OUCH!!
True statement!
BUT,
#90 Hinton didn't play
#8 Carpenter didn't play (leading tackler)
No excuse though, I was at the game at A&M was the better team on the field.

The Woodz have a solid defense. However, if they want to make a run in the playoffs they will need to step it up on offense.

I think Seguin is going back to the old threads to more or less prove them wrong or something along those lines. (Correct me if I am wrong buddy.)
I would tend to agree with this. After seeing the Woodz D in the pouring down rain game, I was very impressed with the Woodz D. Probably the best we've seen this year. I realize they have a lot of returners next year so I'm thinking the Lufkin / Woodz game will have a little more to it. Lufkin was in the position last year with a heavy Jr base, but this year there seems to be a good many returners here as well for our Jr.s. We will see if it is rebuilding or reloading. Of course we tend to say this every year and LP keeps on keeping on.
Now if the Woodz O can improve (a lot) I see the Woodz being a contender. They have the staff to figure it out if they will. I know around here when you have a kid that you think will be an offensive star next year all to find him a star on D come the next. Putting kids where they play best instead of where their parents or the kid wants to play is the key to having good teams.
I'll be really suprised if SW blows the Woodz out.

PACK,
The original quote in this thread was speaking of this years D. There are not many returning starters for TWH in '07. We're very SR heavy this year, both sides of the ball!!!!!
For '07
Offense:
QB - New. We'll see how this plays out in the spring.
RB - Returning (SR). Milo is a workhorse type, not a gamebreaker. TWHS really needs to work on a semi-platoon of some type so they can change the pace or play catch-up. FB - New
WO - New (all)
TE - New
Line - 1 returning tackle (SR). Others may have gotten some playing time but not starters. Center injured in pre-season will return.
P/K - New/New
Defense:
Line - 1 returning (Sr.)
LB - New
DB's - 1 corner(SR) with PT and 1 safety with PT (Jr)
When I state with PT, I mean playing when the game is still on the line. There are others that saw the field, but just enough to earn letters.

Has this crap started already. All spring and summer long I heard how good the woods was going to be. How, they were going to mop the floor with the pre-district schedule. Most of those fans have gone by the wayside and we don't see much of them here anymore.
This season is not even over and we are talking about next year. Well after this beat down at the hands of Westfield and little experience returning, it looks like there will be alot of next years to come.

How did the Woodlands JV do this year. The results aren't posted on HighlanderFootball.net. All I know is they dominated CP. How'd they do against the other teams?

I didn't see the origanal date. Well then, I guess this year is a disappointment then. I still see the Woodz D as better than average. But ice cream without any cake is just ice cream without cake. You can still have a party but there are no tunes to dance to.

I think I'd wait for them to get knocked out of the playoffs first before calling this season a disappointment.

Looks like they are just going to re-load for next year. They should still be Lufkin's main challenge for district. CP has pretty decent underclassman talent this year. Hopefully next year's game turns out to be a little more competitive.

I thought our JV blue tied Lufkin's JV and I know our JV silver(soph) won (silver only played 2 quarters). We do have some talent coming up and some great coaches to help! I know we won't be as strong as some others in our district next year, but I think we'll definitly improve! And what a year we've had, I know I've been pleasantly surprised!!

Okay - I know I am much older than lots of you, and that naturally leads to a communication gap. Can someone please explain to me what the hell "krunk" is?
