Its seems like the offense is clicking and the defense is doing its part.
Hopefully they can keep the pressure on.

I'm secretly praying for a miracle that we go D2 so we can really see the match ups like Katy vs Allen and SLC vs Allen.
That'd shut up most people on this board I think.

Why would it shut up anyone?
I saw Bob Stoops in the Allen crowd tonight. He probably went to see Jeffcoat and saw a lot more of his brothers recruit (Matt Brown - Arizona) in action.

You wonder what Jeffcoat could do on a decent team?
He had a couple of great plays but all in all our oline kept him in check it seemed. Will be fun to watch him next year in college wherever he chooses to go though

Truly it won't, but the comparison from last year was that Katy vs Allen would have been a better match up than Allen vs Hightower ( which was a good game ) or Wylie vs Katy. Honestly, I just want my revenge on SLC for all those years you pounded us into the ground. :D

i've never watched jeffcoat in person or in film...just that rumor has it he's real good. :ninja:
anyway...with the kind of team PW is, i'm sure he's at least double teamed night in and night out.

Hardly if ever? I think he is overrated and gets credit for his name more than anything? I know he has at least a 20 tackles while sitting on the bench? Amazing when #40 makes the tackle they say tackle by #42. I think you have heard a bad rumor.

Meh, I don't think Jeffcoat is overrated. If he is, not by much.. Not much you can do as 1 player also on the defense.
As for the Allen Eagles... woohoo! Starting to look more and more like last season......... and i'm loving it ;)

East is beating Plano tonight..what does that do for Allen and D-2?Plano will have a hard time making the playoffs. It will come down to them and Wylie to determine where Allen goes. Mckinney Boyd will make the playoffs in 8-5a along with East. That is assuming Allen makes it also. Im just saying......:D

Our young man at Carroll shut him down pretty good all day at Ford Field earlier this season. I think he is a good player, but not all world like many think he is.

I'm like 90% sure Allen is going D1. Sorry Plano fans, but I don't think the playoff is in your future this season. No doubt you will rebound quick.
My picks for 8-5A
Allen
PESH
McKinney Boyd
Plano West/Wylie/Jesuit
The last spot is hard to tell thus far

I didn't talk with Stoops, but I did talk with the recruiter from A&M. He seemed to be much more impressed with the big #71 who blocked Jeffcoat all night then he was with Jeffcoat. He also mentioned a certain unnamed player for Allen who scored multiple T.D.'s tonight. I think he will be back to watch this kid again. Just my impression from the conversation.

crazy parallel............
Former Allen WR Uzoma EZ Nwachukwu (from State Championship Team) had THREE receiving TD's and a rushing TD on a reverse for Texas A&M one week ago against Utah State!
Tonight, the A&M recruiter watched as a current Allen WR had THREE receiving TD's and a rushing TD on a reverse for Allen against Plano West.............
thought that was interesting

Actually #71 Cedric is already committed to A&M which is probably why he was speaking so highly of him... that and the kid is great.

Holding occurs on every play...Thats good coaching....Mason has him pushed down on his knees...I freaking love it!.:)

Jeffcoat is quick as a snake. My personal opinion is that he is that good and better. For 3 Q's he went againt Cedric at 270 lbs and then tried coming inside against McNulty at 310 lbs on inside rushes. Most plays he was double teamed by both these guys and held his own. He is that good. Carter/Cheney did a great job devising a blocking scheme against JJ to neutralize his abilities and permitted our offense to produce a well balanced games....I think over 500+ total yrds again. Another piece of the puzzle in place. 2 weeks of practice to get even better then McKinney -Boyd I think.

I agree about Coach Carter and Cheney. They have had some great talented kids to work with. This offensive line got some great playing time last year and the experience is certainly showing this year. I think Jeffcoat only put pressure on our running game a couple times and was pretty much a non factor in the game.
The Rest of the O-line Pearson, Peacock (stepping up nicely), & Greer, have been playing really well also. Matt and Tucker have a luxury that many HS QB's would love to have.
Even with the lack of talent on the West team I would still expect one of the top recruits in the country to put a little more pressure on any team he is up against. I think it says much more about how good Cedric (& McNulty) is and how well they all did in the game last night. If Stoops was really smart he would start to focus on a couple of the Allen kids and get them on his radar!!
Outside of Jeffcoat's performance last night there is no denying his size and strength and skills. DI schools like those things alot, along with his pedigree. That's just the way the system works.
I am very happy with the progress of the team and especially Matt B. It is clear he has beeen working real hard to let the pass routes develop and even though he has had some trouble with some passes he has done a great job in avoiding the INT. with only 1 so far this season I think. Jonathan Lee had a great game last night as was mentioned. It is good to see him getting more confidence and getting more agressive!
Cheers,
~

There is plenty of talent, but most of it is held back due to subpar coaching. The coach plays favorites (as evident by the staring quarterback last year) and sometimes the better plays and difference makers are on the bench for whatever reason. It's hard to showcase talent when the team only has about 10 offensive plays that they run and when no game-planning of halftime adjustments take place.

I would think if Plano doesn't make the playoffs that would be an win on that bet, just have to look for that scrubby bearded guy to collect since I hear he isn't shaving until Plano wins?? ;):D

It's OK. Allows us to get cheap and readily available swag. I went into Walmart last year and picked up a nice Arizona ball cap and just cot off the embroidered "wildcats" on the back of the hat. At least one flag owner I know has a nice big Arizona "A" Flag that attends games with him!!

Ok, well I don't know enough detail about the inside workings of the West team to refute your assertions. I have heard some other first had negative accounts of what is wrong, but just like I won't go into detail about any criticisms of the Eagle program in public I would suggest that you tone it down also out of respect for your School. Just a thought... :)
All I can go by is what I see on the field so let's leave it at that. I do really feel badly for the Folks at West. With such a large enrollment I would like to see much larger fan support and more student body participation in sports like football.

Yeah. I've had a cousin go through the program, so I know some things about how Coach Hughes does things. It's not technically my school anymore (see sig), but I get your point. lol
And simply, when your best season in school history is 10 - 1, you're a new school and haven't had any football success, kids won't be overly excited to participate in football or to go to the games when there isn't a good product on the field. With the zoning changes next year and feeder schools that went to Plano (which produced Burkhead and Lott, among others) being re-zoned to West, hopefully things will take a turn for the better, but changes have to be made, IMO.
BTW, I would appreciate if you PMed me. I am interested as what you've heard and to hear if it's the same thing my cousin and friends on the football team have told me.
