I am a new poster on this site and the reason that I finally signed on was of all the things being said about CP. I go to all the home games since my grandson plays SCFL he enjoys watching and I enjoy watching our 3 teams in the area and he will be going to CP one day. I owned a company and being the boss I didn't want to hear complaints or change until one day I came close to losing my buisness so I made a few changes and am glad to say ran a successful business for 20 years until I sold it. Point is Coach Carson if you or your coaches read this site don't think anyone wants you fired because I along with others do not want that, we just want to see some change to make the boys get excited and the fans.

Good luck to CP Friday, I will be there to cheer on CP.

Thanks for starting this thread. Please allow me to echo those sentiments with the last post I made on the other thread which I hope will be locked soon. Go TWCP

Believe it or not, when I started the thread, I did it with the best of intentions. I do believe that a change in direction is in order but I also stated first and foremost that it is Coach Carson who is best qualified to initiate those changes. The whole gist of it is to get the community to support the program and our Head Coach because I feel that support is sadly lacking at the moment judging by the number of people that show up at our home games and the seemingly low number of players in the Cavalier football program particularly at subvarsity level. I really feel that this is a matter of concern.

What I did not anticipate however is the back and forth sniping between the Cavalier fans. Did not even know we had that many posters here. I certainly did not expect a lot of them would sign up so they could put in their 2 cents worth, and subsequently, a lot of unpleasant comments are being hurled at each other and also our Head Coach. I did not plan for that to happen. Perhaps I should have considered the possibility, and I take full responsibility for my error in judgment. While I maintain that I made the initial post with the utmost sincerity and good intentions, (and perhaps a little frustration due to the 24 pt ORHS loss, and thinking at the time that the playoffs was a virtual impossibility) what I shoud have been was more perceptive about the kind of feedback it would generate. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Coach Carson for what has transpired in this thread. I am truly truly sorry, and please know that you will always have my full support and gratitude for the job you do for our school.

I am rooting for a Cavs victory and hope it happens. But, the team has simply had a tough season and probably needs to regroup and refocus.

Play good D, and put a score on the board early!

Parsons' status for tonight is about as clear as mud.

Article also says Parsons played in the last game. Kid was not even suited up.

Well I know for a fact that TP did not play against ORHS. So they're wrong about that. But is there any chance he'll play tonight? The article gives a direct quote that it's 'up in the air'.

I assume that Keith MacPhearson didn't see the game.

It's hard to tell whether he meant that Parsons could have played but Coach might have decided to sit him down to give him another week of recovery time. It would be understandable if that's the case because as we recently found out, they had 2 chances to get in the playoffs.

I hope he plays tonight.

I hope that the article is correct and we will see Parsons suited up. Not sure if I am the only one out there that thinks when that kid is on the field the game is more exciting and you never know what to expect. That kid deserves some recognition for his efforts this year. I know it is all about stats but we all know that this kid is one H#$ of a player and this CP team would be in a different position right now if he did not get injured.

FBaller lets keep this from being locked. We can voice are frustrations and opinions that is what this forum is all about but when we have had two post locked due to some harsh words about the coaches we need to keep it for another time. I understand the frustration of many fans, parents and even former coaches giving there opinion on what needs to be done and maybe they will listen or just ignore it like I did when I owned my company until it was almost too late to recover and that is when I woke up and made a change for the better.

Let's ALL support the team tonight and hope for a victory.:notworthy

CP's season ended tonight with a loss to Conroe. Great effort by the players especially the ones who were able to suit up tonight. Never gave up. To all the players, you should be proud of the way you've represented our school and your families over the last 4 years.

To the coaches. Thanks for your hard work in this very difficult year.

I did not get to the game until halftime. Does anybody know what was up with Osborne? He was suited up but did not play at all in the 2nd half. Apparently not much in the 1st half either.

To the admins, thanks for letting me post on your great football message board.

The boys gave a great effort. Too bad some starters were not able to play and you can see the dissappointment on the faces of those players and even coaches that battled through a hard year with injuries. Good luck next year CAVS.

If we'd stayed as healthy as we were the week we played Cinco, there's no telling how good this team would have been. With about 12-14 guys out, mostly starting seniors, it's almost an impossible task just getting a team ready to compete on any kind of level. I've never seen such a horrendous run of injuries at the high school level in any sport. Even at last night's game, 2 more guys came out of the locker room at halftime on crutches. Good Grief.

I guess if you go into just about every game undersized and outnumbered, it eventually takes its toll physically. It's a testament to how hard these kids try week in week out. We're so proud of them.

with all the injuries CP still scored enough points to win ( 28 ) --- but just not enough speed to play with Conroe's O

I wasn't there in the first half but I heard Conroe scored most of their pts capitalizing on CP fumbles and a blocked punt. I saw another one in the 2nd half they scored on a CP fumble close to their goal line. Unfortunately offensive and special teams miscues are a biproduct of a large number of injuries to starters. CP plays defense by keeping their offense on the field and controlling the clock. You keep that defense on the field too long, they're just not big or fast enough to sustain the effort for that long. Lots of heart but that only gets you so far. O needs to help them. Same for most teams.

Conroe 1st score was 1 st play from scrimmage -- 85 yd TD run by RB --other long plys were Conroe running past Defense -- like I said not enough speed on CP's defense -- probably because of lack of depth / injuries

But my point was that CP's offense did well -- should be able to win agame with 28 pts

Off topic, do you happen to know where Woodz and CP play their 3rd rd volleyball games? Both are playing against Austin area teams. More than likely, College Station or Bryan.

dunno -- all I know right now is TWH vs Georgetown & CP vs RR Westwood

IF they go neutral site -- Bryan / College Station logical along with maybe Brenham
but they could go home and home

I can say that the NEXT round after that will be tournament at Sam Houston U. -- that could be where TWH gets its re-match vs CP

RR Westwood are ranked higher than CP. The rematch I'm sure is the farthest thing from cp's minds right now. And Woodz's for that matter. Gotta win 2 games before that happens for both teams.

Do they work out during the season? What about offseason??? How are things going at CP?
