$ Bill is auctioning off seats on the B-25 Mitchell that will do the flyover at this week's A&M game. I like when they bring out old warbirds. F-18 would get pretty psyched up about this..

I would do this in a heartbeat. I don't care what stadium its flying over. Just to be in that plane and hear the old roar of the engines would be exhilarating.
B-25 Mitchell FTW.
Only 1 bid so far. How long has this been up?

That would be more than cool.
I used to work in an office near Addison airport in Dallas and they would fly in a bunch of WWII warplanes for airshows.
Once I heard the roar of engines and saw those babies flying in, I was done with work that day. Can't really explain it. I am just mesmerized by those things.

Its a sound you NEVER hear and it commands your attention when it comes around. Its almost ghostly....
P 51 Mustang, with the V-12, Water Cooled Rolls Royce (Merlin) engine at full song = mechanical opera.
They sound good with the Allison engine as well, just not as good as with the Rolls Royce.

Yeah. That is what I was hoping. Was hoping it was a failed A&M fundraiser so I could say something like "haha aggy can't even fundraise.":rolleyes:

As of right now there have been at least 25 bids for each seat. About an hour left. The nose seat is going for 3K+, the other seats for around 1.5K.

nothing exhilarates me and gets my juices flowing like the sound of freedom. i miss living around a naval air station where they eschew mufflers for their warbirds. hearing those big engines roar reminds me that flying is as much fun as one can have sitting down.
