As coach Mcquire would say, ITS A GREAT DAY TO BE A LONGHORN. Count down to tonights game and i can't wait. Also being televised on a regional broadcast does bring some excitement to the game. I know are boys will be pumped up and ready to kick some butt. http://forums.5atexasfootball.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
Does anybody know how are JV teams did last night?

It is great that Fox Sport Southwest added the Cedar Hill v.Duncanville game to this year's HS telecast schedule. Craig Way will be doing the play-by-play.
Go Longhorns!
Also, the SportsPower national poll has moved Cedar Hill into its number 1 ranking this week.

This is a great day for Longhorn fans. We are going over to the city of champions and play a little football under the bright lights. It should be a good one, CH is too much in the second half.

Wow, I just finish reading some post on the C-Hill vs D-ville thread. And i must say that C-Hill has some real fans, and i must say C-Hill has some real HATERS. Thats what i love about threads its just peoples opinion. I think its great that a program like ours can cause so much controversy. Personally i really don't care if were ranked 1 or 101, as long as we win 16 games and come home with the big trophy.
Congrats to the C-Hill coaches and our C-Hill players :notworthy

What you said, is so true. Like I said in an earlier post, the game would be tight in the first half, CH would come out and run away with it in the second half. It look like the Duncanville coach watch the Monday night game, and said if the Dolphins can run the wildcat and win, so can we. After halftime adjustments, the D look very impressive in the second half. Concerns, special teams need to get together. Bucky is not ready to return punts or kicks at the 5A level. I would like to see CH open it up more in the passing game with posts routes, particular inside hash, allowing the receivers too match up one on one with the safties.

Yes, you called it second half was to much for D-ville, and i wasn't to far off myself in my earlier post with picking C-Hill 49 and D-ville 17. Have to give credit to coach Mcquire for making those halftime adjustments, C-Hill D did look impressive in the second half. And yes Mcquire will iron out those special team problems. I think Bucky will be okay, he had some great runs agaist Rider, when he gets in the open field, watch out. As far as passing, we are about 70/30 and Driphus is looking more confident. Its all about timing dont' want to peek to early before the playoff run. And were yet to play with all are starters on the field.

This friday we play Irving MacArthur (4-3,1-2) at Longhorn stadium. Who is coming off a big win against Irving Nimitz (6-2,3-1). MacArthur will enter our stadium on a all time high after beating Nimitz. They are definitely a running team, Sims #2 for MacArthur had 39 carries for 236 yards accounting for 79 percent of total yards rushing. MacArthur only had 10 total yards passing and did not attempt a single pass in the second half.
Sounds like MacArthur could be simular to D-Ville (not in the wildcat offence) but a on the ground attack. Will the Horns wait until half to make adjustments or do we put 8 in the box from the start?

Yeah, I was suprised by that win. Nimitz's strength has been their defense. It doesn't really show in their overall stats, but win or lose their opponents don't put alot of points on the board. To see Sims have a 200 yd plus game was more than I had expected. Hopefully our D can finalize their tackles and prevent any breakaways on his carries.

Personally, that's what I would like to see in the hopes of shutting him down straight out of the chute. But even if we don't, Coach Maguire has never been shy about using his timeouts early in the game when he sees that a quick adjustment is necessary. So I'm sure what ever Defensive scheme we use, if Sims starts making yards on CHill, Maguire will be calling that TO for a quick change up.

If we can play defence like we did against Trinity Trojans, then i don't see anything happening for MacArthur. And Benson is a big part of that!
Today from the DMN:
Team Offence MacArthur is #1 with 654.0, C-Hill is 10th with 433.4
Team Defence C-Hill is 4th with 255.0 allowed, MacArthur is 10th with 278.8

Look for eight in the box coming out of different formations too free up a DBs to blitze. According to a friend of my that has a son on the team, Benson will set out another week. I'll keep you all updated on how he practices this week. If you guys are going to the game, maybe we could meet up and intro each other.

