Kyle Field is winning this poll by such a large margin. It is for the Texas vs Aggy matchup and asks which has a better homefield advantage. I am trying to remember the last time they beat Texas in Kyle?

Going head up with aggy in an internet poll...Is like walking up to Chuck Norris and asking "Hey Chuck...how's your wife and my kids?"

Nobody stands a chance against them in meat judging, moral victories, and internet polls. They are the USC of those 3 things.

and in the 100+ years of the game Aggy has come out of Austin with a victory only 12 times

Let me get this straight...
He pointed out a fact.........not an opinion.
And you ask what....no WTF...his problem is?
He was just pointing out the truth...
I almost forgot...the truth is like kryptonite to aggy.

The point isn't necessarily wins and losses. The point is that after a game, the players are far more impressed by Kyle than by DKR...

So the advantage is not used to win the game, but to impress the players?

Who the hell cares...?

You lose...and then brag about having the best (allegedly) stadium atmosphere.

That's like a guy kicking my ***.....and as he's walking off I say "Oh yeah...well I have a nicer car than you do"

poor aggy

Well since you know Texas has a winning record at Kyle, what reasons show that Kyle field gives Aggy a home field advantage?

Iwould submit to you that tech has a better football "atmosphere" than aggy. Hell if I want pomp and circumstance, I'll go to San Diego or Washington and see a real military parade...
People hate coming to Lubbock, and we like it that way... drunk fans and tortillas raining down everywhere, along with football going in every direction this equals a fun time!

During the Texas St./aggy game last season...the cameras captured Fran on the sideline (during the game) munching on some undetermined snack treat...
Well.......the rest is history.
Some say it was a zebra cake...some say it was an oatmeal cream pie...
the world may never know.

But it did happen...it's not urban legend.

i figured it was something like that, but I hadn't seen it. Sounds like a shoe deal isn't the only endorsement opportunity for FatFran.

That's basically it. Everyone has to admit, we're pretty much sucked since Fran has been here and yet, we pull off a winning record. t.u. has been a far superior football team so evein if they're undefeated at Kyle and undefeated at home (or close to it) they don't have as much as a homefield advantage because the team gets it done anyway. Plus, Aggie fans are renowned for being curtious etc. (yes, you will always bump into idiots at every game, the same can be said for any college).

I think the exact reasons you listed are why people regard tech as a trashy school.

On my first trip to Kyle Field, my roommate and I noticed some odd things going on leading up to the game. We started counting the number of "What the hell just happened?" moments, and we hit 35 before kickoff.

It is spiritedly loud at times and also quite impressive at times, but the myth about Aggies staying the whole game and standing the whole time no matter what the score is quite funny.

I won't even begin to argue that Texas has better fans, but that place can be just as loud, and when people feel like it, it can be even louder than Kyle. Yeah, we have alot of W(h)ine and cheese fans, but I always had a GREAT time at DKR.

Because it simply ain't true. I get it that the Aggies have very dedicated supporters, but this notion that they are the 'perfect fans' is comical. I think the whole thing is way overblown. Even some 'Old Army' are admitting as much.

We're trashy because of what/ Aggies kickin there own ***** in the stands that year with the LT GOv sitting over there?

Tech has an awesome campus and it's in the middle of the south Plains so yeah there's room to party.

I've actually never heard it called trashy until your post, honestly.

party school, laid back, country school, yup admitted 100%

It isn't like it's fun going to a game like you're in Poland at Kyle Field( both the Martial Law and the IQ are in effect)

And T-sips ain't exactly hospitable to us po folk that come off the Caprock.

Tech is what it is. From reading alot of the posts, some people need a gallon of truth syrum when talking about their school!

I've been to both, I came away with free beer from the A&M crowd cause I wanted to test the myth of how nice they were, so I wore a K-State shirt to the game back in 2000. That game Kyle was loud and had a effect on the outcome as A&M upset a top 10 K-State game. Two weeks later my best friend who is a aggie got me tickets to the OU game, probably the greatest game I have ever seen. That day once again Kyle Field is what gave A&M a chance to win the game until Torrence Marshall intercepted Farris and scored. I went to the Texas game in 2001 and once again Kyle Field kept that game close, the talent of Texas was far superior to A&M and Texas won on the heels of two blocked punts. The game was 7-7 late in the 3rd. I went to Austin in 2003 for the Tech game with some friends from Tech. DKR was loud, but never to the level I saw at Kyle during the OU or K-State games.
It's funny to hear and see Texas fans get all upset over a internet poll, what does it matter that people say Kyle Field is a better home field advantage than DKR? sometimes DFF fans acts like "aggy" as much as he whines about things.
By the way both Sanford Stadium in Athens, GA and Bryant Denny in Tuscaloosa, Alabama blow away DKR and Kyle field as does Neyland.

First off I am not whining about the results of the internet poll. I was wondering why the voting was so lopsided in one direction even though the outcomes are lopsided in the other. Also the homefield advantage question was in reference to the annual Texas vs. Aggy matchup. It has nothing to do with games against Tech, K-state, and OU.

Well I guess both teams only play one game a year in each stadium. I was voicing my opinon of both stadiums and the games I saw there.
I was also at the A&M/Texas game in 2002, the crowd came in drunk, I saw the hellraisers flipping off the aggie ball boys who were probably 10 years old, my buddy got harrased to the point to where even a Texas fan told him to STF up. We heard jokes in the stands about bonfire and even a texas fan complaining about why Texas would take a moment of silence to honor Brandon Fails that game, I found to be one of the most incredible things ever witneesed and even wrote a letter to the the Texas athletic department after that. Texas won easily 50-20 due to more talent on the field but the crowd was weak, they came late and left early and a lot didnt even come back after halftime.
At College Station in 2001 I witnessed a lot of the same, It amazed me to see Ags picking fights and pushing Texas fans. It amazed me to hear the things I did coming form the crowd directed at a kid in the middle of the Aggie student section wearing burnt orange. After the game I saw some scuffles as well mainly initiated by Texas A&M fans. However that game the home field played a big part in the outcome, Texas won the game but did so 21-7, that was the year had the beat Colorado they would have gone to the national championship game, they should have blown out A&M but they didnt, and Kyle Field had a lot to do with it. During this game, Kyle provides a better atmosphere for A&M than DKR does for Texas. Simply stated Texas blows out A&M at DKR and I can only remember 1 time in the last 20+ years that Texas has blwon out A&M at Kyle field.

You can't look at it only in context of the t.u. vs. A&M game. The poll is referring to all games.

the poll is on the homepage of the Lonestar showdown. The only places listed are Texas and Aggy. It is referring to what place gives the biggest homefied advantage for the Showdown. I actually voted for the Erwin Center, not because of the atmosphere, but because Texas generally beats Aggy by 25+ in that building.
