One of thes things that makes Boone Pickens a difficult place to play is the proximity to the team by the students/fans. They are literally right on top of the field and the team.

In the fourth quarter, at which point most of you had tuned out they showed what the texas staff did to combat this. Directly behind the benches, they erected a tarp that was as high as the stands.

While this did not prevent the boisterous crowd from yelling at most of the team, it did prevent them from interfering with the coaches communicating with the players who were sitting on the bench. The tarp shielded enough to block out the noise or anything else that may have been thrown in their direction.

I have to assume that it would have prevented the strudents from slamming the paddles against the walls in that area as well.

Great job Mack, and I can only assume that more teams will follow suit in the future.

Were they not the Longhorn banner's turned backwards?

I thought it was a great idea whatever they were, btw. As you said, great job by the staff.

Perhaps, I only saw what they showed on TV and if I recall correctly it was a white tarp. Not sure if they showed what was on the other side. I will rewatch that part tonight.

That's what I heard from people at the game. They were turned the other way before the game... I guess someone told them they had to turn it around.
