees. Cowboys win.

They are not a cold weather team.
They proved that because they are idiots when it comes to cold weather. Especially Romo. They dress in normal uniforms when it is freezing because the are "tough guys" and then they go out and lay an egg because they are ill prepared for cold weather and can't perform because they are cold.

Not the case tomorrow!:)

Im a huge packers fan but the cowboys will win this game buy double digits..

The packers have no running game to speak of..They have a joke of a offensive line they have given up 37 sacks on the season there also starting there 6th diff combonation at the line so they wont have experince playing together..This could be a good coming out game for spencer and Ware should just destroy them..

Also gbs best pass rusher is out for the game kampman not just that but his backups out to so were going to be starting 7th round draft pick brad jones at olb at only 230 the cowboys should just run to his side all day..

In a game they didn't have to win, the Cowboys delivered a mistake filled, pentalty riddled, lackadaisical performance and accomplished their mission which was not to win.

So, instead of gaining a stranglehold on the division, they fall back into mediocrity. Game played out just as I had figured.

Romo threw him great passes today and pretty good last week. Before last week Romo failed on getting decent throws to Williams. Lets see what Austin can do now that he is no longer a secret, like today. Dallas may not have a great reciever. I remember a few years back when Romo was thought to be the salvation of the cowboys. Today he looks like John Roach.

It was Romo's fault that he threw it right in his hands and hit him in the face and he still dropped it.

But, whats the difference? Luckily makes a catch and then fumbles in the middle of the field.

No today wasn't romos fault Roys drops can be viewed as the reason they lost. My rant on romo comes from the games before last week. He couldn't throw a decent ball to Roy. He nearly got him killed. Roy can correct his problem in a one game time span, romo won't ever correct his problem unless they quit playing football in late November and December. They didn't win last year with romo when the idiot was still on the team catching passes.

Roy was terrible today, no doubt. :)

True dat. I will say they at least looked like they had been on the same practice field a bit. I cannot understand their seeming inability to get on the same page. They've had enough time to get it together.

I am starting to look at Romo as a good but not great player. Biggest fear is that his development may have already peaked.

Man! I just wonder, what if Sean Payton would've gotten his hands on Romo like he wanted to? Some people don't remember but, Brees was Payton's second choice. He wanted Tony from day 1!

Now, if Jerry could check his own ego, then I don't think it would be too late for Shanahan or Holmgren to groom Tony.

Who can say? Just like any other prospect, guys that are highly touted can be busts and Hall of Famers sometimes come out of nowhere. Not sure if Romo is in between or somewhere else.

But I fully agree, an experienced hand to guide him would be good.
