Just curious if the home team is required to make every ticket on the Visitors side available to the Visiting team in district. Since TWHS is the home team this year in the TWCP game, and since it will sell out, what exactly is the policy, if there is one?

4 situations :
1. reserved seats ( home ) of course have their seats
2. If General Adminission bought in advance at the school then tickets are good for the side that the school sold tickets. In other words if ticket sold at CP then it is good for visitor side -- if bought at TWH -- then good for home side
3. If sold at gate then GA good for side that ticket bought at that ticket booth --- BUT if a sell out prior to game ( see # 2 above ) --then no tickets sold at gate
4. Passes --- good for either side ( however same thing as sell out above --no seats -- no admission )
So if you want to sit on a specific side -- buy advance at school --or get to game early & take chances their will be some seats available --- keep in mind last year their were some small temp stands brought in for CP and Lufkin games but werent fully used

Thanks. I just was not sure if every seat on visitors side will be sold at CP campus. As for last year, the ticket office did not even open on game day. Every seat was sold by that afternoon.

I would think since it is a cross-town type game that each school would get one whole side of the stadium. I know that in years past here in Abilene that Abilene High fans wanted tickets more than Cooper fans and AHS fans were sitting on the Cooper side.

I agree with you in principal --- but there are some things to consider :
what if one side is overflow full & other side is maybe only 1/2 full ?? -- Ive seen that before
what about the neutral fan --just there to watch a game --where do you have these people sit ???
Remeber -- fans have an opportunity to buy tickets they want IN ADVANCE at the schools -- I realize that can be a hassle -- but for big games ( like homecoming , etc ) sometimes the school will have 1 evening sale.
Advance sales gives administration the chance to make decisions to maybe set aside a SEPERATED ( ROPED OFF ) section on opposite side --sometimes for support groups -- sometimes for ordinary fans -- this happened several times at Moorhead -- but not in the one year that Woodforest has been open, This is a MUCH better than Lufkin ( used to be at Bryan also -- dont know if Bryan still does ) of just general mix of home and visitor -- leads to problems
Point is it is not easy when you are dealing with big time & big schools that have good fan base with stadiums that have less than approx 12,000 - 15,000 seating. I think CISD does about as good as any ISD in this area

We had a small section roped off on the home side last year for the TWHS overflow. That seemed to work out ok. The only time it gets ugly is when some of the visiting fans ignore the requests to go to that section and end up taking spots near midfield anyway.

yeah -- easy enough to have a designated section --- but hard to police a General Admission ticket --- some people are just idiots and think the world belongs to them. I think back to a long time ago-- took my family (kids were young then ) to Astro game at the Dome -- mostly young families in this section but about 3 rows down there was a group of 5 or 6 early 20's guys drunk as h**l -- they started getting loud , abusive , using EXTREME foul language and pysically threatning anybody that asked them to tone it down . I went a found a police officer & told him -- his response was " there are plenty of empty seats -- why dont you move ? " --- the last time I took my family to an Astro game until the kids got in their teens
Granted drinking is not generally a problem at high school games ( although some times it is ! ! ) --- but some times kids AND idiot adults get too wrapped up in their team and problems occur --- Ive seen it with the "mixed" attendance

No ugly incidents last year at Woodforest. Besides, the biggest worry with these 2 schools is at the girls basketball games when in some years they decide to sit all the fans on the same side of the gym like it was 2 years ago at TWHS. Glad they unfolded both sets of bleachers last year.

yeah -- agree with that --usually around here basketball doesnt have too many people to be a problem. The reason sometimes visiting seats at TWH not unfolded -- the girls coach doesnt like people sitting behind her bench -- possibly " intimadating " her girls ( LOL ) --- so when it comes to big games they dont how to handle it

It was Standing Room Only the year they sat on same side. Hard to imagine the TW players intimidated. LOL. Granted their players have always looked feminine, they do not play like it. (meant as a compliment)
