Congrats to former Cedar Hill LB (Class of 2007), Chris Francis on signing an UFA conctract with the Oakland Raiders yesterday. That makes 3 from the 2006 State Championship team in the NFL....Dezmon Briscoe (WR-Tampa Bay), Josh Thomas (DB-Dallas) are the other two.
I thought that team was just 1 guy?

I remember living in cedar hill during that championship run in 06, it was crazy. Does that cole guy even play football anymore? Also, is gonzalez in the same league as him like people are saying?

it for what it is worth.
I'm looking at this game totally scared to death.

Well, the JV game was exciting. When I left it was 50-37 CHill with less than 5 mins left. Not much defense played in this game; however, CHill created two critical turnovers that was the difference. Allen had absolutly no answer for the three RBs for CHill.

Everytime the Red team would go up 2 touchdowns, the backups would play and Allen would score pretty easily. Return 2 kick-offs for TDs for the red team.

First off, congrats to Allen, looks like their in position for a long run this season. I was real excited about our improve kicking game, as in, 12 yard punt, miss extra point, Allen for most of the night workiing with a short field. In all other area's the team grew up tonite and they will benefit labor day vs Denton Guyer.

Yep, last week was an experience that the Longhorns needed. I actually feel alot better about our defense than I have in the past two seasons. Allen is beyond strong. I think CHill can take Guyer to the pasture by more than the 1 point that we did last Labor Day, but maybe not by much!.

As a Denton resident I think I can speak for many of the Denton residents (except those who live in Guyer's district.) Thank you, thank you, thank you CHill. Most Denton football fans resent Guyer and their arrogance. It is always great to see somebody (anybody) slap Guyer down. I KNOW the Denton High School and the Billy Ryan High School fans and staff loved the game. I saw the game on TV with several other football fans from Denton. You should have heard us yelling and screaming when CHill scored that second touchdown. Then that little pass to Gentry on that late 4th. down play put us in the ozone. After the game, backslaps were passed around to all. Sorry about your game last week but my most sincerest congratulations on your win last night.:notworthy:notworthy:notworthy

The new def scheme is really working and have shut down rushing in first two games. I agree w/ Jeff, I have also been very critical and like the results so far.

That was a painful loss to DeSoto last night. I'm wondering what happened to the original plan of a two QB approach? I liked what I saw of Hobbs on the few snaps that he took after Anderson twisted his ankle. Despite the interception he threw, his couple of passes were tight and spot on. I think the interception was more a credit to excellent pass coverage on DeSoto's part than anything else. And he really seemed to have a great presence in the pocket. Does anyone think we will see more of Hobbs soon?

WOW...just WOW! Cedar Hill played a great game....I guess our defense got pretty tired in the 4th. Turnovers hurt us ALOT. It so nice to know that we have zero support from the entire city on the other side of the freeway! I'll continue to support the other Denton schools although according to you they all hate us and love to see us fail....thats a pretty sad commentary just because the town got a new high school and everybody had to lose some players. I guess it was all good back in the days when we were new and LOSING. Sorry about the Chill loss to Desoto...it was hard to tell how good they really were in their game against OK. Hope to see ya'll in the playoffs...enjoy our Denton fans.

Hobbs has been the QB for the backs since jr. high, there all jr's and look alot better with Anderson running the Offense. I'm concern, because I think Anderson would better serve the team back at his natural position, WR. Anderson threw that interception when he came back in the game. Playing on a short field most of the game will do you no favors. Mistakes, -3 yd punt, deep snap out of the endzone for a safety, penalties took it's toll. Time to move on, their off this week so they can regroup and make the adjustments.
By the way, the players are painting the town w' red longhorn on you driveway or sidewalk for a $10. donation. I happen to know a player that will personaly do it for any Longhorn fans.

I think you guys will have this one. Just don't under estimate their defense. I know what their record says but their defense is stronger than what folks give them credit for. Their pass game is inconsistent which opens things up for your speed on defense and will force them to run more than they have had to in the past.

I think that the Horns are still pained from the way Midlothian embarrassed us last season. Cedar Hill should win this one handily. Mansfield next week will be a different story though. Cedar Hill needs to bring their "A game" to that one, and I think it will be a one TD win for C Hill.

