I have to say I think the young man made the right choice here. Going to a storied program that features a strong ground game with a pure pocket passer will be a good fit for him. Here's a good feature with his thoughts on playing for the Crimson Tide.

was it because of all the QB talent heading to Tech?

watch the video McElroy explains his reasons, but come on this is a no-brainer decision.

Well, I've been to bama, drove through the campus one day during Rush Week. I was killing time before an appointment. I wanted to see the campus. I happened to drive down the street where all the sorority houses were, these brownstone looking places. There must have been 1000 of the prettiest girls in the south, all dressed to the 9's. I just about had a wreck on my 2nd lap. :D

If I wasn't worried about family reasons, I'd choose Bama over Tech as well. I mean, Tuscaloosa over Lubbock any day of the freaking week.

Tech is headed in the right direction, but they want to be where Bama has been for a long time...congratulations Greg! Thanks for a great season...

Yes.........You have realize that McElroy was a good high school qb. But in college the level of comp get a lot better. He would have a harder time beating other good qb for eslewhere. There are a lot of kids with talent that are not from TX., we don,t corner the market on athletes.

you do know that he committed to Tech after all the other quarterbacks did. If it was not a reason then, why would it be a problem after Alabama offered. The fact is Alabama was the best school that offered and they two months after he committed to Tech.

Like I said a couple weeks ago my nephew will be on his O line in 2 years. My brother went there and let me tell you I can see why he's there. Good luck to Mc and will see him on visits to my nephew.:D :D :D :D

Well I don,t know a lot about it ,but I do know that "Bama" is more of a running program, and Gregg coming from a bombs program I would think that Tech was the way to go.

Mike Shula has been changing the program to a pro-style with a 50/50 run pass split.

I agree with you. I've seen Alabama play the last few years about 5 times plus once in person (this years Cotton Bowl). I would say Shula runs a pretty good Pro-style offense that is pretty balanced overall.

I think the last few years Brodie Croyle probably averaged about 30 pass attempts a game.

Alabama cleary had the best offensive line recruitment this year, and deff. the best in a long time in the who NCAA. I have heard some say it could be one of the best ever.

K State looked to have a strong O line haul this year as well.

I love the women in Tuscaloosa, but it is that way anywhere you go in the south, accept LSU. You could pencil in Oxford, Knoxville, Athens, Auburn or Gainesville and it is just the same. Nothing comes close to toping a SEC game day experience.