Congrats... to Kansas Jayhawks Dezmon Briscoe 2006 Alumni. Saturday he caught 8 passes for 154 yards and 1 TD. Which puts him over the 100 receiving yard mark for the 3rd straight game and the sixth time in his last eight games.
Question, Dezmon is a junior this year. Do you think he will give up he's senior year and enter the NFL draft?

Well as a dad with kids, we all want to see our kids go to college especially on a full scholarship. Because it does cost $$$ to send your kid. But man, how can you pass that up if the opportunity is throwing $$$ in your face. Bottom line, i would still want to see my kid with a degree! :D

It's monday, and it time for our boys to get to work. Sims will be the main focal point for our defence. And our O will just break down MacArthur D. I give credit to our O-line the big boys, the doublemeats, the one's in the trenches, the not so pretty boys, the ones that don't get mentioned in the paper. C-Hill O-line is giving Driphus more than enough time to throw the ball. And we all know what kind of holes are being opened for Malena and Hayes. So this post is dedicated to our O-line.

He will come out, no doubt and that is not an opinion, but think...he can not officialy say he is until the season is over, just look at Dez Bryant when he got too involved with former NFL pros. i bet he is a late first rounder if he catches 6 more touchdowns....

I agree with you! He won't declare until the season is over. Bryant, as far as I'am concern is being over punish for simply having dinner with Sanders and his agent. He didn't sign agreement, he just got scare when ask about it, and didn't tell the truth. I would stay away from Sanders, look at what his agent (I think his name is E. Parker) did for Crabtree.

Its not just having dinner with Sanders its the agent part. You know he's trying to close the deal if he hasn't already. Having dinner with Sanders should be okay, its the agent he needs to stay away from until after the season.

History nugget of the week:
Back in 1935 with Cedar Hill's first varsity football team after going to a 12 year school... the mascot was the Dogies. (Prior to '35 students were bussed to Dallas after the 10th grade).
I had a look at some of the first high school annuals (yearbooks) thanks to the Historical Society and Mrs. Traphene Hickman.

Here it is some playoff talk, Div II, Region I this is what it comes down to... C-Hill..Abilene..Arl Bowie (Evolution, would be proud we included Bowie cause no one else is) SLC, and maybe even Allen (if Plano beats Boyd this friday). Only one comes out the winner in this region (which will be C-Hill) 5 of the best teams in Div II in one region. Who is left in the other 3 regions, after C-Hill wins we would of beating the toughest teams in our Div. Do the other regions have anybody to talk about? I can only think of one Katy.

There's just a huge difference in the parity department these days....we have a lot more good teams with good coaches than in the past. The door's open.........why not take our shots?

I will never forget the 3ot game last year at tex stadium...What A Game!!! And yes, they can score points they put up 84 points against Boyd this year. A record of 5-3,3-1 with a loss to SLC, Flower Mound and Allen. West ppg avg is 39.8 also ranked 2nd in area offence at 509 total yards per game behind Desoto at 563 per game. They have the #1 passer in the area...the #2 receiver in the area...#2 scorer in the area. Now there defence is another story papg 35.4, and yes they have the #1 defence recruit in the country Jackson Jeffcoat. Putting up points for C-Hill should not be a problem...but our defence will have to show up! TTHL

I was there also last year. Never will forget that pass play at the end of the 2ot that Dirphus threw for the TD to get the 3ot. Remember, he was a soph that couldn't pass, according to a lot of outsiders. As for Plano West, playing last year will help in preparations this year. Last year we gave up the big runs right in the middle of the defence that hurts us bad, that hasn't happen so far this season. Overall I think it will be a good game, like a CHill vs Desoto matchup. ;)

I think it would be a great matchup. My concern this season has been the inconcisteny of our Defense, especially the secondary. That could be challenged by a strong passing offense. But I also feel that when the chips are "all in", the D comes through, and plays to the level of their competition. Could be alot of fun!

