View Full Version : So you Obama voters want the Federal Government to run healthcare?

To the Congress:
The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - you have had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.
Social Security was established in 1935 - you have had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.
Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - you have had 71 years to get it right; it is broke.
The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - you've had 44 years to get it right; they are broke.
Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - you have had 39 years to get it right; it is broke.
Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new source: the American taxpayer.
And finally, to set a new record:
"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.
So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?
20% of our entire economy?
With all due respect,
Are you crazy?

Why is it that the average joe can do a little research and figure out this healthcare plan is a distaster but the Federal government can't? How ignorant does someone have be to think that this attempt at a government run program will be any different or more succesfull than any other we've ever tried. I guess once Americans are jumping the border INTO Mexico looking for a better life, then they'll realize their mistakes?

Well....no...the congress and the president.....
BTW....in that chain of f-ups, who is in charge of this f-up.....question answered....;)
In the light of the fact that the economy is the pressing issue that any reasonable president should be focused on....both he and Pelosi and the ruling Democrats are hell bent on passing this healthcare bill in spite of the growing evidence that the economy is the big issue.....to polls, the thing you libs always fall back on, say that the populace is way more interested in the economy than healthcare.
People are hurting here and need jobs...10.2% unemployment....people need to be working to fund your monstrosity of a healthcare bill.
The total lack of priority here is laughable and makes you libs look foolish in the face of mounting evidence otherwise.
Instead of point made, maybe it should be point on top of my head.

Don't you think there is a pretty high posititve correlation between those who voted for Obama and those who voted for a Democratic representative in the current Congress? I suspect the answer is an overwhelming affirmative. So, yes, he could have made the title "Democratic" voters instead of "Obama" voters, but the point is largely the same.

My point is that this healthcare baby is Harry Reid and Pelosi's baby and Obama is the delivering doctor and hospital all wrapped up in one...make no mistake about it.....when this thing crumbles, it's their heads that will be on the block...and the ignorant fools who voted them in will have ultimate blame for it.

Like social security this can not be unscrewed.
The bill will be paid. And in time even minimum wage workers will ignore it like the medicare and social security $s coming out of their paychecks now.
The wealthy will be less wealthy and employ fewer workers to make up for it.
It's funny in a way. Darwin had it all wrong. Government insures survival (the fittest pay for it).

1. when you do create threads.... they're copypasta. it's pretty annoying, cuz you spread 'em out and sucker me into thinking there's a link to an article or something more than an e-mail some 50 y/o who hates his life typed out in his basement a couple weeks ago, instead there's that.
2. politics/religion/ect. is no place for this message board. it's pretty sad if you come to a 5a football site to feel important and included about how you feel towards the government. there are political message boards for that.

Actually, you are correct, only to a point. In the instance of Russia, outside of Patton and a few of the more rouge generals, there was little support for a Russian attack.....the feds wanted to broker a peace...they thought Russia was manageable.....key generals steered them that way....they were wrong.
As for the other wars, poor planning and stratgey marked them....the generals had to fight controlled wars and had no clue how to do it and went for years trying to fight the guerilla Viet Cong in a traditional manner...never let special forces turn loose on them and expand those services to other than mostly a support group.

I blow that correlation up.
Actually no you don't. Dr Edward asserted:
Don't you think there is a pretty high posititve correlation between those who voted for Obama and those who voted for a Democratic representative in the current Congress? I suspect the answer is an overwhelming affirmative. So, yes, he could have made the title "Democratic" voters instead of "Obama" voters, but the point is largely the same.
He is simply stating that many and in fact most of the people who voted for Obama also voted democrat in other elections and other races. He is not stating that every Obama voter voted in this manner but rather that most did. I think this is a reasonable statement and you by yourself do not blow up the correlation but rather confirm it. By stating, as Dr. Edward did, that there is a "pretty high positive correlation between those who voted for Obama and those of voted for a Democratic representative in the current Congress." Dr. Edward inferrs that there is a population that voted for Obama but did not vote for a Democratic representative in the current congress. Your example confirms what must necessarily be inferred in Dr. Edwards statement.

Thanks for explaining. Before you did, I thought my vote countered every single voter who voted for Obama and a democratic Congessional candidate.
If I am very sick and want the best care in the world what country should I travel to?

I think that depends on how much money you have and may also depend on what you're sick with.
Politics way aside, I have stated may times I don't know what the answer to the healthcare debate is. That being said, I know that we are fond of saying we have the best healthcare in the world, but besides anecdotal evidence of wait times, I don't know that we do or that we do not.
I do understand that "health care touism" appears to be on the rise in Mexico/India. Cost would appear to be the biggest reasons there I assume.

My "homeless-by-choice" 31 year old step-son just showed up and asked me to take him to the hospital about an hour ago. He has had a really bad sore throat for the last 4 days. I shined the flashlight down his throat and he has a puss patch about the size of a silver dollar on one side of his throat.
I suggested he go to Parkland and get treatment....I offered to take him....he said no, he'd just go to Baylor Garland....I said why...he said that he would be at Parklnad for a whole day waiting for treatment, but at Baylor Garland, he would get seen in a few hours and they can't refuse him treatment, by law.
Funny that the homeless and the illegals have it figured out, but the rest of America is in a cloud.

yes they can. everyone who shades a doorway at an er gets a medical evaluation which determines whether the problem is life or limb threatening. if it is deemed a clinic visit, the patient can and often is required to pay in advance before being treated.

Apparently they have figured out the hospitals who won't do that.
I deliver hospital bills to people who will never pay them because they are transient and live at a place for 3-6 months and move on, or are illegal and will move on soon anyway.....I get the bills for months after they are long gone...believe me, they have it figured out.
