Assuming SLC wins District 5-5A and ET wins District 7-5A, a second round playoff game looks likely. Both teams should go D2 in 2006 as SLC has the fourth largest enrollment in the new 5-5A, and, ET has the fourth largest enrollment in the new 7-5A.
Its about time.
The fly in the ointment is that there will be four playoff teams in 2006 and that two teams will probably be sent to D1 (has that been decided yet?). If so, then two of the three teams with larger enrollments must make the playoffs in order for both SLC and ET to go D2. Or, vice versa, if only one team of the three makes it in each district, then SLC and ET could meet in D1.
To be continued.

i think this would be awesome. everybody wanted slc to play trinity last year and if things work out, this could turn out huge. one thing though, if it turns out like last year when both teams have perfect records, and now we play them, its a shame that one team will have to lose. of course this is all if slc meets trinity in the playoffs, which might not happen at all.

Well guess what, Southlake barely beat Grapevine. SGP is way better than Grapevine. So, if Southlake played SGP instead of Grapevine, then Southlake would have lost by more than the 7 points we lost to them. I have nothing but respect for Southlake, but our loss to SGP, I feel has been overrated. You watch next year, SGP will be a great team. I won't be surprised if they beat us again next year. I'll also be the first to admit that next year, I believe that Southlake will beat Trinity if they play. This year, I believe we would have won.

I believe that the UIL has the wrong number for LD Bell.
Bell had under 2000 students for grades 10-12 last year. Now the UIL is saying that they have 2700, which should then be multiplied by 1.33? No. I think that the 2709 Bell turned in was already multiplied. Someone should correct this.
They did the same thing for Lake Highlands and Granbury as well. It won't affect LH, but it might force Granbury to play DI when they shouldn't.
Trinity is nowhere near being a shoe-in for DII. Neither is Carroll. If GP and Bell don't make the playoffs, Trinity is DI. Carroll is behind Haltom, Keller, and Heritage. It might be a little harder for them to go DI.
