But what is that compared to? It still may be the number 1 school. Also, do it by number of posts...i bet Southlake accounts for far more than 3.7 per cent of posts.

They definitely have more than 3.7% of the posts with the #2, #5, #7, and #10 posters and two more in the top 30. Their top 6 posters have 19,409 posts and that's 12.3% of the total. That's why this site needs people like Wide and me to break up the SLC party. We have a little over 100 less posts than the top 6 SLC guys.

all I remember is the close mindedness at Lufkin's audacity( that's courage for aggy) to schedule a playoff game after winning a coin toss that inconvenienced DragonNation. Some of the posters from SLC were incredibly subjective, saying Lufkin owed it to the state or to the fans to have it at Kyle Field or Texas Stadium. It was frustrating, but if you are right, it still does not mean the other fans will agree with you. Post your opinion, and stand behind it.

I always admired SLC from the '80s and 90's when Vernon was good and played them in 3A, till last year when I saw Lufkin blow the 2nd quarter and outplay them the other 3 at Floyd Casey. I left there that day thinking the best team did not win.

I would not say this board is dominated by anyone. Everybody has a chance to post their opinion, some are more correct than others. :D

Until someone proves otherwise, SLC is the program to compare to, for everyone. The fans have the right to brag, it's just the nature of the beast.
Wow, I can't believe this discussion is going on. When are 2-a-days?

yes but don't feel that the team that wins in a head to head game is the better team. It is called denial or now known as Matt Leinart syndrome.

whats weird is..slorch contradicts himself in there..he states how lufkin was the better team, but yet how slc is the program to compare to..

As it has always been discussed on the board how southlake people dominate it, well i have some numbers. im sure theyre off by a couple, but i went to the members list and went through every freaking one. i came up with some staggering numbers. not really.

Total Southlake users i.e.(live in southlake, went to school, dragons or southlake in username etc.): 81 users
Total Percent of board members: 3.7 percent

There ya go.

Southlake is one of 245 5a football schools...
1/245=0.0040816=0.41%...
3.7/0.41=9.02...
902% overpopulation of southlake fans...
it's like china, we need to get some controls in place.:p

Maybe we can get the KT's to put an embargo on new posters and not allow people from Southlake and then we can slowly stop talking to the SLC guys and they may leave. The problem is they like each other too much and would just talk to each other!:mad:

honestly not that day.

in the first half, LP should have been feeding Lane the ball. Insted he was the best decoy on the field. LP was outscored 21-7 in the second quarter( I think) with 2 turnovers. It was not the same playcalling I had seen at the other LP games in the first half.They lost by 7. Second half was LP the way the whole game should have been.
Trust me, I'm not saying SLC didn't deserve to win, they obviously made the plays to win. I'm just saying I didn't feel like they were definately the best team. It was still one of the best games I've ever seen.

Now this year's game, there was no doubt!!!

SLC has only dominated the boards the last 2 seasons or so... before that it was mostly East Texas fans like Lufkin, Longview, TL, etc. I'm not saying there werent many Dragon's fans here, but not the numbers that are on here nowadays. People used to kid around that this was easttexasfootball.com because of the numbers of Lufkin/Longview fans.

I was saying on that day at Floyd Casey I didn't think SLC was neccessarily the best team.

In looking at the big picture, from the 80's to now, it is very admirable what SLC has done with their program. You know this right? I mean it is incredible how fast y'all went from 3A to 5A and had very little growing pains. When you look at the community, the school, and the program, they are all in very distinguished company as far as commitment to excellence is concerned.

I am not envious of anything about SLC. I am quite satisfied with the schools my kids will attend. Stop flattering yourself that everyone wants to be you, because they do not. This goes for the TU fans that say we have BEVO envy too. GET OVER IT!!!

I started the ALL HEIL MACK thread for this very reason. I guess it applies to some SLC fans now too. You gotta lose this " worship or be killed" attitude. It's called winning with class for a reason.

You have a great program, nothing less, nothing more. LP, Katy, SV, Judson could all run with SLC on any given day on the football field. It's been a hell of a run. But I admire things about these and other schools. It doesn't make me envious. It makes me a high school football fan!

this is the statement that I do not understand. You are saying that you no longer admired Carroll because they won a game that you do not think they should have. That does not make any sense.

Ok i see where you could be confused. I wouldn't say I lost any respect at all for SLC that day. I should have used the word " and" instead of " till." My point being that I enjoyed watching that game, but felt LP had the better team after the game.

Sports history is filled with games and series where the best team didn't win on that given day. That's a whole new thread there.

My only beef with the SLC fans on this board was back in December when everyone was *****ing about going to SFA to play Lufkin, and your fans didn't even show up. Your team definately did, but the discussion was around whether LP's coach owed the public some kind of obligation to have the game at a big stadium. SLC posters were going nuts saying totally stupid things like, "Coach outlaw should have chosen Kyle Field as his home option. He owed it to the fans of Texas." Outlaw fulfilled his obligation by doing right by his team, his staff, and the fans from Lufkin.

This is the good part of the whole website. The ability to have a good discussion with real fans from the other teams.

I am not from Lufkin. My wife has family up there that is in the school administration. I have been a casual observer of their program, which is a very outstanding program. There is a ton of respect and I would submit, a healthy fear, between LP and SLC. It is what makes the playoffs great.
it ain't like LP can play Longview and SLC play Coppell every week, right?
Other than that, I have seen nothing to take away from SLC's fans.

OK like I said, when do 2 a days start?:D
