I think it would be safe to say that 6-5A was the strongest district of this round of districting. It provided a State Champion(trinity), the only team in 2005 to defeat a State Champion(SGP) with tons of recruits and talent, a team whose only two losses were to the state champion(Macarthur) with a wealth of talent, the 3 playoff teams in the district would have won the division 1 state championship, unfortunatley only Trinity could go. 4 teams that were playoff teams in almost any other district(Coppell, Irving, Nimitz, Bell) and probably the best 0-10 team in the state that had a lot of talent(Grand Prairie). 6-5a is also a very competitive basketball district as well.
It is a shame to see this ultra competitive and strong district go, but we will see a new one emerge in the next round of districting.
Now I am not a knowledgable person about high school football in the past but how well did 6-5a stack up to some of the other powerful districts in the past?

I-mac would not had won the D1 state championship.
As far as districts o the past, there once was a district in the mid 90's that feautured teh likes of Lewisville 2x state champion, Marcus 1x state champion, Trinity state finalist, Bell state finalist, The Colony who in that time frame was as tough a team as you would find in the metroplex.
Of course nothing comes close to the old district 4-5A which is now 3-5A.
