I love soccer's 1910ish policy of "one fat ref per match".

How's that working out soccer fan?

First off, any ref past youth soccer could run circles around you.

Secondly, there are four per match, and it works pretty well. Better than the fatass football refs that get in the way all the time.

Try not to be totally wrong next time you take a shot at soccer.

How long did they suspend her for? If it's longer than the eye gouger from Florida, that's BS

Did you see the hair pull? She could have lost her hair! An eye is an eye but a girl losing her hair is a monstrosity.

She is suspended indefinitely as expected.

Looks like New Mexico needs some anger management classes. Mike Locksley and now this.

Every UNM player in those replays was the same. She did not get elbowed first. She came out playing dirty to level the playing field against a better team. Classic strategy, used forever.

Yep, teams have been doing this for as long as I've been involved in soccer, at all levels. They bring dirty play to keep the better team at their level. I've seen my own son pushed down, tripped, punched, kicked..etc. Though most officials I've deal with were better then this crew was.

If you mean #15 red, it's New Mexico, not Utah.

The BYU player was pulling her shorts down. That's why she pulled her hair.

Looked to me like BYU were pulling cheap shots (albeit subtle ones) themselves. It's a Utah school. Cheap shots are normal. Ask Stockton, Malone and Jerry Sloan.

OK...New Mexico....

She was pulling up on the shorts, not down....b***h factor is alive and well.

She'd have to have been plucking the stubbly hairs out of her thighs for that level of violence to be warranted.

Well we don't really know what led up to it or the number of other incidents she might have been reacting to. Looks a lot worse than it is because it's a girls match captured on YOUTUBE. Had it been a men's game, we probably would have called that level of violence 'enforcer' moves.

Are you kidding....#15 had about 5 or 6 instances of violence that they showed....no telling how many they didn't......she is bad news...an instigator.

I'm not saying BYU was playing completely clean, but as the lady said there's jostling around the ball or even some rough play but the ponytail-pulling thing is the equivalent of or worse than an intentional facemask, horse-collar tackle, or hit out of bounds in football. No excuse.
