No excuses to make. Copperas Cove was completely dominated in this ball game. I just look at it as our annual wake up call but hopefully this will fire the team up cause we have a big ball game against undefeated Belton next week. Any thoughts on the Bryan game?

It was just a terrible night. First of all, I don't think the Dawgs took Bryan seriously. It happens from time to time-tonight the dawgs just didn't come to play and Bryan did. Our speedy d-line was of no use on a soggy grass field. We lost the battle in the trenches because we were outsized. Poor offensive play calling also contributed. What was up with that fake punt to Nik Greene on 4th and long? Another case of fumble-itis hit the dawgs, too. I think we lost two fumbles tonight. That's unacceptable. If it hadn't been for some stupid penalties on Bryan's part, we only would've scored two TD's. Bottom line- it's too late in the season for Cove to still be trying to "get it together". Belton is coming to town next week. They've got a vicious pass attack and a lights out defense. If Cove doesn't beat Belton, they're gonna be playing for second, maybe third place in the district. The Dawgs better figure it out...in a hurry, too.

I really hope we do win this game against Belton. Cause it could decide who plays John Tyler and IMO i sure as hell dont want that.

defense was destroyed last night. Miss fires all over. Fake punt ??? Missed FG & Extra point ??? two running plays with 00:30 on clock and no timeouts ??? Bryan was the better team on this night........

Great Game Bryan! Dawgs get ready for Belton, they are the real deal and we will need our A game to beat this great team.

Well, I'm shocked, but happy. It was a big win for Bryan and a big step towards returning to the playoffs. Back to Leo Buckley to play Ellison next week.

It was not a shock at all.

New to this, i always read the post but never post anything myself till now,,,so here we go,,,yes the Dawgs did lose last night in what i thought was a nice game, but one thing that i hope that all the cove fan noticed was the team never gave up and that says alot about the program, now we move on to belton. and for all those people that have bad things to say about the DAWGS i'm sure you wish your team had the respect that cove have around the state.

Whats scary about Belton is that they manhandled AMC without David Ash. So instead of passing they went to the ground to beat them. Im almost betting that Belton comes out and tries to run it down our throats after that pour performance against Bryan.

Yeah it didnt look like cove was interested in the game at all. There were a lot of dropped balls that could have been points and that really hurt them. Also our defense decided to play together for a change.

come on Bryan, quit being so soft. You guys beat cove, and deserved it. You seem like your almost trying to apologize for winning the game. This won't be cove's only loss. At least one maybe two more.It is what you did to cove, not what they didn't do.You dominated period.

Here's the bottom line - Cove has no run defense.
With the exception of the blowout opening win against San Angelo Central and the second week, first half against Waco, Cove's D has sucked. Waco outperformed Cove in the second half, McKinney Boyd put up big numbers and Cove just outscored them, Ellison and Temple ran up and down the field against the Dawgs but couldn't overcome Cove's special teams play, and Bryan finally ran, ran and ran and kept Cove's offense on the sidelines.
This team is progressing backwards. Some particularly strange offensive play calling also (which shouldn't be a surprise to those that have followed Cove the past few years).
All in all, this team is not that good. Belton is going to hang a second loss on the Dawgs.

Agree with a little bit of you post (as bad as I hate to). However, even without special teams play Cove beat Ellison and Temple. Only one TD by special teams in each game and Cove won by more than 7 in those two games. What they (Ellison and Temple) couldn't overcome was a defense that would not allow them to score more points than Cove. Boyd has been scoring many points against everyone they played, including Allen. This Dawg team will put it together for the Belton game and will produce a win for the Dawgs. Lets Go Dawgs ALL TUIT!

Did you watch the same temple-cove game i saw. That is exactly what beat temple. your special teams.Besides the one touchdown by your special teams, they gave your offense alot of short fields the whole night

So I guess that doesn't say much for Temple, does it!

not much to say about temple or cove. Both teams are not very good

If Cove could just come together as a team, they would dominate. Our offense and our defense are both capable of much better things than what they showed Friday night. They're just not firing on all cylinders. I don't think Cove is as bad as some people think, they just haven't been playing well. Coach Welch better do something to get those boys motivated or it's gonna be a short season.