You know...this will be a good discussion in a few weeks...but i think we need to back it up. We have done real good not to over look anybody and MacArthur cannot be taking lightly. As i have mention on post #10 MacArthur has a heck of a running game and has the numbers to show for it. C-Hill Defence needs to take a stand early and shut them down. Still don't know if Benson is going to play, but personally we have done okay without him...I would rather have him completely healthy come playoffs. In the mean time Offence run the ball like you been doing, throw a pass ever now a then and keep scoring like you been doing.

Ya know Fan, I totally agree. I want Benson to be there when it counts...at the playoffs. That said, this is a game like any other, and I want to see the team play well on both sides of the ball. Defense can do it without Benson, but he truly is the icing on the cake.
I like the way Jackson has grown from last season, and would like to see him pass more. He can do it, and has shown that. I also believe that there are times when he needs to realize the need to scramble when his receivers aren't open. The kid can run.

Hey i'm with you...I want to see both sides of the ball just dominate for 4 quarters. Lets put this baby to sleep and move on!

I'm with you and chill Jeff, lets take care of business and move on. Was at the ninth grade games tonight and spoke with a father that has a son on IMAC team. He didn't think they would have much of a chance if they don't open it up. He thought they depend to much on Sims, instead of opening it up and keeping the defense spread out. I hope are special teams play improves, it was horrible last week against Duncanville.
Ninth grade vs IMAC

I am unsure of the exact dates of the changes but by the 1950s the Cedar Hill High School team had changed from Bulldogs to the Dogies (like an orphaned calf on a trail drive) as in the cowboy song "Git along little Dogie". I think Longhorns came about with the opening of the new high school on Highway 67 near Hickerson and Cooper Streets about 1963. Research of the old yearbooks can pin this down I am sure. From 1943 to 1949 Cedar Hill had played 6 man football during and just after World War II since many boys had enlisted and equipment was scarce. Robert Nelson should know the exact dates. I can e-mail him.

C-Hill - 66...IMac -31...great win for the horns i was very pleased across the board. Offence just kept rolling and rolling...a few mistakes but i can live with 66 points and a win. Special teams look good Sanders caught the ball well and had some nice runs, and we made some adjustments on kickoff. IMac did score 31...it just seems like after a few stops on D and being up 35-17 at half our defence just lost focus. Over all i was very please with the team effort. :notworthy
Stoney Point the #1 team on 5atexfootball did not win tonight. So i wonder who's gonna be #1? ;)

hmmmmm. Made me look. CHILL was #2 and dropped to #3 after winning 66 - 31. JT moved up to #2 by winning 34 - 7. Allen won 55 - 14 and is in the #1 spot.
You can only beat the teams that you play. 8-0 is pretty darn good. #3 rank is great. The other Longhorns are #3 as well. Not a bad place to be actually. CHILL has a chance to take care of business, heal up and get ready for the post season. It is going to be a gauntlet. While I believe the competition will be stiffer, I believe that CHILL will rise to the occasion and we will see some lower numbers put up by the opposition.

Robert Nelson was able to confirm the mascot change with 1957 as the first year for Cedar Hill to compete as the Longhorns.
He explained that the Dogies had "grown up and it was to reflect the aggressiveness of the current students."
Robert has scanned a number of the Cedar Hill yearbooks and posted them on the Picasa web site, just drop me a line if you want the link.

