TE William Ball--Duke

TE Kyle Adams--Purdue

DT Patrick Massey--Colorado St.

RB Matt Dornak--Dartmouth

Biggest surprise is that All-State WR Staton Jobe did not get an offer despite stellar Sr. season.

Look for someone to pick him up after the fact or for him to walk on. His dad and brother were both WR's at TX Tech.

U gotta remember this is just the first day of the signing period...Cove had 6 sign but there is still like 10 who are gonna play college ball somewhere....Brent Garner our QB hasnt signed yet because he is takin into consideration both football and baseball for the right choice

Leander had zero sign this year after arguably its 2nd best team ever. Billy Allen is probably the only one that really should have gotten one but this just suprises me. I initually thought this was our most talented class as a whole going in.

Team loaded probably with alot of good "ole" Texas boys that can play great together. But, probably alot of those boys didnt have the "size & speed" ratio that turned on alot of college scouts.

Hey, dont worry though. I think many college scouts really dont know as much as they think they know when it comes to looking at talent.

Leander probably had 2 or 3 kids that could play D-1A or D-1AA football and compete toe to toe with anyone almost.

Were grades an issue? I know that good talent with crap grades sometimes miss the boat. Certainly not implying that in his case, just curious.

he's in the top 25% of his class. He also runs a 4.3 40, and is the two time defending district champion in the 100m with best time of 10.5.

It always gets revealed under the Nike Combine time trials. He was one of the fastest recievers there but he ran a 4.5 (which was one of the top 5 best times for recievers there). All this, he runs a 4.3, he runs a 4.2 is bogus. I use this example everytime i hear this. Deangelo Hall a few years back was the fastest person at the NFL combine and he ran a 4.26. So trust me althought he has BLAZING speed (i saw it first hand) he doesnt run a 4.3, or a 4.4 for that matter.

Well I didn't use a stop watch, but Staton played both ways and on offense he could outrun anyone and on defense there were several times when he was the only player fast enough to overcome an opposing player who had broken through and was about to score--the last time in our playoff defeat to Pflugerville and I think it was Antwan Cobb that he ran down and tackled short of the goal line.

That was also a 95 yard run that had no bearing on the game. I saw it on TV later. Antwan did start coasting after a while though because he thought he was gone, and if i'm not mistaken it was the very last play of the game. You have to consider Jobe's determination as he realizes this is his last play ever in high school football, and very possibly his last play ever in organized football. I'm not denying the mans speed, dont take it the wrong way. He was easily the fastest guy on the field when he played Leander.....but he doesnt run a 4.3.

As a tiger, you should remember Jobe sprinting past your DB's the whole night this past season. He was faster than any guy y'all had on the field.