Wow! Great comeback attempt by the Horns yesterday, but where was our defense all night????? CHill has kept their opponents to an average of 346 total yards per game this season, and last night gave up 541 yards to D'ville!! Most of that was on the ground. For a defense that has been improving all season, that's a 2/3 increase in yards given up.
Was Duncanville's rush game that good, or did the Horns defense just not bring it? I think it was a little of both. Their QB Grimes kept seeing the holes in our D and gained over 200 yds in the game. Sooner or later I would have hoped we'd be able to see him and stop him, but he kept on plowing through. Cole, their RB was solid as well, but it was their QB scrambles that added the yards up and kept putting them in scoring position.
Congratulations to Duncanville on a very well played victory, but I sure hope our Defense makes some adjustments and brings it to LD Bell next Friday.

LBs need to read the option before crashing the gaps. Their QB had alot to do with making our D look bad. I was real impress with his passing and running and overall leadership. With all that being said, we should have sent out the FG unit with 17 seconds to kick a chip shot and game over. When you carry three kickers on your roster, there is no excuse not to excute a game winning kick from the two yard line. Now its on to LD Bell and we will have to see what ajustments they make!

Would you consider a PAT, a chip shot? One of those were already missed early in the game. However, I do agree...even if the "chip shot" is missed that is the right call.

Your right about the PAT, he made five or six of them before the miss. The odds favor the kicker by trying another PAT (Chip-shot) at that distance at that time of the game. JMOP, If my team is in position to win a game w/ 17 seconds left on the clock, no timeouts and the ball on the their two yard line, I'm kicking, if we miss, we going to OT anyway.

Who's going to the game tonite? First playoff game, anybody care to perdict the outcome. I'll be the first; CH-38 LD Bell-24.
I will be there along with the wife and taking my daughter and a couple of the kids from the HS. I like C Hill by 7. I'm good with the offense, I just hope that the defense plays more like they have the rest of the season, and less like they did against D'ville. The D last week was giving me flashbacks to the last couple of seasons!

I was glad to see the defense step it up last night against Bell. There were some really stellar plays that the D brought to the field. Still a few missed assignments as Bell receivers were left wide open, but overall, a real solid performance!! Now, on the Offensive side....more than
a couple of mis-steps. But still good enough for a win. Sometimes I think we rely on Hobbs to rush too frequently. And man, the Horns need to get a solid grip on that ball when it's in their hands.
All said, it was a fun game. Congratualtions Horns, keep it up!!

That's 3 straight years that Cedar Hill gets eliminated from the playoffs by a team that eventually played in the state title. That has to at least tie some kind of record. What do things look like for next year? Any hope the offense might change some? It was laughably predictable at times this year.

At least it's a good sign that we have a lot of talent coming back in the offensive skill positions. Another year bigger and stronger. I think that Hobbs, Gonzalez and Rayford will make for a strong ground game, but I'd really like to see the passing game step up. Hobbs has too good of an arm to not go to the air more. Hopefully we will get some strong WRs and better play calling to take advantage of that. I agree, offensively we were way too predictable.
I thought the D was on the right track at the beginning of last season, but we still have a way to go on that as well. We definitely petered out there at the end. I have heard that we have a new kicker coming up that has the coaching staff buzzing. He'll only be a Soph next year, but I understand on the Frosh team he was showing a strong leg, and pretty accurate at distance too.
Speaking of kickers, does anyone know what happened to Eddie Camara? I didn't see him on the Razorbacks roster this year.
Happy New Year to all, and here's looking forward to a great 2012 season! (Sure would be nice to see a strong state run in my daughter's senior year....just sayin'!)

Eddie transfer to UofCentral Arkansas and had a great year with a couple of game wining kicks, including playoff game. He join up with Spencer Phillips and a WR (can't recall his name) from the class of 2010. Brooks the upcoming kicker will be best kicker we have had since Eddie. The move him up with the JV red team to get him ready for next year. My son was the holder, this kid was nailing 35+ FGs, in addition he really boom KOs and a big leg punter. Chili Davis asst head coach and DB coach is leaving CHill.

Four straight years. Wylie, Abilene, Guyer and Carroll. Record? Probably so. Frustrating? For sure!

Anyone have any info on the pre-district games next year?
I think CH is going to have one of the best backfields in the state next year. Also heard that Gonzalez is going to see a lot of time at corner.

Instead of Ozen Cedar Hill will be playing Booker T. Washington High School from Miami at Kincaide that weekend. Also heard that the Guyer game will be on ESPN.

Shoot, Allendad, after getting into your new stadium you're gonna feel like the Griswald's in "National Lampoon's Vacation" when they stayed with their trailer park cousin's on the way to Wally World!