Its getting closer to the end of the reg season, which means the playoffs are right around the corner. And their coming out of the wood works like termites...HATERS...there all over 5atexfootball site.
1: Allen with one lost jumps 2 undefeated teams to the #1 spot, C-Hill will never get the respect that they deserve just like the 06 team. I guess will just have to win another STATE CHAMPIONSHIP!
2: For the life of me i just don't understand, okay i'm not a coach...but when you have two not one TWO D1 running backs and a O-line that can dominate a game. A winning record of 8-0, #1 in the area, #1 in the state (AP poll DMN) and #7 in the nation. Wouldn't it just make sence to run and run the ball, until someone or anyone can stop you. So that makes us one demensional, No that makes us smart...Heck i'll take one demensional as long as we keep winning games.
3: Can Driphus throw the ball? Do we have any recievers that can catch a ball? C-Hill is only a running team...Be careful what you ask for! ;)

If you really want an image boost, check out ESPN's HS rankings. For at least the past three weeks, they've had the Longhorns ranked #3 in the nation. As my teenage daughter says, hey they're the big guys!
Ya know, though it does seem like CHill isn't as respected as other DFW area teams. I remember back in '06 the sportscasts would go on and on about SLC, and CHill would be an afterthought in their reports if they were mentioned at all. Both eventually won state titles that year, but SLC definitely won the limelight. At least the DMN this season seems to be giving the Horns their due.

Don't worry about the polls! Remember, this team is from southern Dallas county, when was the last time a team from are area has been fully respected. I can assured you, nobody is going be overly excited about playing us in the playoffs. Just look how far we went last season with a young team. With O-Line we have this season, we don't have to throw, nobody has stop us yet. Most teams look beat down by the 4th quarter. Finish the regular season on a high note, this team is going pump for the playoffs. Just think, how would you feel; if your team had to play the Horns in the 1st or 2nd round. :)

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i think the season 05-06 was the first playoff appearance in longhorn history. 1st round against Allen 21, C-Hill 7...but we haven't looked back since. The season of 05-06 until now 09-10 are record is 51-10 and in district play a record of 27-4. Not bad, that can help with the buffer between wins and losses and this season isn't over.

I know for a fact there was at least one year of playoffs in the 90's (early?) and possibly one time before that. However, just like the '05 season, the horns went out in the first round...'06 was the first playoff win for the Longhorns and we decided to get 6 that year! McGuire is setting a standard, a very high standard!

Found some info: This is Mcquire's 7th season with a record of 52-19 including this year. Also C-Hill has made the playoffs 7 times in school history prior to Mcquire and lost all 7 in the first round. This goes back to my last statement: Mcquire is setting a standard and a tradition.

Great win for the C-Hill Longhorns, offence did a great job dominating the game Hayes with 144 yds and Jackson was 8 of 12 passing for 148 yds all in the first half. Defence did a solid job across the board. Are starters got a lot of rest in the 3rd and 4th quarters without any injuries. Elisha Olabode #7 is the most dangerous kick and punt returner in the state of Texas. This young man has no fear two more punt returns for TD's, one for 48 yds and one for 73 yds and did not see the field in the 2nd half. Again congrats to the coaching staff and the Longhorn boys.

Great to hear about the future. I know it's a year away, but with all of the seniors that we're going to be missing next season, it helps to know that there's new talent moving up. Plus, we have Jackson and Ronnie Green coming back for another year.
I also think D. Sanders Jr is up and coming, along with our backup kickers, Sam Bryant and Ryan Sparkman. All three are sophmores and already getting a fair amount of play time. They should be coming into their own next year. I wish we could see more of Andre Anderson. I heard that he was very impressive on the Freshman team last year as QB. Anyone know how the future defense looks?

Fan, did a little research on them and here it is. They avg 21 points per game, and there defense yeilds about 14.7 points per game. They pass on the avg. of 10 times a game and the rest is run. So it appears their def is their strenght. We should be able to wear them down with the way our OL has been playing, with are dual RBs pounding on them. With some of are big name players returning, especially on D, I can see us stacking the box and forcing them to pass. As always, this just my on take on the upcoming game.

