View Full Version : Good Roy Williams gone bad

Now we've had two bad Roys.
What an absolute bust. Dude has hands of concrete. Now he's complaining Miles gets all the good throws and he gets bad throws his way. He's not being treated fairly as a "No. 1" receiver. Winning is fine, but he's upset his stats aren't higher.
No mo' Roy Williams of any kind in Dallas - ever.

Agree with that. His ribs are hurt too, but it just seems when Tony expects him to zig, Roy zags.
Maybe they should get together during the week and practice if they are out of sync? D'oh! I am pretty sick of whiny receivers. Here's how it goes:
catch ball, get check.
whine about it, get transferred to Buffalo.

I think Roy is a good guy and will get it going. His history says so. I'm not saying he is worth what he is getting paid because that is another issue. IMO, Roy will respond and help this team. If anything, he looks like he had no idea about how big a circus it is playing in Dallas with a big contract.

I'm giving him a pass on alot of what was said because even the local media is stating that it is a nonstory and they're vultures. This is a case of a guy talking too long. By all local accounts he answered baited questions correctly for around 25 minutes. In those 25 minutes he said all the right things and created the context for the lines the national media is running with. Roy is a team guy. He's on board with the concept and he's blocking his *** off. Almost all of what he said was spot on. He and Romo have stayed late the last 3 practices to get more reps and try and work this thing out. Is it perplexing? Absolutely. Does he need to produce and do a better job? Absolutely. That said, Romo has done him no favors at all with his accuracy. He's pressing when he throws the ball to Williams. It's not a natural, easy motion. My bet is that this thing works itself out in the next 2 weeks, possibly even Sunday. Roy has had huge days agaisnt the Eagles in the past.

I agree. I think his price tag is overblown, though. It was really a 1 & a 3. We got a 7 back that was only a few picks after the 6 we sent. Thats a wash. He was 26 at the time of the trade, with a few skins and enormous talent. A 1 and a 3 is not out of line for that package. The immediate, huge extension hasn't helped perception but that's a Jerry issue and he's been doing that for years. I think the transition to the Dallas market from Detroit has been tougher than he thought, though. Everything is news here as opposed to the anonimity of being in Detroit. Bottomline is he is working hard, is young, tremendously talented and playing for his dream team. It will come together.

I agree. If they keep working and fight thru it they will be OK. The only thing he has going against him in Big D (and it is a good thing) is there are a lot of weapons to choose from so he won't get as many chances as he would in somewhere else...

He just needs to get to where he's catching 5 out of 7 instead of 2 out of 7. That gives him around an 80 catch season. With all of these options that is a big number and, at 15 per, he'd have 1200 yards.

Plus you have to consider Roy as the equivalent to the 1. So we're basically all up in arms over an extra 3 but we had multiple picks in that round. Also, after seeing the Boys approach to last spring's draft, do we really care that they only had 12 picks and not 14?

Right.
Also, I think once Roy and Tony get on the same page they will be money in the red zone. Big target and accurate QB should be money.

and if i had a 1000 $1000 bills i'd be a millionaire. you aren't asking for much considering he's a 2 for 28 per player while wearing a star. i'd settle for doubling his production. btw, i wonder when we'll hear again from deidiot explaining why the boys screwed the pooch when they cut to. i'm sure he'll explain to's woes as having to play for the putrid bills. to fits perfectly up there, btw.

Well. I'm basing my thoughts on his career which says he'll be between 60-80 catches and 800-1200 yards. I'm not saying that's not a huge leap from what we've received thus far but with the effort and work they're putting in, I think it comes around. TO is old and older news. He is where he should be, reaping what he's sewn.

I'm just saying they decided to go cheap and build depth, allegedly, when they had the ammo, along with NE, to run that draft. Given their chosen path I'm not sure the lacking picks will have any impact on our future.

I kind of have mixed feelings on what he stated. At the same time, Roy is happy about the fact that he's winning. I believe, that the last time Roy won 5 games, or 5 games this quick, he was wearing burnt orange.
Truth is, Tony and Roy are actually working together on the daily to get going. In due time, I believe that they will start to connect.
On a side note, I had mixed feelings about letting go of T.O. But, after hearing his comments last week, and this week, I'm glad that this fool is in the suck that is Buffalo.

T.O. has continued to show that he's a clown. Instead of worrying about what's going on with a team that he doesn't play at all, he should be worried about why his team hasn't won but once all year.
The best thing for the 'Boys to do, is to keep playing ball, and not sweat the outside stuff. This lockeroom is the strongest that it's been, in forever. Although Roy and Tony haven't gotten on the same page yet, this team is improving, week after week. As stated before, both Tony and Roy have shown the commitment to put it together. In due time, I feel that it will get going, as long as they keep working at it.

Since T.O. wants to keep talking about what he did in Dallas, he should also talk about the playoff game against the Giants where, not only did Crayton drop passes wide open, but so did he. How about the long bomb that he dropped against the Redskins back in '06? How about the first game against the 'Skins last year, where he complained about not getting the ball enough, when Tony threw this b!tch the ball 16 times, and he dropped one that was a TD, in a game that the 'Boys lost by a score of 26-24? How about how Tony threw this b!tch the ball, almost 15 times more than he threw to Witten for the season, but yet, Witten had almost 15 more catches than his b!tch @$$ did?
For all of the off the field problems that Michael Irvin had, Michael never, EVER, threw his teammates under the bus, for ANYTHING. Instead of separating his team, Michael was a big part of the 'Boys uniting as a team. Crack head or not, Michael was the ultimate team player, and he EARNED the nickname, "The Playmaker".
F**K T.O. WITH A SICK DICK!

Well Fav, when Romo was missing him, alot of that had to do with the pressure that the Eagles brought on defense. The Eagles' defense threw everything they had at Romo, including the kitchen sink. Tony showed tons of maturity, the way he handled it.
