Ok, If my math is correct. With Pasadena Memorial's loss, if Pearland beats Dobie and scores at least 35 points, do they take District 23?

How did they look tonight? Anderson put up some nice stats.

They look good in offense. Garrison ran well and Anderson had some good deep passes. The Defense gave up 14 points. The seconday is young but good specialy the Soph at corner number 14. He intercepted a pass in the end zone and almost took it back all they way but step out of bounce. Defense needs more work on the run. One BIG mistake was done by the safety he over play a pass down the middle of the field and the receiver from Madison took it all the way home. Lets see what happens next week against Kempner.

Myles Kanipes is a good player. Does a lot of things well.

Anderson is the best player no one knows about.

This thread doesn't get near as much activity/posts as it should!!

Anyone have thoughts on this week's game vs. Clear Springs? Should be a good game w/ lots of offense.

What do y'all think?

GO OILERS!!!!!!!!!!

Your original Pearland fans are pretty much gone from here...Pearland 1 is the only original one left it looks like.

I thought it appropriate to dust off this thread in light of the Oilers progress thus far this season. They have a bye this week before district play begins but I feel like this is a great point to analyze the 2013 team and give opinions about what they can really accomplish. Pasted below is a portion of a post by Marmer in the 22-5a thread which compares this team to the 2010 with the same 3 pre-district games as a comparison:

Well, all right, then! The Oilers convincingly got that pesky Memorial monkey (or is it a horse?) off their back last night. First up, an interesting stat, points to date against the same three teams:

2010 Oilers
2010 Opp
2013 Oliers
2013 Opp

SB Memorial

So the offense has put up fifteen more points and the defense has allowed EIGHTY fewer points to date than the Champ team.

The numbers are hard to ignore.
Through five games, Pearland has posted three shutouts and outscored its opponents 265-9.
The Oilers (5-0) jumped into the state rankings last week and now sit among the nation’s best. They are now in the MaxPreps Xcellent 25 National Football Rankings (http://www.maxpreps.com/news/sIfOKsezvk6fHnros2FBog/maxpreps-top-25-national-high-school-football-rankings.htm), moving into the 25th spot this week.
Most of the ranked Texas teams were off. DeSoto, Allen and Katy remain second, third and seventh, respectively.
For the record, Katy has a pair shutouts this season. The Tigers have outscored its five opponents 197-20.