I don't know about Team Defensive TD"s but the DMN has Olabode listed for 4 TD's (int, punt, kick returns) in 3 games for 24 points (not including the ones called back). Re: Defensive Stats:
Has anyone kept a tally of how many Defensive touchdowns we have scored this year? We seem to be pretty good at that, but we don't see it in Stats in the Dallas Morning News weekly update. #7 Elisha Olabode is no doubt the leader in that category and real fun to watch.
Cedar Hill has a total of 7 defensive TDs. Olabode has 4, Smith has 2 and Wilson has 1.

I think that I have been as critical of this years defense as anyone...maybe MORE than anyone! Ive always felt that they had talent coming out the wazoo, but were not consistently playing up to their potential.
The last couple of games, I think that they have started to click, and I look forward to what we will see from the "D" on Friday night and beyond in the playoffs. With Mr. Benson returning to the field, I think that they will be absolutely explosive!
As far as Olabode goes, I can't remember a high school player that reads the field the way he does. It's almost like he sees the field developing in slow motion, and then he runs it in real time! I think that Sanders has been fortunate to run returns with him this season. To me it looks like Sanders has been watching and learning, and will develop into a quality returner in his own right. He's still a Sophmore after all.

You only spoke of the truth and i totally agree with everything you have said. Our D has been inconsistant...but yet even without Benson our D has played very well especially these past couple of games. Friday will be very important for our D to gel with Benson playing, hoping he can take our D to another level of play. I have always been the type of person that will say Defence wins games. Doesn't matter how many points you can score, at some point your gonna have to make a stop. I truly think our D will rise to the occasion.

Great game last night! I was really happy to see #5 Benson back in the Defensive lineup. He helps to bring the "D"s efforts to a whole new level, IMO. The Offense continued to show their amazing depth, and I enjoyed seeing Andre Anderson used on the pass option again as I think he has lots of future potential.
All in all a well balanced game. The one play that confounds me was the onside kick attempt in the first quarter? The only thing that I could think of was that they were trying to get some "real game" experience on the kick, but the timing in the game seemed odd to me.
But it was definitely a well deserved District Championshp victory for the Longhorns!
Keep it rolling guys!

As far as the excerpt above, I agree with that as well but Sanders has been watching and learning from Olabode, and I think is developing into a good returner in his own right. I have seen the brackets and i do like them, but what i don't like or think is fair play is all the talent in our region. Example, 2nd round possible game SLC vs Allen which means 1 on these teams is going home. But yet in other regions, (no disrespect to other teams) less talented teams will be moving on, Div II Region I is fully loaded C-Hill, Abilene, Bowie, SLC, Allen, EP Coronado any of these teams could make the Regionals or even Quarterfinals if we were not all in one Region. We would all meet up in later weeks but not starting in the second round.
To be the best you have to play the best...just not in all Regions!

Gotta agree with you. Not sure what happened to our returns team last night. They didn't seem to have their heads in the game. I thnk our defense did a great job in the second half. CHill definitely made more miss steps than I'd like to see but they still pulled it out.

The C-Hill win was ugly, this time of the year the only thing that counts or W's or L's you win you move on you lose its to the casa you go. PW has scored 20 plus points in 9 of 10 games this year. They had one drive early 1st qtr and scored and one drive late 4th qtr and scored. There D score 9 points before half. PW had 31 carries for 1 yrd (yes 1 yrd) and there #3 rated QB who avg 300 yds of passing a game threw for 177 yds. C-Hill D played an exceptional game only allowing 178 total yds of offence. Our O had 3 1st qrt drives for scores and 1 early 3rd qtr score and then just lost focus after that. I was very disappointed in your O's production in the second half, C-Hill O cannot have another output like they did if they wanna win state.

What part did you not like? Kickoffs PW never got pass the 30 because of the pooch kick and second half Eddie kick it out of the stadium. Kickoff returns PW did not kick deep onside and pooch kicks. Punts were good do not recall them having any real returns. Punt returns PW punts were like line drives and C-Hill release to early not giving Olabode any time to read the field. It was nothing spectacular but well contain were just getting use to Olabode causing havoc when he touches the ball.

