Down here in the Houston area, as I am sure it is with the other major metropolitan areas in the state, we have message boards along the freeways to keep motorists advised of traffic conditions and such. Those same message boards are also used for Amber and Silver alerts. I see alot more Silver alerts than I do Ambers, which in my mind is a good thing I guess. However, it seems that everytime a Silver alert is posted, it is for someone from the DFW area. Just this week it was someone from Trophy Club. What's up with you people up there? Is GoOwls involved?

Having driven your highways and spent time surrounded by your drivers, I'd much prefer that there were no boards anywhere near the Houston area. Y'all are having a rough enough go of it with the concept of lanes and merging. Adding reading to the mix could prove to be auto armageddon down there in Skeeterville.:D

I had a police officer once tell me that drivers in Houston Cannot drive on dry surfaces.

Personally I think Thousands of Villages are missing their idiot cause they came to Houston to Drive.

I feel the same way about midgets.

If those boards were in hd and wrapped in scarves, you'd watch!

Traffic is a lot worse in Dallas, actually, according to TxDOT. I've never had any problems merging in Houston. You just actually have to be able to do it at 70 MPH. People in Dallas drive too slow. Same with SA.

Dallas, and driving too slow are two things I've never seen in the same sentence before.

I learned to drive on Dallas freeways and if you weren't going 70+ you were a major hazard to everyone around you. I don't know if that's changed since I moved a couple of years ago, but I remember having to drive 10 over to stay with the flow of traffic.

Driving out here in El Paso is a complete nightmare. I have a hard time getting over 65 without tailgaiting someone!:Censor:

Not sure you have a leg to stand on there. The boomtown that is Houston has done as much damage there, if not more.

Be honest. This is more about the skeeters and lack of Super Bowls down there than anything else. Right?:D

Traffic may be worse up here but the iq level behind the wheel is markedly better. I can say that because I still think there are too many idiots on the road up here. For the record, I merge at 80 whenever possible.:D

You forgot cockroaches. Remember, I lived there for 30 years or so.

That said, the freeways are much more rational in Houston; Bush senior fixed the 59 corridor and even 45 is better than it used to be. Dallas freeways are just crazy, and signage sucks as well. But I ain't got no cockroaches. :D

The few times that I've been to Houston were the worse. That city just sucks in everything.

I agree with San Antonio drivers though. When I visit SA I have to remember that I'm not in Dallas or I may get a ticket from flying by those slow @$$ drivers!
