All the A&M Consolidated/Bryan coaches and officials are talking about the district remaining in-tact - minus Waco High and Copperas Cove add- Killeen Ellison and possibly Georgetown.

That's what it looks like will happen.
Waco and Cove are locks to drop down to 4A. I've heard varying reports on Belton (Rivals said that they have 2100+ students). Ellison should move up.
So the 3 Killeen schools, Temple, Bryan, and Consol should be in the district no matter what. If Belton stays up, that'll complete the line-up. If Belton drops, look for Georgetown to join the district.

Belton will not be dropping....they have over 2,100.....earlier reports used last re-alignments numbers for some reason.
Question is where will Waco and Cove go? Two scenarios.....
Cove
Waco
Killeen
Brownwood
Waco Midway
Waco University
Lampasas
or
Cove
Killeen
Brownwood
Lampasas
Marble Falls
Burnet
(someone else?)
then
Waco
Waco U
Waco Midway
Ennis
Corsicana
Waxahachie
Red Oak or Lancaster?

I have heard so much about possible new teams in 13-5a.
When will the district be final?

This sucks!!!! Right when I make the transcition from player to fan, my team goes to 4a!!! Does anyone know of any good texas 4a websites? Man it sucks not being with the big dawgs, but 4a looks to still be really competitive.

I'm reading that Cove is right on the line. A lot will depend on where that enrollment mark is set.

The largest 244 football schools are 5A--Rivals has confirmed this with the UIL.
Cove's enrollment is 1960, which looks to be the 5th largest in 4A. The Colony, at 1976, is 1st. JJ Pearce, with 1980, is the smallest 5A number.
So, unless Rivals made A LOT of errors in the numbers they collected, Cove is safe in 4A. They'll be a very big 4A, but the Cove staff shouldn't be sitting in front of the TV wondering what class they'll be in.

4A and 5A are about even in my opinion when it comes to football. I would rather be 5A since we have always been in 5A since it was created. This could be a new era startign for the DAWGS and Lions as we both go into the 4A market.
Don't think for on eminute that it will be a cake walk cause i assure you it will not be for the most part. I feel Cove and Waco should do well in 4A but they will still have to work their buts off and come playoff time the competition is no different in 4A or 5A.
I'm just ready to get it set up and get back into the football modes.

If Waco/Cove are placed in the same 4-A district with the schools mentioned by TXP....that means we'll be in Region 4! The only 4-A teams that I can think of off the top of my head that could contend with us in the playoffs from Region 4 would be of course CC Calallen, Pflugerville Connally (they may be going 5-A), possibly one or two San Antonio schools.......but even these are nothing compared to facing Lufkin, The Woodlands, Pflugerville in the playoffs.........if we are in Region 4......we really shouldn't be tested until probably the semi-finals to face Region 3. But yeah, there are some good teams out there.

Where ever Cove ends up, they'll be competetive. I hope they stay with Killeen and Waco. We should hope we go north, with all the Waco teams. Playing half of our district games at Bulldawg Stadium and another couple at WISD or Bulldawg Stadium North will give us a huge advantage. LOL

If Cove does go down to 4A, I wouldn't mind being in a district with Lampasas, Burnet, and the Waco's. It's closer to Cove and not that far for me to drive, compared to Bryan/college station.
