why don't we have these on this board?

I've thought about it several times, but I've always ended up thinking that people might abuse it. I've never been a part of a board that uses that, so maybe I'm wrong. I'm intrigued by the idea, because I think, if used correctly, it could be pretty cool. I don't know too much about how it works really.

i've helped run that board for a couple years, we've used vBulletin for about exactly a year. rep scales got a little out of hand at first, and the head guy took them off, but since he brought them back they havent been abused

and its a smaller group of guys there, most of us been posting there for a long time, almost like a frat house over there, lots of inside jokes and stuff

Do fellow members vote on what your reputation is? That makes for an interesting rating around here because we have people who are loved and hated.

no, you can give each member a plus or minus "rep point" for particular posts.

for example, if we had them for the thread where i called out wide, i'm sure half the f'ing board would have "neg repped" me into a hole i'd never dig out of. it's kept track by a little green or red box next to your name in each post
