I am not sure if Louisiana week one is different from Texas week 1, but ECA already is playing Hoover in their week 1.

I am *really* questioning how legitimate ECA playing CC is...

It doesn't make any sense for ECA... Hoover, okay... Longview, okay... SLC, okay... Copperas Cove?!

Now, I am sure that statement is gonna make CC rage... Think about it, though.. What do all of those teams have in common(including ECA) that CC doesn't?? All have been ranked in the top 10 in the entire country at some point over the last 10 years... These inter-state battles are all about pride...

I totally agree with you but you took that one to heart alot...We are disrespected. Cove in general, in every sport, is disrespected. I dont know why there is so much hatred toward Cove. Mustve started with Killeen and spread through the state

A lot better last year as in going deeper in the playoffs yes. But get over yourself. Evangel is not what they used to be. And they problem won't be the team they were in the late 90s ever again..even though it seems thats what they are trying to do.

They seem to be wanting to get their *** kicked. They're gonna lose to Texas High. They're gonna lose to SLC. And they're gonna lose to Cove also. Then go on and claim they are the best again because they won Class 1A in Louisiana. It's going to be a trend that I guess we'll have to get used to.

It was in the Copperas Cove Leader Press this morning. Coach Welch is talking to Evangel and Spring. It will be settled soon enough.

Oh yeah, Fox Sports Southwest said the new district 16-4A is the toughest in the State (in any class). We'll see. Good luck to all next year. Cove will be fine.

there's a difference Tyler lee played a top national program cove didn't, Tyler lee was defending state Champs cove wasn't Tyler lee had more to prove than cove did, texas has played ohio twice in high school football and is 0-2 agaisnt them. Agaisnt lou team's texas is like what 15-3, and no offense to cove fan's cause i know for sure after i hit submit my PM box as well as this topic is gona turn into a let's bash temple thread. Disrespect in ever sport possibly for the chance that asside from football you flop in everything else, and for the last 10 years cove hasn't exploded onto the scene like they have this year. 04 was good we all saw that but then came the chance they had to prove them self's came play off's cedar park came out and pop end of story, this year was a different story cove came out and proved somthing the last time cove did this well was when ever they played midland lee when they had cedric benson (we all know what happend there). I think this year cove fan's are feeling them self's alittle to much yes they did good and i give prop's to them for representing 13-5a like they did but when was the last time they this good with out a gap in the time line? That's probably the one reasson people don't really give cove the respect that lufkin and south lake have, they are a yearly power houses cove is typically ehh once in a blue moon ok sure they have been play off contenders in 13-5a but with exception of this year when was the last time they got that far?

like i said im not trying to bash cove fan's or anything alot of people are just wounder why ECA is approaching cove with this but as long as u give the state of texas a win we are fine good luck in 4a..

Ya know, who gives a rats ***. It does not matter who we play. We will give it our best shot. As of right now, we have a lot of work to do to get back to where we were in 2005 and we have several months to work on it. Playing any team from another state weather it be Cove or Lufkin or whoever, we should at least give some support for our team representing this state against another weather we have a chance in hell or not.
It seems no matter what Cove has done it is never enough to satisify anyone but the Cove fans and that is all that matters to us. Just like you support your team we support ours.
The odds are against 99.9% of teams to win a state title every year and only a handful actually claim the prize each year. A lot of those teams have done it often and they have good programs. Eventually the cream sours and goes to the bottom and those at the bottom at some point will rise up. From where we started back in the late 70's to where we are today says a lot about our program. We are getting there slowly but at least we are moving.
It appears the 2006 schedule has some even better competition slated for the non district play and I like that but i know a bunch of people will still spout off that Cove does not play no body in non district play. I personally would like another game with Lufkin regardless of if we would win or not but just for that fact they were very good. Waco, that will be a good game and i would say at this point they should be the favorite to win the top spot in district but i still want my DAWGS to take it.

I will never point out any of my team mates like that. Im just going to say that Mario was one of our biggest playmakers, and is a true D1 prospect and his abscence hurt us a lot. It really hurt us even more because of the type of offense that Lufkin was.

I wasnt trying to gloat or anything, I was just trying to explain that the southlake fan had no right to say we dont belong here. Cove does get disrespected all the time in all sports. And to tell you the truth they deserve it, except for Football, and probally girls BBALL.

That was true. I could care less about the other sports except football.

I too think Mario would have made an impact in that game and a little better coaching during the first half. That is all in the past and we are not worried about tradition or a history leson as other schools like to gloat about. It is all about 2006 and getting ready for the next season.

It wasnt B Jones in that play. Mario Goins our all district DB broke his collarbone against Garland. Jones was gettin a breather and they brought in Millsap who is a runnin back. He never turned around to see the ball and it fell about 2 inches over his head into lufkins hands