What part did you not like?
Part of it just may be that Olabode has spoiled me to expect a new level of excellence on returns.
But I guess the most obvious disappointment was at the end of the first half where we had the bad snap and the rushed punt that lead to our guys standing by waitng for the ball to roll to a stop and the Plano West player stooped down picked up the ball and ran it in for a TD. Other than that, it looked to me like the returners were playing it more cautious than usual and letting the kicks roll, when I think they could have had a fair catch that would have saved us 10 or so yards.
No complaints on Camara, though. He is still among the best.
Just my opinion!

Our expectations of Olabode are on another level and he has spoiled us. And yes the bad snap that gave PW hope at the half and put them right back in the game. That was the most confusing play of the game, i and other people around me thought we heard a whistle which play was dead and which was why i saw C-Hill players standing around. PW picks it up and runs it in, while i was in line getting a drink at half a photographer who said was standing at the endzone taking pics heard the same whistle. Never the less it is what it is.

Seeing how this is the start of the "second season" Chill struggled but still got the job done. With 9 penalties for stupid errors seems like the kids need to be more focused on the task at hand. Heck, maybe the kids don't yet fully understand that this isn't the weak 7-5A anymore and that they have to play top notch football from here on out to win.

Went to the game last night, and alot of work has to be done.
1) The defense play very well, won the game or us. They keep PW pin down deep the whole thrid qt.
2) Their def. cord out coach our off. cord thoughout the game. We never did pick-up their blitiz schemes and they apply pressure on Dirphus Jackson the whole game. First time I had seen him rattle this season. He miss two wide open recievers for sure TDs. A whole lot better job has to be done by the staff, because you will see this next week until we make game time adjustments to stop it. Mason Hayes is with out doubt the #1 back and had another power running game at 28 carries for 194 yards ad a TD.
3) Specials Teams where pretty good last night. Other then bad snap on the punt, where he did track the ball down and get the punt off. I guess you should never leave the field until the play is whistled dead, so the other team doesn't score the easy TD before half.
Over all, not the start I would of expected, but a win is a win.

FMM offense is led by power RB, Stephen Hopkins (orally committed to Michigan) who rush for 167 yards and three TDs over Grapevine. On defense, I would expect them play stack against the run and force CH to pass the ball.

If C-Hill defence plays like they did in the second half of the PW game but for 4 quarters FMM will have a very hard time running the ball. Our offence will have to be explosive and dominate the line like they have all season long. No time to have another game like we did Friday.

It might be a problem for you the statement i made was refering to our Defence C-Hill D the first half played great only allowed 1 TD. But its called adjustments...C-Hill D the second half was outstanding only allowed 1 TD and a total of 1...yes i said 1 rushing yrd the whole game and 177 passing yds from a team that avg 300 yrds passing, so i don't consider that being a problem.

For most of the season, many people on this message board, and in general, have accused Cedar Hill of being a 1 half team (mostly 2nd half) due to a number of the Longhorns come-from-behind/slow starting performances. I have refrained from joining the chorous of the naysayers who say that Cedar Hill's slow-starting ways will catch up with the team the deeper the Longhorns go into the playoffs. As a supporter of Cedar Hill Football, I'd like to continue to not believe the naysayers. Cedar Hill is 11-0 and has moved on to the (Area) Second Round. The 2009 Season has 5 Long Weeks remaining. DeSoto High will not be an easy task. It would be wise, in my humble opinion, for Skyline to focus on DeSoto High.

I didn't get a chance to paint my wife's birthday present before last week's game, but this week her "used only once" cowbell will be sporting a new coat of Longhorn Red paint to match the sea of Red that I hope to see in the stands!!! We're gonna need to be proud and loud to be heard in that huge stadium!

There is nothing to scout, we are not a very good football team were just getting by. We are slow a one dimensional team and out D can't stop anybody.

