Garland D looked good, offense awful. Poorly coached game too, in my opinion. Lake Highlands deserved to win, and by more than 1 point. Garland is over-rated. Maybe they will be good by the end of the season and playoffs. They are not very good now, especially offensively...
Abilene Cooper next. Maybe a long night in West Texas...

Wow - sounds like it was a hard fought game last night! I hope the Cougars can keep the Owls down at least one more week! GO COUGARS!!!

No, our coaching staff vs. theirs was the factor.

Kind of shocking reaction to this loss. Is it lack of respect for Lake Highlands or is just way high expectation for Garland. I'm not sure. I watched the Garland/D'ville game before it got cancelled and while I wasn't that impressed with Garlands offense, Garlands defense looked great. And seeing as Lake Highlands only put up 7, I don't see any reason to think that Garlands defense has any real issues. I think the defense is good enough to keep them in games, the offense just needs to get untracked. From what I seen of the starting QB, he looked like he has a strong arm but wasn't all that accurate. Garland may have to forget about the long ball until this kid is able to hit his targets a little better. I liken it to long toss in baseball warm ups. Start close and gradually spread the distance.

Not a lack of respect for LH, they are a good team. Ricky Zorn is the real deal. Garland's offense was terrible, no game plan, virtually no running game, and LOTS of dropped passes (10). The D got shredded though, the score would have been 21 or 28-6 if Lake Highlands could hold on to the ball, they had 4 fumbles (Garland did deliver 1 blow that probably CAUSED a fumble). We looked very much like a team that hasn't really played since last November.
Overall: A Night We'd Like To Forget

No lack of respect for LH - they played great. WAY TOO HIGH expectations for Garland - Owls can turn it all around with a great showing in Abilene.
Defense is very good. They will keep Garland in a lot of games this year. Maybe the O will catch up... I sure hope so...

No. The offense will stay at home running routes and passing drills. The defense will play both ways in Abilene.
