Allsome. Crabs>two last name bust forvever!

It blows my mind this kid is having the kind of impact he is having with only 3 weeks of practice.

WR is one of the hardest positions for a rc to adjust to in the NFL.

Sure he made some mistakes, but I'm sure they will be corrected.

This dude is gonna be a MONSTER.

It blows my mind how right I was on this one.:D Seriously, the kid stayed in peak shape and was asking for former pro's to come and work him out while he was unsigned. I wrote in the other thread how Trent Dilfer raved about Crabtree after spending the weekend with him. now, say what you will about Dilfer the player, though he did stick in the league for a long time, but as an analyist he's top flight. When he said he paced this kid like he would a 5 year vet and the kid didn't blink, I knew it was going to be on.

Of coure that could have more to do with being on the road against teams like the Texans and Colts ....... Please correct me if I'm wrong but when did the kid throw a tantrum during all of this and how, exactly, did the Niners cave?

He is doing really well. It's going to be interesting next season following Crabtree, Dez Bryant and Shipley in the NFL.

Well guy, i'm sure you article didn't say anything about Crabtree and Alex Smith staying hours after practice this week to try to build a lil more chemistry.

I have only read good thing about this cat since he joined the team.

I'm sure Crabtree gets a bad rep and he's partly to blame for it.

But since he got here he has been impressive.

And they didn't cave in to his/agents demands they gave Crabtree what the 10th overall pick should get.

The 9ers GM said the first thing Crabs said to him, Sing and Jed York when they had their face to face meeting a couple of weeks ago. Was that he never said he didn't want to be a niner or play in jimmy raye's offense(which the playcalling absolutely sucks.) That for the past 2 months he had been doing 2adays and working his butt off, so his body would be ready to play when he eventually came in. This is why Crabs can play full games after missing all of that time and is the 9ers #1 WR.

Why is that?

Crabs (6 games) 26 rec 346 yards 13.3 avg. 1TD
DHB (11 games) 9 rec 124 yards 13.8 avg. 1TD

Pretty much Crabtree has caught everything thrown his way, I can only think of 4 dropped passes in the his first 6 games.

Also keep in mind coach sing said this week the team will go from a run first to a spread shotgun air it out type of style. So Crabtree is about to explode.

Dude is sik.

Supposedly Crabs and Vernon Davis are gonna stay after practice this week to work on catching the ball LOL. They both told Sing that they wanted to be great players and are willing to do whatever it takes.

And you would have let your emotions dictate your future, as a result. Additionally you would have completely squandered a top ten pick. Crabtree never once threw any sort of fit or tantrum. He was under no obligation to report. He did not have a contract so the tern holdout is entirely inaccurate. You or I may think otherwise but it's his body taking the hits and his life that will forever be impacted for having played this game. He is the commodity and has every right to negotiate his compensation under the current format. I never heard a single report of him running off at the mouth and bashing the organization. Perhaps his agent may not have navigated this course perfectly but even he did no say or do anything I would consider to be inflammatory. Personally, I would have signed and played my way into a huge contract but I am not him and cannot judge his decision. Nor are you and nor should you.

His conditioning and ability to contribute immediately is an absolute testament to his focus, committment and maturity level. Football was never the isse for him. He was only negotiating his compensation. Nothing wrong with that in America.

Not only that but the change will allow for them to actually benefit from the selection Alex Smith. They've never tweaked their philosophy to his skill set until recently. Smith can be a winner in the right system. This will continue to save him and his career and free the Niners from having to waste another pick on a qb this spring. I applaud it.

Coach Sing and Alex Smith had a 1 on 1 last week. Smith is a team player and doesn't complain. He'll just do what the coaches ask him to do, with no complaints. When they asked him questions he would just say "coach how do you want to do it" etc....

Basically Sing asked Smith to tell him what he felt needed to happen for the offense to start clicking. Smith basically told him they needed to come out of the shotgun to give him more time to throw the ball and use all of the weapons they have on offense. He said he could spread the ball around and control the clock with the passing game, without turning it over. (Instead of always running the ball on 1st and 2nd down, having 3rd and 9 with only 1/2 a sec to throw the ball from under center, leaving the D on the field for 45 minutes a game, and leading the league in 3 and outs)

Then he told him Smith to take all of his suggestion's to Jimmy Raye so Raye could incorporate it into the game plan.

It worked against Jacksonville, hopefully it will continue to work.

Yep! And, it's about as funny as Davis trading Marcus Allen to the Chiefs, and Marcus haunting Davis and the rest of the Raiders.
