Question 1:
Whats a good ACT score, I heard a kid bragging about a 26 in my ACT class saturday but isnt a 36 perfect.
26/36 thats like near 74%?:(. I guess it wasnt to great if hes back. Anyway whats good.
Second Question:
Any ideas for a teen job, it has to be a fairly large company because I would like to be able to stay with them in college, whether i move to dallas or OOS. I love my HEB I work at( Even though i have never been promoted:( ) but i cant transfer with them, unless i want to work at CM in Southlake. BOOO Southlake, JK of course.
Oh and a fun job of course.
Honestly I will take into consideration anything other than Filling out internet siverys or something odd like that.
PH and im only 17 until January so unfortunately I cant strip or anything to to fun :P
On a side note, anyone what would like to join my ponzi.. err buisness. please send me $2000 and ill promise you 16000 in 18 months with my "great investing";)

McDonalds.
I think id be to "proud"
I feel like even though I have not graduated Highschool I am over qualified and would be wasting a great mind.
I may be wrong but i was told by my AP stats teacher last year that the TAKS test were brought forward greatly because companies that hire right out of HS wanted the students to be fit for those kind of jobs, ala MCDs. So Since I scored all perfect on Taks ( yes i know its not that great an accomplishment, taks is a joke ) does that make me overqualified or just right?:p

I was very satisfied with working at a movie theater. Lots of people, lots of room to move up or to stay invisible. Flexible hours, too.

26 is a pretty solid score. don't do that 74% stuff. the ACT has a completely different scoring method. i got a 28, and with the stat sheet they give you, i beat like 90% of all people who took the test...or something like that. i think the national average is right around a 20, give or take a couple.

Ahh, and BTW by 74% i meant getting 74% right, not being in the 74th percentile.
But it probably doesnt even relate to that either

not sure about that one, but that seems pretty low for such a high score.

I think the starting age for UPS is 18, but I would check and make sure. My roommate and I worked for them in college, and he still works for them today. You start out loading trucks, and if you stick with it there is definitely room for advancement.
My other suggestion would be to find a job in an area that you select as your major in college. Most campuses will have a placement area in the guidance counselors office to help you out.

One of the kids in Hebron High School got a perfect ACT score this year and got a full ride to Emory University in Atlanta. He was also in the top 10 students in the Class of 2009.

ACT can't really be graded on a 100% scale. I think for A&M and UT the "automatic" score to get in was like top quarter of your class and a 30 on the ACT. Of course with the stupid top 10% rule UT had to drop this "automatic entry" policy but A&M still has it I think. I personally scored 31.
It's broken into 4 sections: Math, Science & History, English, and Critical Reading. These sections are scored from 0-36 and then the 4 scores are averaged.
As for jobs, I've tried several things, from retail stores to an internship at Verizon. Usually unless you have an internship you're going to have trouble staying within the company when you move though, I'd think. But if your new city has a mall, that's always a good place to start looking.

UPS is an awesome place to work, ask Farmer.
Unfortunately I cannot be employed by them until my dad retires.
He started as a truck driver and worked his way up to his current position and based on his job title I can't get a job because he has to much say in any part of the country on possible "raises and promotions" I would receive.

I considered working there my freshman year but the pay is very low to start, the work is very hard, and you have to commit to at least a year of working there or you are permanently ineligible for rehire. I was interviewed and they asked me if I was still interested in the position after explaining all of that to me and I said no. Didn't want a job that long-term and fixed and who knows where I'll be 10 years from now I might want to be eligible for rehire at UPS.
I hear it is a pretty good job to work your way up from though.

Exactly. UPS tends to promote from within because obviously like you said the 1 year rule, proves you are committed to the company.