I feel the same way. I'm wanting SLC to win, but would lreally like to see the matchup between CHill and Allen because so many posters and a few sports writers make Allen out to be the best team in the area. I'd like to see the Longhorns play them so that we can see who truly is the better team.....obvioulsy I think the Horns are!
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like I'll be able to stay for the Allen-SLC game. I'll need to watch it play out on the blogs unless it's on the radio somewhere which I'm sure it will be.

For the record i know some of the SLC posters at one time were asking about CedarHilldad. I ran into him at the PW game he and his son at UT are doing great. I tried to get him back on 5A but he's on to bigger and better wish him and family all the best.:notworthy

In that case, if ya' take care of business, you get what you want either way. I'm thinking it will be SLC though.

I totally agree! The key is preparation during the week to be totally focused. With the wake-up call from last friday it doesnt matter who CHill plays they will be ready.
C-Hill had a great week of practice (i was told) totally focused and worked very hard in preparation of FMM. C-Hill was at full strenght on the practice field. And you are correct after last week it doesn't matter who C-Hill plays the Horns will be ready.

Looking forward to CHILL controlling this game.........keep the focus on Marcus. I actually think you match up better with them since they like the ground game.

This is where i think the game will be won in the trenches C-Hill O will need to dominate the line for 4 qrts. This O-line has alot of heart they are not all 6-2 and 3 but they play like it all the big runs that Malena, Mason, and Green has had is because the O-line is donig there job. Over the season Coach Leonard has done an incredible job molding this line together. The team has such a desire to just WIN no matter the situation or how many points there down these Horns don't get rattle. Its unexplainable how the hearts in these boys show no fear they refuse to lose.

I guess I'm the first one home from the game. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay for the next two games. Would have really liked to see SLC and Allen but will have to be content to listen on the radio. The Longhorns looked really good this afternoon. They were hitting on all cylinders, Offense, Defense and Specials. Very good job all around. If they keep playing consistently like this, they should be able to go all the way!
Way to go Cedar Hill!!!

Allen and Cedar Hill has played once during Joey McGuire's tenure at Cedar Hill. A 2005 first round playoff game that ended in a 21-7 Allen victory. Cedar Hill turnovers were huge contributing to the loss.

CHill play focus and look like a team ready to make a run deep into the playoffs. The oline and dline play great and was the difference in the game. I'm proud of the team and coaches for the work that was put in last week, and it show Saturday. I stay for the next two games, and they were great HS playoff games. Trinity was lucky to survive, and Carroll vs Allen was all that it was bill to be.

This game was the best 4 qrt game to date that i have witness. C-Hill's front 7 on D was incredible. The O-line was fantastic a complete game across the board. It all started at practice preparation and being focus!!!

Friday is a normal work day for me, so I just sent my boss an email to see if I can take the day off! It should be a great game! I have alot of respect for Abilene's program.
If I'm not mistaken I think it was back in December of 2007 my daughter was in a soccer tournament and I was listening to the Abilene-SLC game on the radio as I watched her game. It was the week after SLC had knocked us out of the playoffs. Abilene won in the closing seconds of the game. Instant respect!
I look forward to see what the Hill can do against them!

I don't know much about Abilene they talk about all the speed they have on offence. I haven't heard anything about their defence, maybe brodyboy has some insight.

Abilene's defense is undersized, but scrappy. #20, the offenses right defensive end is their best player. The nose is active and #46, one of the safeties is a three year starter. Cedar Hill will need to be sharp.

Talking with some Abilene posters they admit Abilene's D is yet to be truly tested. Not to take away anything from them the game still has to be played and there D is not going to lay it down for us. If C-Hill O plays just like they did against FFM...Watch Out Abilene.

Just curious, i wonder how many DI and DII players do we have on the team that have already commited or are being scouted for a possible scholarship. 2006 we had alot of young men giving scholarships to, i do not know the exact amount.

I think it was 11 players, not exactly sure. We should be close to that this year. Does anybody know where Hayes might be considering?
