Why would they stop it? The team with 86 could have made it to 100 also.

Yep, 6 man football. Stuff like that, ok, not exactly like that, but still...scores like that occur all the time in the 6 man ranks..I seen that on high school extra on Fox sports as well.

Six-man football has a 45 point mercy rule that once a team is up by 45 points at the half or later the game is over!

I prefer the old school term - "Slaughter Rule"

It was the highest scoring game ever:
"The 218 combined points broke the six-man state scoring record set last season, when Throckmorton defeated May 102-100 in five overtimes."

I wonder what is the highest combined points for an 11 man game? I have heard of games 71-58 & 68-46 this year.

Pflugerville's highest scoring game was a 98-42 win over Blanco in 1952. two weeks later, they beat Buda 95-32. they averaged 55 PPG, despite dropping a non district game 12-10

1926 Haven High defeated Sylvia 256-0
Know that it's not High School, but...................
Georgia Tech stomped Cumberland, 222 - 0, once upon a time.
Some guy named Heisman, was the coach for Georgia Tech.

Years ago, when I officiated football, I called Moran at Newcastle. It ended up 90-54. The spread did not reach 45 so it went the distance. It took forever to play that game because, if you'll remember, every score requires an untimed down for a try, and then all the time setting up for a kickoff.
I was the line judge, and every time 12 16-17 year old kids ran down that field, I ran down that field. Talk about worn out.
I'll always remember looking at a team in the huddle, and the cloud of steam rising off those kids into that cold fall night.

Last year I attended Abilene at FW Paschall. I think it ended up 81-3. Ugly.
That is the most I have ever witnessed an 11 man team put up.

Just a few weeks ago, up here in good old Kerrville, Our Lady of the Hills Hawks, hung on for a 72 - 68 victory.
Yes, OLH is six man. What a game, though!

As far as a really close high scoring game between 2 5A teams .........
In 2007 Cy-Fair led by Sam McGuffie beat Cy-Creek 63 to 62 in a regulation game (no OT)
Creek was led by QB Jacob Thompson who played the game with a cast covering his entire left hand. He had a monster game running and throwing the ball.
It was a GREAT high school football game!
